Chapter 868: Chapter 866: FRIN CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT

A few hours later, Richard snapped his eyes open, and he was startled when he saw where he was.

’Wasn’t I on the floor?’

He nervously thought as he looked around, but when he thought that there was Diamond in the house, he suddenly calmed down. His mind was then reminded of what he was doing before he blacked out.

’I took a pill!’

Remembering that, he hurriedly climbed down the bed and dashed to the bathroom. When he stood in front of the full-length mirror, a smile blossomed on his face as he saw some changes.

He seemed to have grown taller and his body had strength that wasn’t there before.

Thinking about testing his strength, he went to the gym where he picked several weights and suddenly, he found himself much of a pro.

Richard couldn’t stop grinning sheepishly like a fool upon seeing how strong he was. Now he didn’t have to worry about anyone causing trouble for him. He could fight more people on his own now without the need for his bodyguards.

However, he didn’t plan to fight a lot. After all, why should he fight?

Big girls barely get themselves in trouble.

Anyway, after accepting the new profound power, he freshened up and went to find Diamond. The other party was already dressed and her bags were already packed.

The two enjoyed their morning chat and had a heartfelt breakfast.

After breakfast, Richard sent Diamond to the airport reluctantly, but when he thought about how busy she was, he could only suppress his reluctance.

"It was great seeing you again in person. Let’s do something like this soon!" before she boarded the plane, Diamond said that to Richard.

On her flight to the capital city, Diamond was all smiles, thinking about the few days she spent with Richard. Although it was short, she was in a good mood.

Being able to see her friend, have a chat face to face and the like, was truly different from chatting on the phone.

She was then reminded of how she once said to herself that she would do her best to find time for her friends, but alas, that hadn’t been working pretty well.

’I guess I need to spare some time and just have some fun with friends and not work,’ she surmised as she felt her temples throbbing.

Anyway, the first flight went pretty well. After getting to Dielas City, she waited for an hour before she boarded the flight to Frin City.

Two hours later, she arrived in the city and Kiara was there to pick her up this time.

"Miss, we shall be heading straight to FPD," Kiara reported as she smoothly drove the car on the road.

Diamond nodded in agreement when she heard that and asked, "Is everything in order?"

"Yep. We have gathered all the evidence. If Agatha refuses to accept condition A, we can smoothly send her to prison for a few years," Kiara confidently said, and Diamond didn’t miss hearing that in her tone.

Her lips curled upwards at the thought of sending Agatha to prison. That would be fun, to be honest.

"What about the guy?"

"He is still in holdup, but he hasn’t contacted anyone. I believe that we will get something good from him. I had a chat with him and he should cave in," Kiara calmly responded, as if she wasn’t the one who slapped Paul with blackmailing content in the police station.

"That’s good. Let’s hope that none of these people would play games with me again!"

She truly hated people who try to take advantage of others. If they hated her, why not just come after her?

Who said that people should always be blackened in the same manner every single time?

If she didn’t have any evidence or was strong. She would have been tormented by netizens and become an evil person in their eyes by now. Thankfully, she wasn’t that weak.

Diamond listened to Kiara reporting on the other issues related to the embezzlement, and she noted everything down seriously.

FRIN CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Diamond was making her way to the police station, being minutes away from the station. At the station, inside an office, the captain was sitting with several officers busy having a serious talk.

"Have you all finally come to an agreement or you are still thinking?" the captain asked as he looked at the several figures with him.

The captain was a man in his fifties with a slightly chubby face and clear-looking eyes. At a glance, he looked like the kind of person that could be trusted, which was true.

"Captain, this idea still sounds good, but will she agree?"

"I don’t think that she will refuse. She loves this city. Moreover, had she ever done anything that goes against the law?"

"This ....." how could that be answered?

There were some minor issues, but they have all turned a blind eye.

The captain smiled upon seeing that no one was answering.

"I understand that some of you might still be procrastinating, but we really need her this time. Whoever is behind her, that kind of tech is something that will help us. And in order to access it, we can only do this unless you are confident that you can complete the mission that we were given solely by our skills!"

When the captain said that, several officers’ expressions darkened as they thought about the mission that wasn’t even 10% complete. The year was nearly halfway and at the rate they were going, when the year ended, they would surely be scolded and get demerits. The thought of that, they weren’t in a good mood at all.

The captain, seeing his provocation working, pretended to be ignorant and continued to add, "So, everyone thinks very fast. She should be here in a moment. We need to find that answer if we need to have these whole problems solved peacefully and perhaps cheaper than we expect!"

The office was filled with a sombre tension for a moment before someone uttered, "I will vote for yes."

And once that one vote was cast, the remaining officers didn’t have any objections.

The captain smiled slyly upon seeing that, feeling relieved inwardly.

Ring. Ring.

However, before he could address the officers who had worked hard to cast a vote, the phone started to ring.

He hurriedly picked it and the other person on the phone said something which made his eyes light up before putting the telephone back.

The captain looked at the officers and smilingly said, "She is here. Please prepare the conference room. We will be using it once she is done meeting with the culprits later."

When the officers heard that, they began to get busy.

Meanwhile, outside the police station, several officers craned their necks as they watched curiously as several black SUVs parked in the empty slots.

’Who is coming with such fanfare? It can’t be the mayor, right?’ these were some thoughts of those who were around.

After all, it wasn’t every day that they got to see such a convoy at the police station. The police station was a place that a lot of people tend to stay away from.

Whoever comes with much fanfare, the person should be a big shot.

While they pondered about who was who, the people from the SUVs alighted from the cars and they were bodyguards. They were dressed in all black and wore t-shirts written HOPE FORCE GUARDS at the back with a menacing logo in front.

They all looked very strong. Some of these young officers were very envious upon seeing that.

In one of the cars, one of the bodyguards opened the backseat door and a pair of pretty legs clad in blue jeans made an appearance first.

’So, it’s a woman. But who could it be?’

As that question was swirling in their minds, the person finally made an appearance and jaws were dropped to the ground.

They might be ignorant when it comes to everything, but when it comes to FPD, there is one person that they would always recognize. That was more so for the police officers and staff who remained up to date with the city’s events.

That person was considered a special person, and even the traffic department had to be involved whenever she was out there cruising in her cars. This special treatment wasn’t even given to those rich heirs from the six families.

Although it wasn’t in the open why she was treated that way, that was already the case. To think that the person was finally coming to the police station, some of the younger officers couldn’t contain themselves. They hurriedly shared the news in the group chats.

As a result, by the time Diamond reached the door, everyone in the station knew about her arrival.

Diamond had done a lot of wrongdoings that might even get her sentenced to death or something similar. She wasn’t a saint, not a good person and wouldn’t be one in the future as long as people continue to irk her, though she would try her best to do good.

It was her first time entering the police station, and the feeling was quite thrilling, to be honest.

It was the kind of thrill that a killer has whenever he or she returns to the crime scene, facing all these officers doing their best to find clues to catch him or her and yet remain unaware that he or she was at the scene with them.

It gave her the thrill of getting away with murder. She had a smile as she stepped inside the station and received gazes from the officers inside, though they tried to pretend as if they weren’t interested. Diamond felt like she was floating, but she kept a humble smile as she followed Kiara without saying a single word.
