Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 636 - 635: His Last
"Master?"
Corey's voice echoed in the extremely silent Amphitheatre, and everybody's gaze shifted from the fallen body of Old Man Poison to Corey who stood in one of the Vomitoriums that was at the middle cavea.
Divine, Rosa, Fatty Black Bonez, Dave, Melissa, and Triple X stood in front of the barrier that covered the arena.
They were about to attack the barrier in order to save Old Man Poison but the moment they heard Corey's voice, they paused and looked at Corey.
Because his Eyes of Omniscience was on, he noticed everything that was going on in the Amphitheatre but his mind ignores everything and was entirely on the body of his master.
For a moment, his mind seemed to shut down and the sight of Old Man Poison's seemed to overlap with the bodies of his parents.
Corey's pupils shook and he took a step forward. His body vanished and he appeared before the barrier with his pure white eyes glowing brightly.
His gaze never left the body of Old Man Poison for even a second, but the moment he stood before the barrier, he had no choice but to stop and glance at it.
The barrier was an Immortal grade barrier, a low-level Immortal grade barrier though, which meant that it had Immortal energy, and the moment Corey glanced at the barrier, a part of him was sickened by the thought he had.
Although the barrier was an Immortal grade barrier, he could break the barrier. In fact, he could break the barrier either with his Phantom Plague Axe Intent, with his mana, or with a single punch of his.
The issue with this is that such a thing should not be possible for Corey. As a newly advanced Tier 3, he should not be able to make a single dent on an Immortal grade barrier.
He was certain that if he destroyed the Immortal grade barrier, the commotion it was going to cause was going to be massive.
Due to his actions, he had already attracted so much unwanted attention from powerful Outside organizations. But if he destroyed an Immortal grade barrier as a newly ascended Tier 3, the attention on him would be greater than it used to be.
A mortal destroying an barrier that contained Immortal energy, an Immortal grade barrier, was a feat that should not be possible.
The difference between the Astral realm and the Immortal realm was immense.
Corey knew this, and a part of him was telling him to not destroy the barrier and to leave his master till the barrier went down on its own.
Another part of him was telling him that if he could not do that, he should work with Divine and the rest to break down the barrier. At least if he did that, it would seem like he broke down the barrier with the help of Divine and the rest.
The consequences and aftermath would be drastically reduced.
Such thoughts randomly appeared in Corey's mind, and Corey knew that this was a result of his Stars of Consciousness and his unique mind which usually had hundreds of different thoughts.
Corey felt disgusted by these thoughts because he wanted to feel rage, he wanted his mind to be consumed by anger and rage, he wanted to scream, he wanted to shout, he wanted to let loose.
But his mind... his mind... his mind was too calculating... too controlling for him to make him lose control of his emotions.
He felt disgusted.
Extremely disgusted.
So disgusted by his thoughts to the point that he started to get angry at himself.
"Damn it!"
Corey shouted, and then his pure white eyes glowed brightly. The barrier in front of him transformed, and what he saw was no longer an energy barrier but a network of runes connected by Mystic energy and force, and another type of energy he was not familiar with and he could not comprehend, but he knew was Immortal energy.
A golden line appeared amongst the network of runes and energy, and Corey knew what exactly the golden line was. It was exactly what gave him the confidence to destroy the barrier in a single hit.
Vibration Manipulation
BANG!
The moment Corey's fist collided with the barrier, he used the skill, Vibration Manipulation.
The runes that were coated in gold in Corey's sight vibrated intensely, and in the next second, they shattered into motes of light before disappearing.
Crack
Crack!
CRACK!
It first started as a small crack, but in the blink of a mortal's eye, the crack expanded and the barrier in front of Corey shattered into pieces.
Corey could hear the voices of exclamation and shock from the crowd, but he reacted to none of it. Through his Eyes of Omniscience, he could also see the expressions of Divine and the rest morphing to one of shock and disbelief at his actions.
However, Corey's expression remained the same.
Four seconds had gone by from the moment he stood in front of the barrier, and by the fifth, Corey teleported to Old Man Poison's body.
Corey crouched and his hands moved to touch Old Man Poison's body, but the moment he was about to touch his body, his fingers trembled for a second before he steeled himself and turned his master over.
The moment he did, his pupils shook when he saw the dirt covering his master's face.
He used his sleeves to wipe off the sand from his Master's face. As he did this, he also used placed his other hand on his Master's wounded chest and used Dream Healing on it.
Although he was using Dream Healing at the highest output, he knew that his actions were futile.
His Master was going to die.
He could see it in his Master's soul, he could see that his Master's soul was severely damaged and that his Dream Healing did not have the ability to heal the soul.
One of the abilities he realized he got from his successful evolution to Tier 3 was Soul Perception.
This ability allowed him to see the souls of other people, but he could only use this skill when he used his Eyes of Omniscience.
It was a result of the combination of his Minds Eye to his Cosmic Soul.
Corey's expression was blank but his mind was in chaos.
Cough! Cough!
Old Man Poison coughed, and Corey's expression changed.
"Master!"
"Hmm?" Old Man Poison's eyes fluttered open, and when he saw Corey, a light smile appeared on his face.
"Damn it. I can't believe I allowed you to see me in such a pathetic state."
Corey's lips quivered, and he forced a smile, "You always look pathetic, Master."
Old Man Poison right eye twitched, "Is that something you're meant to say to your Master on his dying bed?"
Corey closed his eyes with a light smile, "I'm just saying the truth, Master."
"Damn it." Old Man Poison cursed, and then he looked away from Corey. "That's why you're single and will always remain single."
This time around, it was Corey's right eye that twitched. Corey was about to speak, but then Old Man Poison looked at him with a smile.
"My time is little, so let me tell you a few things before I die."
Corey remained silent.
"First of all, you don't know my real name and it's not good that my disciple does not know my real name... My real name is Marik Maledro."
Corey raised his brows slightly but didn't say anything.
"Second, don't abandon the path of poison. It has so much potential and if you ever want to abandon it, don't... For my sake at least."
"You're talented, and I know that you'll reach heights I cannot even fathom. It'll be great if my disciple reaches such great heights while still remaining on the path of poison."
"I'd love to see you reach such heights, but unfortunately, that's not possible."
Old Man Poison smiled sadly, and then he released a sigh.
"Also, go to my lab. I left a gift for you there. It's my greatest product till date... I'm sure you'll know what it is."

Corey looked at Old Man Poison when he heard his voice in his mind, and Corey nodded slightly, showing that he understood.
"Good."
Old Man Poison coughed softly, and Corey's hands on his body tightened slightly.
"You were my most talented disciple, unfortunately, I wasn't able to teach you much. I think that would be my greatest regret before I died."
"You taught me a lot, Master... You taught me a lot."
Corey smiled sadly at Old Man Poison, no, at Marik Maledro, and his master smiled back at him.
"That's good... I guess it's time for me to leave this damned world. You can stop healing me now, my stubborn disciple."
Corey closed his eyes, and then he stopped using Dream Healing on his Master.
If one looked at his Master, they would notice that the injuries on his heart were almost fully healed along with the injuries on his body.
It was because of this and the soothing effect Dream Healing had on the spirit that his Master was able to talk for so long, but his soul was rapidly dying.
The moment Corey stopped using Dream Healing, Old Man Poison breathed his last some seconds later.
