Chapter 54: Dreamland Conspiracy!

One Day Later!

Austonia Academy’s Overall Combat Training Hall!

Damon’s brilliant dual coloured blood red and brilliant gold eyes were radiating with an unmatched confidence as he unsheathed BloodReaper, his overbearing aura cast across the room as he gazed at the opponent opposite him, Elanore.

Today was their first day of official classes, and the teachers wanted a comprehensive understanding of the student’s combat abilities. Thus, Damon and the other students had been sparring with each-other all day, and Elanore was the final and strongest opponent Damon faced, as he unfortunately didn’t match up against Antares, Klaus or Sonna.

Elanore took a deep breath, an ominous shadow-esque energy dancing around her voluptuous body like malevolent spirits.

~BOOM~

In a flash, Elanore sent a surge of malevolent dark magic crashing towards Damon. The Dimension Eater didn’t panic however, his eyes staring at the dark magic with almost an impossible level of calmness and disdain. BloodReaper flashed in his hand, and cut. through the dark magic like tissue paper, a flicker of elegance in his step as he moved forward towards Elanore.

"Is that all you got? You’re gonna need more than that if you want to be anything special in my eyes." Damon’s words were cruel. He had obviously known about Elanore’s feelings towards him, and was attempting to use those feelings to ignite a flame of determination in her and gauge her power.

As they clashed, the air seemed to erupt in a symphony of magic. Damon’s sword, a masterpiece of craftsmanship and enchantment, danced through the air, meeting Elanore’s spells with swift parries. The Arena itself became a canvas for their duel, mana swirling in a chaotic ballet as the elemental forces clashed.

As expected, the unmistakable bloody aura filled the battle area. Elanore’s eyes glowed as her power reached its limit. Her eyes flashing with determination. She wanted to prove to Damon, and to everyone else, that she was more than worthy.

"BloodWorld!" Elanore’s words were laced with malice, a gigantic world like orb filled with blood appeared in Elanore’s hands and crashed onto the arena, filling the floor with blood. The blood viscously flooded towards Damon in the forms of weapons.

Blood Chains, Blood Daggers, Blood Spears, Blood Swords, all of which crashed towards Damon at an unimaginable speed with the intent to kill.

Damon chuckled and decided to get a little serious, at least to show everyone the difference between himself, and their levels of power.

"Void Descent!" Damon muttered, and his Eyes Of Oblivion appeared, his pupils flashing purple as the power of Space, Time and Void descended onto the arena. In an instant, everything froze, all the chains, daggers, spears and more made of blood froze.

A ethereal, deadly void power wrapped all of the weapons Elanore made, crushing them to oblivion. This was the power of the Void, a power unimaginable to most.

Damon didn’t stop there however. A snap of a finger and deadly Light Chains erupted from the ground and crashed down from the sky, ruthlessly ensnaring Elanore in their grip. The Vampire struggled against the restraints, but it proved futile.

"Reckoning!" Damon muttered, and the battle ended. A tyrannical force washing through the arena, shaking the very floor everyone stood on as it crashed into Elanore, sending her flying, powerlessly in defeat.

Damon flashed and caught her in his hands. Watching her face closely, he could see she had indeed past out from her injuries in defeat, a sly smirk still on her face, as if she expected this outcome. Damon chuckled and handed her to the Medics, passing on a message for Elanore to meet him once he had awakened before leaving the room, the class finally finished.

In a different part of the Academy not too long after Damon’s class had taken place, a discussion was happening.

Sylvia Atlantis, Damon’s HomeRoom Teacher and the Mermaid Princess, was elegantly seated as she chatted with the person opposite to her, Blaze Flandre, Principal of Austonia Academy and the Flame Empress.

"How is he?" Blaze asked, a blood red wine in her hand as she elegantly drank it while discussing with Sylvia.

"It’s as everyone said. Unmatchable combat power, perfect foundation, and a High Realm. Sapphire’s son is essentially perfect." Sylvia responded, an air of respect in her eyes as she talked about Damon.

"That high of praise? Even Sapphire herself when she was young couldn’t get that much praise out of you right?" Blaze responded, a hint of surprise in her eyes as she heard Sylvia talk.

Everyone influential had heard the rumors about Damon, and they all acknowledged his act of putting his name on the 4 Obsidian Rolls, but seeing was believing, and Blaze trusted Sylvia’s recognition of Damon.

"I can’t even see through his realm, but I can sense his perfect foundation. Also, I can tell he only use a small fraction of his power and decimated his opponents. You’d have to see it for yourself. However, I believe if he can’t complete the task Sapphire asked, no-one can." Sylvia responded, taking a sip of the wine herself.

Blaze sighed and spoke, "This problem has been occurring in the Academy long before I took control, and there’s been so many problems I’ve barely gotten time to find the root cause, which is why Sapphire probably asked to let her son take over the task. Tell that Elanore to pass on the message to Damon that the Principal would like to meet him."

