Chapter 752: Chapter 750: MAKING FRIENDS 4

With the introductions out of the way, another topic was introduced.

"Last time, we didn’t get to talk much since it was an important day, but now that we have gathered together, how about we share more about each other while we wait for food to be served?" Sean suggested as he looked at everyone, though his gaze lingered more on Waylon, who nodded briefly before looking at his phone.

Ruby looked at Sean with agreeing eyes. She didn’t know much about this group of friends at all. She knew that they knew some about her, though it wasn’t much. Since Diamond had the whole family’s information hidden. Only the basic information was what everyone would find on them and nothing else.

Besides, she was really curious about why Waylon was working part time at a restaurant. If she wasn’t mistaken, he should be rich, right?

Or was she mistaken?

Anyway, none of the people present were against Sean’s suggestion, so they started this information game in earnest.

To make it more fun, they decided to play a bottle game. A bottle is spun and whoever gets pointed asks the question. It was a fun method of playing the game and no one was against the idea.

With everyone agreeing on that, the game started and the first person who got lucky to ask was Luke.

"Um .... Um," he cleared his throat exaggeratedly, with his eyes narrowed like a sly fox while looking at everyone.

One of the rules of the game was that the question would apply to everyone and not just one person. That way, the game wouldn’t last long but be done with quickly.

Seeing his actions, the three people who knew him suddenly became worried that Luke was up to something and whatever it was, it wouldn’t be too good. However, since the game was already on, there wasn’t any way out for them anymore. So, they could only continue with the game.

"Do you have a lover?" Luke asked slyly, as he looked at the three other people sitting with him.

Seeing his playful gesture, those who knew him knew that he was looking for trouble. However, since the question had been asked, everyone had to answer.

Ruby’s eyes nearly lit up when she heard that question. That question was truly helpful to her if everyone answered the truth. There were certain questions that as a girl, she couldn’t dare to ask a guy. Unlike Diamond, who had thick skin and was capable of telling her lover that she was going to have many lovers, she didn’t have such courage.

So as soon as the question was asked, she didn’t mind about others and hurriedly answered, "I don’t have one!" hoping to hear Waylon’s answer as quickly as possible.

Sean smiled knowingly at Luke and answered next, "I also don’t have!" and Luke nodded as if in agreement.

Following Sean, Sophie answered as she looked shyly at Sean, her thoughts visible to everyone to see. ’I also don’t have!"

Her gaze made Ruby freeze for a moment as it finally dawned on her why Sophie had always been hostile to her. She didn’t understand it previously, but after seeing that gaze, she knew that Sophie was in love with Sean.

Sean showed interest in her at the club, and that might have upset Sophie. And doing what every girl knows how to do, she dared confront her and tried to bully her to vent her anger. Unfortunately, she had no idea that she was suffering simply because Sean took a look at her.

Thankfully, she wasn’t that interested in Sean. So even though Sean claimed to have no partner, that didn’t affect her much. Waylon’s answer was what mattered, and her heart was literally racing wildly in anticipation.

The other three all looked at Waylon, waiting for his answer. Waylon looked at these three people and, seeing those calculative gazes, he knew that he couldn’t run away no matter what. At the same time, he was also grateful that Luke asked that question. Perhaps things would be sorted once this dinner was over.

After settling his thoughts, he smiled at everyone before his gaze lingered a bit on Ruby and answered, "I have a girlfriend. We have been together for nearly three years now."

Boom!

Ruby didn’t know how the game continued and finished. She didn’t even remember how the food tasted and how she got back to her studio apartment. But all she knew was that her love had crashed before she could even show it.

Recalling everything that was connected to Waylon, Ruby hugged herself in the blankets and cried a river.

"We have been together for nearly three years now!"

"Talking about sis-in-law, when are you planning on taking things further? You are both graduating pretty soon."

"Indeed! You need to give her some sense of security. Are you going to keep on working here?"

