Chapter 176: What You Seek

Seeing the scene of the Spirit Forest in the night setting gave it yet another pleasant view. Over time with the gang, I have been engaging with the magical animals, it was a wonderful experience, I got to talk to them and I found myself becoming one with them.

A smile graced my lips as I took off the silk blanket and then I transformed into my wolf, I let the beast within me spin free, letting myself embrace it, I was fast on my paws as I explore the forest in a great run, my nine tails wagging behind me, the cold wind brushing against my silver fur, the moon was at its highest peak, reflecting on the Forest wondrously, and it couldn’t be more breathtaking.

I jumped several times and landed perfectly, and before I knew it I came to a sudden halt just right at the waterfall of truth, I pant slightly, I must have gotten here subconsciously.

I transformed back to my human self, arranging my hair right knowing it was messy doing the run, and adjusted my clothes.

At moonlight the waterfall was pure white, and it looked creamy as I gazed upon it. I moved closer and I heard a hissing sound, belonging to none other than Diablo, wrapped around the tree, he was all shiny due to the moonlight reflecting on his white scales.

"Well a girl has become one with the forest..." he began hissing, his tiny tongue sticking out, he seemed amused. "Does she feel she’s ready?"

I understood what he meant, but I didn’t have an exact answer, I could only speak with my feelings "I do not know if I’m ready, in fact, I have so much work to do..." I knew there was much to do, I believed so, for one cannot be completely ready, only if you deem it so. "I just came here subconsciously" I answered sincerely. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

He made a hmm sound, nodding his head. "Do you know why I keep the other animals away from this waterfall?"

"They say you want to keep it to yourself", my eyes narrowed.

"Is that what they say? Well then what do you think?" he asked me.

"I think there’s more to it than keeping it to yourself, I feel you have a reason"

"Hmm... you’re a smart one"

"So I’m right then"

His eyes fell to the lake. "When you died, the magic here became unstable, any animal who so much as a thought as coming here would have been overwhelmed by the effects, it became dangerous"

"That’s why you kept everyone away," I said with wide eyes, so there was a reason then...

"Yes, young one... As you know I’m the oldest animal here... I was able to sense the effects... I guided this water awaiting you to return" his eyes were on me.

"You were waiting for me? I don’t understand, all the animals here thought I was dead, why do you..." I was lost, I had a feeling he knew something.

"I cannot give you all the answers you seek but I can only give you a reason" he leans toward me, our faces inches apart, he stares at me as if looking deep into my soul "I see a girl is ready to reclaim her past" he mused.

I gulped at his words.

"Are you afraid? I have told you what you have desired ever since you came here..." he tilts his head to the side in question. "Why shaken?"

"I’m-"

"Are you afraid, child? Of what you might see?"

I gulped once again, at this very moment, the means to remember was right in front of me, I had finally embraced myself, and the means to find out the truth about my past was awaiting me, but I was...

"Yes maybe I’m afraid, I’m afraid what I might see might not be pleasant", I said shaky but I stood my ground.

"Hmm... not all our pasts are something we’re willing to face, but it is when we embrace we find truth and meaning as well as a means of moving forward and letting go" he gave way. "Well?"

I took a deep breath stepping close to the waterfall but I didn’t enter yet. My chest rise and fell, my golden orbs centered on the milky stream.

"This Waterfall Of Truth is very powerful, not just memories but all truth will be revealed, even the ones you didn’t ask for, but you should know whatever you see is connected to you, so do not worry"

I couldn’t make sense of what he said but what I did grab was, I might see some things I wasn’t looking for, were my memories further than what I looked for?

"I will be your guide... do not worry, now step inside"

I nodded and did as I was told, I stepped into the water, going in leisurely and the water reached my chest level, I gently slide back and then I sank gradually, this wasn’t like the first when I almost drowned, this was gentle and reassuring, I sank deeper and before I knew it I was deep within but it didn’t feel like I was drowning, I felt relax and also sleepy? Something strong overwhelmed me, I was scared that if I gave in I might lose myself.

"Let the water guide your senses" I heard Diablo’s voice, it was reassuring so I knew it was safe for the water has now been accepted and ready to guide me towards the path of my past.

I will finally remember Nicklaus. My eyelashes felt heavy, and as my consciousness faded the last thing I saw was the full moon and something bright covered my senses.

I was locked within

Nicklaus flashed his dark green eyes, he felt it, the pull and the string attached to it, deep within and he could tell who it belonged to.

"Yelena"

And where her aura came from.

"The Spirit Forest", a smirk found his lips, spreading across it.

"I finally found you"
