Chapter 157: The Tale Of The First Magical Vampire {5}

Nicklaus stood in a white solitary background, he just entered the border and found himself here, it seems like getting to the Holy Library won’t be an easy feat. He sighed looking around, no path or portal opened for him, how was he gonna get there... he was the chosen, wasn’t he? This seemed to be more difficult just like he hoped, candies don’t exactly fall from the skies, and he will have to obtain them through sheer strength and wit if he has to.

He began walking on the white path, although it didn’t seem like he was walking because the area wasn’t moving, this truly was an endless white background, but he just kept going, his eyes scanning for any open path or crack or more a portal, he wasn’t gonna give up not when he has come this far, he will find the Holy Library and obtain power, he will set on his goals no matter what, backing down on wasn’t exactly an option for the moment he stepped into the border there was no going back, he will certainly find the anchor that tether to the Library.

At the sudden rush of determination, his eyes gleamed the brightest green color, noticing his eyes were doing such, something he had never experienced before he came to a halt.

"What’s happening to my eyes?" he said, vampires eyes when their beast surface was black, not what was happening to him right now, so what could this be? This wasn’t normal, something was happening to him and he knew it, something magical? He felt something soft drop on his face, brushing against his cheek and turning to pieces, soft and cold? He looked up because it came from above and then he saw bits of snow suddenly descending. It was snowing right now, was he perhaps doing this? But he was certain that he wasn’t, his mood was controlled. And then the realization struck him.

"It’s the Holy library," he said for certain as his eyes narrowed, it gotta be it because... because he can feel it, a strong cold... not a strong energy and he will trace it. He began walking further hoping to find the source, that was the anchor, he was feeling the anchor leading to the library, he has finally found it... if he could just follow where the snow fell the hardest and where the cold was more, that will most certainly be the source, the source of the Holy library.

The cold wind became harsher that almost blinded his eyes, the whistling cold air along with snow, his shoes march into a cold puddle and then he looked down, snow puddles were now on the floor, which means he was getting close to something, that must be the crack and it got colder, although he was a vampire and normal cold didn’t phase him, he was the bringer of cold itself, but this particular cold got to his bones, he could feel it, they were freezing, surprisingly enough for him he felt very cold.

He pulled the hood of his cloak to cover his head, using the cloak to cover his body more away from the cold. As he sauntered further it got colder, the strong wind blustering with snow harsher and the more difficulty he walked with the snow puddles, marching on them with the force for they were too much and wasn’t making it easy for him to work.

His teeth chattered as he folded his arms together and kept going ahead although it felt like he couldn’t feel his legs anymore, they were becoming still from the cold and they were shocking, a tingling sensation that caused him to shiver more, and his teeth chattering endlessly, so this was what being cold felt like, he knew that feeling now and it was chaotic.

Every strength and force he used to walk further, although the puddles on the ground were restraining him from doing so, he was drawing much snow with every step, the puddle of the snow reached his knees, it was deep very deep.

He suddenly stumbled and fell flat on the snow, it buried him as the bluster continued to move. His body move and he forced his face away from the snow as he tried to regain his breath, the snow almost choked the life out of him there, he coughed painfully trying to get the snow off his body, his body weaken, he might be a vampire but he was still a maturing one.

He laid on his back, his weak eyes met the white skies, he hadn’t realized it, he was no longer at the border but in this new world that was about to kill him.

Will he die right now? Without finding the library? He was chosen. He was supposed to find it but the first and the last didn’t exactly mean he would find it. Maybe the first and the last meant he would die trying and be the last to ever sort the library. He surely must have heard it wrong, because this was it, the cold had already gone through his insides and he was freezing from the inside out.

Magnus Nicklaus Darkmore seems like his death is evident now. ’I couldn’t reach my goal’ his eyes leisurely closed as darkness slowly found him. ’Clelia was right... I have only darkness in my path... death’ his eyes close.

I covered my mouth, my trembling eyes on Nicklaus. "Did you..." I began not knowing what to say. "Did you die?"

An amusement crossed his lips. "If I did, would I be right here right now?", he raised an eyebrow.

"Then what happened, what happened to you?!" I demanded an explanation, although this was what happened for millennia, my heart was cut, he was just five years old and he went on an impossible journey to obtain power for his people, so that he may find a home. "Nicklaus!" I surely could not keep my patience anymore because I wanted him to continue.

"Relax my love... I’m still telling my tale" he said, caressing my cheeks gently, I leaned in his touch. "And I intend to finish it", he drew me back to his arms, in a loving embrace and then I smuggled more to it. "Just don’t move when I keep narrating" he whispers to my ears. Yes, I was moving a lot nowhere, and there as he told his tale I just couldn’t sit still with all this.

"Well, I’m afraid I would whenever your tale gets to the hurtful part" I admitted, Nicklaus’ tale wasn’t exactly a pleasant one as I hoped, there were challenges and a lot of intense actions.

"gods you’re so stubborn" he commented in amusement and loves it as I’m told, it always fascinates him.

"It must have been painful" I began with wistful eyes. "In that snow, in the cold, alone, not knowing the path, the wind blowing and you’re unable to see what’s up ahead, you must have so lost", my eyes shocked as my hand subconsciously tightened on his jacket like I could feel his pain when all this happened millenniums ago, it felt fresh and so real, guess this was part of being his mate.

"I have always loved the cold, the snow to be exact, the wind because they were one of my favorite seasons but I think I hate it now for letting you experience such dreadful fate," I said, the anger evident in my tone.

"You can’t hate what you love, My love"

I raised my head to face him, a faint smile on his lips. "I did die in that snow"

I frowned at his words, my eyes trembling.

"But then it was like I was brought back to life by a warmth"

"A warmth?"

"Yes... at first, I do not know what it was but I think it was the spirit of the Holy Library that was found" he said.

"A spirit of the Holy Library? I didn’t read of that"

"Well I’m the one who knows the library back and forth... now would you listen to me?" he mused as his eyes glittered and then I saw those red in them more, his eyes were so beautiful and I will always be lost in them.

I nodded eagerly. "Good wildfire"

Lying on the cold painful snow, death had already found him, or so he thought. He remained still, his eyes close, his hands spread out and exposed to the cold until then he felt extreme warmth, he didn’t know what it was or where it came from he just felt it and then a soft brush on his nose, soft and warm, he wanted so badly to open his eyes but he couldn’t, he was just too weak, he felt something laid on him, something petite and from that action, the ice within his body was slowly melting and fresh warmth overcame his body.

Whatever this thing was, it was saving him, and then he felt something wrap around his body and it felt like... fur?
