Chapter 159: The She-Fox

Nicklaus took a sniff of his armpit and he growled displeased at the smell, he really needed a bath. The smell was just so awful, how has he held up until now? Judging by his calculations it seems years have passed.

At the sudden sound like something dropped to the ground, he turned, his eyes narrowing.

"I know it you," Nicklaus said sternly, he knew it was no other than the Fox, she has always been watching him ever since he was here reading and studying, she thought she was doing a good job in hiding from his sight but she was not doing a good job at all, he could easily spot her anywhere, she was just too obvious. The library must have told her to watch over him, not that he minded, she should just do her job more professionally.

The Fox slowly came out of hiding, her tail swamping back and forth behind her. Nicklaus raised an eyebrow. She came forth at him but at close range she covered her nose with her paws, shaking her head.

Nicklaus realized he really does stink. With a nudge of her head, she signaled him to follow her.

Nicklaus gave her a prolonged stare not attempting to do so. The Fox sighed before rolling her eyes, well this fox has some attitude. She pointed her paw at him before waving it close to her nose, a sign meaning he really stinks and then she nudged her head.

"I see... you want to take me to a bath?"

She nods her head, grinning showing her fox teeth.

"Alright then... show me"

The Fox lead him through the lobby, Nicklaus had no idea where they were going, he seemed lost, they have made so many turns already that he couldn’t keep up, so he just followed the Fox closely, knowing if he do not he might get lost and never be found... that was a mere fact.

A medium-size door barged open and they strolled inside, the Fox had led him outside where a stream was in, the water spilling from the rocks, the grasses, and then up ahead, the snow season, the stream was a beautiful sight. And the moon was at its highest, full, and shone on the stream making it seem magical.

The Fox walked ahead and then pointed to the river smiling.

"A bath," Nicklaus said breathlessly, he never realized how much he needed one until now, before he knew it he was already stripping.

The fox’s eyes went wide, and her honey orbs were centered on him, as he peeled every bit of his clothing away from his body, Magnus was surely not the same 5-year-old he was, he was grown everywhere.

She blushed deeply as she finally found the courage to cover her eyes. She heard him step further and her heart slammed loudly in her chest, she heard the water splash and then she realized he was in now. She leisurely removed her paws from her eyes and then turned to see him in the stream, she smiled.

Nicklaus sighed in relief feeling relaxed, finally a bath to ease his muscles. His eyes moved to the fox who stared at him dreamy like he was some god.

He cringed, the fox noticing she was staring for too long she shook her head and then rose a shaving blade, grinning.

"Not only a Librarian I see... you’re some Fox" Nicklaus shrugs, turning and then moving his overly long Hair for her to cut, but she also began doing so. He was surprised as she steady at the cut, she acted almost human?

"You’re the first smart creature I have seen... I wonder what it would be like if they had more" And then his eyes widened in realization at the interesting theory, she made a fox sound behind him.

"That’s how you thought about the creation of werewolves," I said elatedly.

Nicklaus nods with a smile. "From then onward, I acquired so much knowledge more than I could ever imagine, and then a 100 years passed"

"You were there for 100 years" My eyes widened, 100 years acquiring knowledge from the Holy library.

"I gained the power I needed so it was time to return to my people, but one particular fox was upset"

"Aww did you see her before you left?"

He shook his head. "I didn’t... I wasn’t able to see her before I left, I didn’t know why and I was still my old self cold and distant so I didn’t much care"

"That’s awful of you!" I barked.

He laughed. "As I said my love I was my old self, you can’t blame me"

"I wish you saw her before you left, she must have been in that library for so long, and when she finally saw someone she could see every day, You were practically like a dream come true and she gets to experience things she hasn’t before, you were priceless to her and someone she thought as chosen and-" I paused.

Nicklaus’ eyes narrowed at me, staring at me with so much intensity, I covered my mouth with my hands, my eyes shocking. Why did I sound like that? Like I knew exactly how the Fox felt.

"You sound like..." Nicklaus paused.

"Fox to Fox I guess, I think I understand her feelings because she’s a Fox just like me," I said with a shrug, what else could explain what I just did? The feeling I had was real and so deep that I thought it to be mine, the only explanation was because she was a Fox just like me.

"Right," Nicklaus said but he still seemed puzzled.

"So that’s how the great Magnus god of vampires came to be," I said, wrapping my arms around his neck, still in the sitting position we were in.

"Yes my love, after I returned the elder was already gone"

"Really?"

"They only last 100 years, guess why I finally understood they were breeding us to take their place. At my arrival, the future of the vampires was certain, created a Realm for my people, and then as I planned I created the werewolves colony as familiars to assist not just Vampires but Mortals known as warlocks. Beowulf was the first"

"That explains it all" I mused.

"Now wife, enough of a tale... for you have heard everything you need to know about me, now it’s time for us", his hands straddling my waist.

"Yes indeed, I still wonder what’s it’s like to be in the Holy library"

"It’s truly a grand experience, the knowledge you could never imagine was before my eyes and I couldn’t even finish... I just obtained my magic and the requirements, I did mean staying there for long but I knew my people needed me so I had to leave"

My eyes saddened, I was still thinking about how that Fox felt when he left, how sad and downhearted she must have been, but I quickly shove the feeling off. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"The next I became the first Emperor and a master to my people, I taught them all they needed to know about magic and more"

"They must really respect you for that... Magnus Nicklaus Darkmore" I mused.

"And as I said I was my old self, histories merely shock at my name even in the Sun Realm I was known, I only cared about my people and nothing more, rumors spread fast in the Realm as well as me being the first and last to ever been in the Holy Library, people fear me for that and also respected me, I was the bringer of darkness for I did not learn good magic, I learned the dark ones for I’m its founder, my abilities to control the weather with my mood became stronger and as it did I lose my humanity, unable to feel or assess emotions, I’m still that part of myself"

My eyes were shocked, taking every bit of detail he said, Yes I would lie if I said I didn’t feel the darkness, but...

"Then I met you, the light in my darkest night, my soul, and then I knew there was someone I could merely flip the universe for... my soul, my heart, and my mate," he said softly as he gently caressed my cheeks.

"The very bane of my existence", our faces mere inches apart. "I want you to know that everything I do is for you, can you understand that?"

"I love you" I replied the only word that was in my head right now.

He smiled and then claimed my lips in a hungry feat. I moaned as the kiss deepened, his tongue roaming within my mouth with ease, he lined my teeth and continued to drown me in his kiss and the next I knew was, I was laying now and he was on top of me.

"Nicklaus! We’re outside, someone might see us" I protested, my eyes moving but I didn’t see anyone, and then the realization struck me, this was a reserved area.

"No one will see us, love," he said before smashing his lips on mine.

It began snowing at that moment.