"You know I have always wanted to do this. This is my dream!"

"Anyway, just don’t disappoint her. You have been together through thin and thick, after all!"

Listening to the conversation and playful banter between the friends, Ruby knew that Waylon wasn’t lying. He was indeed taken and working at the restaurant.

Ruby felt stuffy and her heart ached badly. Although she didn’t confess her feelings to Waylon, she had a feeling that everyone at the table knew about her feelings. Otherwise, why did they start that game with that question?

Although she had made friends through the dinner, her heart was shattered, and it hurt a lot.

She couldn’t even call her sister and vent her frustrations. Who knows what her sister would do to Waylon when he didn’t do anything wrong?

At the same time, she was afraid of sharing this embarrassing thing with anyone.

So, she could only cry herself to sleep.

While Ruby’s heart was hurting, Waylon was looking at Sean with a helpless expression. Wondering how he ended up playing with such a thick-skinned friend in the first place.

"Are you that happy?"

"Um, I am!" Sean showed his white teeth, his eyes squinting as he looked at Waylon.

Waylon rolled his eyes at him, picked a glass of wine and took a sip before responding, "You truly have a weird way of chasing someone, don’t you?"

"Tough times require tough plans. Anyway, she would not think about you forever now that she knows about your relationship!"

"But there should be a better way than that, right?"

"She is stubborn. Just like her sister!"

"Since you know that, why did you go ahead and do it? Aren’t you afraid that she might shut her heart?"

"Even if she does that, I am very patient. Lon, this is the first time that I have wanted someone so badly. I will do everything in my power to make her look at me and love me willingly!" Sean said solemnly, determination flickering in his eyes.

When Waylon heard that, he couldn’t help but look at his friend with a complicated gaze. They have known each other for years and amongst them, it could be said that Sean didn’t take life seriously. He was too playful.

Perhaps it was the fact that he wasn’t the heir and wouldn’t be taking the family business in the future. He wasn’t the serious person that he would advise his siblings to fall for but since he was his friend, he would always stand with him.

He just didn’t expect that Sean was really serious about Ruby that much. When they first met, Waylon simply thought that he was enamored by her beauty. After all, the Perry sisters were very beautiful, and that wasn’t something up for debate.

However, listening to him now, Waylon was starting to see that the way he was perceiving his friend was wrong. Perhaps Sean was a goner just like how was. However, unlike him, who could only suppress his feelings because of his situation, Sean was like a free bird and would pursue the woman his heart was racing for in the open.

Suddenly, Waylon felt envious of Sean.

He closed his eyes as he took a deep breath before opening them, his gaze filled with resolution, and said to Sean, "Then I hope that you will pursue her in earnest. If you are not serious, then don’t play with her feelings. Otherwise, I am afraid that Diamond’s unknown wrath everyone is looking forward to seeing would land on you first!"

When Sean heard that, his eyes softened. As his brother’s brother and friend, he understood him pretty well. It was rare to hear Waylon supporting and advising him sternly like that. Of course, he understood that Waylon was doing that for his own good.

If he didn’t mean it, he wouldn’t bother to poke the hornet’s nest.

"Don’t worry. I know my limits!"

"That’s good! Now talking about your girlfriend, what are your plans for your third anniversary?" Sean asked, with sparkling eyes full of curiosity and gossip.

Waylon, hearing that, rolled his eyes at Sean before looking away, his eyes filled with guilt that couldn’t be expressed.

’I will make it up to her grandly!’ he inwardly vowed, thinking about how he had wronged her with his wavering feelings these past few months.

He understood that it was wrong for him to develop feelings for someone else when there was that girl who was by his side from day one. But sometimes emotions tend to enslave others and he was in a crisis.

He was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Anyway, in a few weeks, the truth would be laid bare in front of her. He just hoped that would make up for the times that he wronged her.

She wouldn’t be that mad at him after knowing the truth, right?

He could only sigh as he left that for the future, though he was filled with hope.