Damon was currently briskly walking to the Principal’s Office after being called there. It was around an hour after Elanore had finally awaken after her injuries were healed. Damon chatted with her for a short while, making sure she was okay before Elanore informed him the Principal, Blaze, had called for him.

In truth, Damon didn’t know what to think about Blaze. The Flandre’s weren’t exactly the best family in his eyes. His father was non-existent, his Cousins seemingly hated him and others just ignored his existence. Damon’s only true tie to that family at this point was through blood, and he was interested to see Blaze’s thoughts at this moment.

Damon had finally arrived at the Principal’s Office and entered, spotting Blaze elegantly seated at her desk. In front of her desk held two ( 2 ) chairs. Sylvia was currently seated at one of them, and Damon briskly locked the door and seated himself at the other.

Blaze took a sip of wine, this time it was purple coloured, before speaking, "I heard you wanted to create a Neutral Faction. This will be difficult you know. There’s alot of interests involved in Factions."

"I know this is not what I was called for. I heard you are a good friend of my Mother, I’m sure she’s told you my personality." Damon said, pouring himself a glass of wine and taking a sip of it. It was sweet and delicious, and Damon could feel it had the magical effect of clearing one’s mind.

"Lets get to business. There’s been a problem occurring in this Academy long before I took office, and with recent years, it’s gotten worse and worse. Usually, I won’t have the time to look into this myself, but with Sapphire’s request, she wanted us to work together to solve it." Blaze said, piquing Damon’s interest. It was not everyday a problem occurred that his Mother couldn’t just crush with her strength.

Damon looked at Blaze as if waiting for her to define the problem.

"Over the years, students in the Academy had been getting mysteriously killed while out on expeditions. This has been occurring since I myself was a Student. It started as random deaths during expeditions which the school paid no mind too, as it was common for people to die exploring. But eventually, after recovering some of the students bodies, we found a similarity." Blaze said, her eyes deeply serious at this time before continuing,

"Most students who died had very little bodily injuries. In fact, most of their bodies were in pristine condition, and they showed no sign of torture, same with their World Spirits. This meant they were directly killed by their Soul. After investigating, we found that all dead students had the Aura of Illusions and Darkness surrounding their dead bodies but no manipulated Mana. Meaning they were killed using Racial Abilities tied to Illusions and Darkness." Blaze said.

At this time, Sylvia perked up and spoke, "If you can’t see the connection as of yet. Demons are the only Race with an instinctive power for Illusions and Darkness, particularly Incubus, Succubus and Vampires and no Demons have died in this way as of yet. The General Public is still unaware, but many high class influential persons have begun pushing for the complete expulsion of Demons from the school due to the similarities in Death. According to all gathered knowledge, the Demon Race are the only ones who can kill in this manner as only Demons have Racial Abilities of this type."

Damon furrowed his brows as he immediately spotted the issues in the situation.

"If Demons are expelled from attending the Academy. Your Races influence will drop drastically. The Academy isn’t only a place to build connections, it is the most efficient place for cultivating juniors into strong warriors and soldiers in the World. Over 50% of the Military Power of all races are graduates from the Academy. This is because only the Academy has the resources to train so many persons, due to the collaboration of races gathering resources. Although the effects won’t be immediate, after a while, the Demon Race will essentially lose most Low-Mid level combat power, and your high level combat power will also be reduced drastically. I don’t need to speak anymore surely?"

Damon took another sip of his wine, his expression had gotten extremely serious. After reincarnating in this World, Damon’s staunchest and most supportive allies had always been Demons. They were his family, his race, and he couldn’t imagine the consequences if a tragedy were to occur.

"Sapphire wants you to investigate. She believes some Demons are also involved in this, hoping to overthrow her and Argus and become lackeys to other Races for power and influence. She asked us with helping you as this problem has too serious implications for the World Peace and Stability. Do you have anything to say?" Sylvia said

"Has anyone died in this way in the Academy as of yet?" Damon’s curiously inquired, surprising both Sylvia and Blaze. They hadn’t expected Damon’s first question to be that, but they still responded.

"Yes, but it’s very infrequent. The last one happened over 100 years ago. But everyone who dies in this manner is extremely prominent. The last one was one of your Father’s favorite Nieces." Blaze responded.

Damon immediately spoke, "We’re already late. Demons are the major suspects, and according to your description. It only takes one major incident for everything to blow up and major political suppression to be put onto the School to expel all Demons. Our Race obviously isn’t the one doing the killing, yet someone is managing to kill students in their dreams without manipulating Mana and using the Illusion / Dream Element. Now, the two most prominent young Demons, Sonna and myself have entered the Academy. And everyone knows I’m half Incubus. This means...."

"If someone prominent dies, you two will be the easiest suspects." Blaze said, going to continue the conversation before a random teacher barged into the Office.

Blaze’s aura flared angrily as she was about to reprimand such a disrespectful actions, but they teacher barely managed to squeak out,

"Principal Flandre, Rosalyn Neverwinter and Achilles have both been killed in the Dream Illusion Killing Technique!"
