Simulation Game: Crisis Management-Chapter 406 - 194: Emergency Landing_2
More than ten seconds passed, and the captain and co-pilot hadn’t taken any action.
He turned his head.
He found that the man in sunglasses was also gripping his seat, looking panicked, fighting against the loss of weightlessness.
Could it not be due to terrorists?
Just as Gu Ji was analyzing whether the fellow accomplices of the man in sunglasses had already infiltrated the cabin, "buzz," the plane suddenly began to decelerate, yaw, and level off, gradually climbing upward.
Under the huge climbing force, objects kept falling down, the luggage compartments overhead in the cabin all burst open, lights flickering on and off, sparking frighteningly, suitcases, cosmetics scattered like a celestial display, the ground was a mess, littered with leftover garbage and blood, and some people lay motionless, their fate unknown.
Was this round of effort all for nothing?
"Dammit!"
Gu Ji’s eyes sharpened, and he cursed through gritted teeth, ready to go all out!
Taking advantage of the aircraft leveling, he decisively unbuckled his seatbelt, grasped the door frame, and dashed into the business class.
Compared to economy class, business class, with fewer people and wider, softer seats, seemed to have almost no injured passengers, except for the fact that, unlike the previous glance, the chief purser Betty and a bald policeman lay unconscious on the ground, likely due to inability to react when the plane suddenly dove while contacting the ground.
Now, only that young and pretty black-haired first-class flight attendant from FAT remained, and she looked bewildered at Gu Ji’s appearance:
"Sir! Please return to your seat immediately! This is extremely dangerous!"
"I-I’m Yasen! I know something about flying, the plane’s sudden dive must mean there’s a problem in the cockpit, please contact the captain immediately, I can help!"
Gu Ji clung tightly to the sofas on both sides of the business class aisle, powering forward step by step, shouting as he went, looking very much like a mountaineer making a final push towards a summit.
This difficulty far surpasses a cruise liner’s anchor failure.
Fortunately, his strength hasn’t diminished, and with "Yasen’s" agility, his lower body and core muscles make it relatively easier to maintain balance.
The black-haired flight attendant pressed her red lips together, seemingly aware that something was wrong with the plane.
But with the purser and policeman both unconscious, she dared not make a rash decision.
While she hesitated,
the fuselage suddenly began shaking violently, with "bang bang bang" sounds from the right side, and the plane instantly lost climbing ability, swaying side to side and descending again.
"The right No.1 engine is damaged! Hurry up! There’s no time to lose!"
"Follow me!"
At the moment when she glimpsed the billowing black smoke through the window, the black-haired flight attendant finally made up her mind, unbuckled her seatbelt, and supporting herself on the cabin wall, made her way to the cockpit door, pressing the intercom button: "Mr. Co-pilot, there’s a Mr. Yasen outside who knows about flying. He wants to come into the cockpit to help, is that okay?"
"Let him in!"
Upon hearing the confirmation from the speaker, the black-haired flight attendant quickly punched in the password, and the cabin door "thumped" open with inertia, allowing Gu Ji to quickly stride in.
But the scene before him made his pupils contract dramatically.
The cockpit was littered with food, the flight control console splattered with blood, a young, slender co-pilot wearing a white short-sleeved shirt with three stripes on the shoulders was desperately clutching the steering yoke with one hand, holding an aeronautical map manual between his legs, sweat covering his forehead.
The middle-aged captain lay beneath the cockpit seat, his mouth and nose bleeding, already a corpse.
"How could the captain..."
"Do you know anything about flying?"
Unexpectedly, the co-pilot didn’t give him a chance to question and immediately inquired anxiously about his skill level.
Gu Ji knew that this was a crucial moment, leaving no room for hesitation.
"I’ve studied! Especially flight courses!"
"That’s great! I’m Bolton, here’s the map! Keep an eye on the heading gyroscope, manual navigation, report to me verbally every half minute!"
The co-pilot freed one hand and tossed the map manual onto him.
Gu Ji quickly sat in the co-pilot seat and fastened the seatbelt.
When he glanced at the flight control console, he understood why Bolton needed him to navigate manually; the radar interface on the console displayed a red "no signal" warning, and not just that, all two GPS antennas and three NAV navigation radios, three COM communication radios fitted in the Boeing 7M8 were all showing red lights.
In other words, this aircraft had completely lost its positioning, navigation, and communication capabilities!
How could this happen?
Commercial airplanes consider all extreme scenarios when designing for safety, which is why they are equipped with multiple systems, so that even if one fails, another serves as a backup.
Yet now, with all radar positioning and communications failing on the plane, it truly defied comprehension.
Even with engines shut down, and generators stalled, the plane can still rely on battery power, and when the main battery malfunctions, there’s a backup one, so a "dual engine failure" shouldn’t affect the use of communications navigation.
"Not long after the captain stepped out of the cockpit, the plane’s communications, radar, and radio positioning suddenly failed completely. I checked and reset the breakers, but there was still no response. The captain suspected it might be the work of terrorists, so he manually took control, aiming to divert to Mazatlan in Mexico..."
In just a few words, Bolton explained the damage process.
Only then did Gu Ji understand.
After the captain manually adjusted the control lever to change the direction, he suddenly died midway, his body pressing the yoke, causing the horizontal stabilizer to adjust downward and resulting in the plane’s dive.
