Sickly Cannon Fodder: Spoiled by the Powerful Apocalypse Bosses-Chapter 65
The moment Suzy thought about the Loyalty Card, her heart stirred.
If she used the card... she could finally tell her uncle about the space.
They were living under the same roof now. Keeping the secret meant she had to constantly hold herself back, carefully hiding what she did.
If she could be honest about the space, things would become far easier.
Suzy had been thinking about this for a long time.
But she had hesitated.
She knew Leonard treated her well. Still, the space was her greatest trump card. She simply didn’t dare gamble on human nature.
In the apocalypse, betrayal within families was tragically common. She had to prepare for the worst.
But with the Loyalty Card, none of that would matter.
Once she used it on Leonard, he would never betray her.
Suzy’s gaze gradually hardened with resolve.
She knew exactly what reward she would choose.
"System, I choose the Loyalty Card," she said silently.
[Host confirming selection of the Loyalty Card?]
"Wait," Suzy added cautiously. "You said that once the card is used, the bound person will be absolutely loyal and will never betray me, right?"
Out of caution, she confirmed again.
[Correct.]
"Then that’s my choice. The Loyalty Card."
[Congratulations, host. Loyalty Card successfully redeemed.]
[Reward delivered. Please check your inventory.]
Suzy focused inward and soon sensed a small purple card inside her space.
So this was the Loyalty Card.
The moment she sensed it, she instinctively understood how it worked.
"Suzy, what are you thinking about?"
Leonard’s voice pulled her back to reality.
From his perspective, Suzy had simply been staring into space.
They had been in the middle of a conversation when she suddenly went quiet.
"It’s nothing," Suzy said with a small smile.
Leonard frowned slightly. "You told me not to worry earlier. Do you actually have a solution for the water problem?"
Suzy nodded. "Yes. I do."
Then she extended her hand toward him.
Resting in the center of her pale palm was a brown pill.
"What’s this?" Leonard raised an eyebrow.
"Eat it first," Suzy said, "and then I’ll tell you."
Leonard sighed helplessly, but his eyes were full of fondness as he picked up the pill.
"Alright, alright."
Without hesitation, he popped it into his mouth.
"There. Satisfied?"
His trust sent a warm ripple through Suzy’s heart.
"Uncle... aren’t you worried it might be poison?" she asked softly.
Leonard chewed thoughtfully.
"What poison? It’s obviously just a chocolate malt ball."
Suzy widened her eyes in surprise.
Leonard chuckled. "What’s there to worry about? My Suzy wouldn’t harm me, right?"
Suzy rubbed her slightly stinging nose and nodded.
"Right."
"So," Leonard prompted gently, noticing her strange mood, "what did you want to tell me?"
Suzy took his arm and led him into her bedroom.
They sat down.
Her expression turned serious.
"Uncle... there’s something I need to tell you."
As she spoke, she silently activated the Loyalty Card, binding it to Leonard.
[Binding successful.]
The system notification echoed in her mind.
Leonard looked at her calmly, his tone warm and patient.
"Alright. Go ahead."
Suzy cleared her throat.
"Uncle... actually... I have a space."
Leonard: "Mm."
Suzy: ???
Wait.
That was it?
Why was he so calm?
This reaction was completely different from what she had imagined.
If a normal person heard that someone had a spatial dimension, wouldn’t they be shocked?
The corner of Suzy’s mouth twitched.
She continued anyway.
"There’s water inside my space. So... we don’t need to worry about the water problem."
Leonard’s expression slowly changed.
Confusion. Pure confusion. He seemed to be trying to process her words.
After a long pause, he finally asked: "Suzy... what exactly is a ’space’?"
"You don’t know?" Suzy blinked in surprise.
For once, Leonard looked faintly embarrassed.
He had watched plenty of apocalyptic movies before, but his understanding of the apocalypse came mostly from foreign films.
And those movies didn’t include spatial dimensions.
He simply couldn’t picture it.
Suzy explained briefly what a space was—and then demonstrated it.
When Leonard watched her casually wave her hand and make a chair vanish into thin air, he froze.
"Spa... space?"
The confusion on his face was gradually replaced by shock.
Suzy watched him with satisfaction.
Yes—that was the reaction she had expected.
"So... your space can store supplies?" Leonard quickly caught on. His voice carried a hint of incredulous urgency.
"Does that mean when you said you could handle those supplies in C City... it was because of this space?"
Suzy hadn’t expected him to make the connection so quickly.
She nodded.
"Exactly."
Leonard let out a long breath, his tense shoulders finally relaxing.
"That’s good... that’s really good."
A space was an incredible thing.
Thinking about the massive stockpile of supplies he had spent a fortune gathering back in C City—now safely stored inside Suzy’s space—his heart finally settled.
Even though Suzy had told him before that she had a way to handle the storage problem, he had always felt a lingering unease.
He never could have imagined that his niece possessed such an extraordinary ability.
Ever since arriving in A City, the thought of those supplies sitting far away in C City had occasionally weighed on his mind.
It felt like hiding a vast fortune somewhere he could neither see nor touch, constantly fearing it might disappear.
Now he suddenly learned that the "fortune" had been right beside them all along.
How could he not be relieved?
But his expression soon turned serious again.
Lowering his voice, he said firmly:
"You must never tell anyone else about the space."
If such a treasure attracted the wrong attention, the consequences would be unimaginable.
In the worst case, it could even lead to someone trying to kill her for it.
Suzy nodded earnestly.
"Don’t worry, Uncle. I know what I’m doing."
Leonard released her hands and fell silent for a moment, thinking.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up.
"Is there still room left in the space?"
"There is," Suzy replied.
Leonard’s eyes instantly sparkled.
"That’s perfect! Then we should go out and buy more supplies over the next couple of days!"
"That works too."
Now that he knew about the space, Leonard seemed even more excited than Suzy herself.
Chuckling happily, he returned to his room, saying he needed to make a detailed shopping list.
There were still plenty of things he had wanted to buy before but had given up on because the heat would spoil them. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
But now?
Now things were completely different.
