Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 706 - 705: The Traitor, Rage & Death (3)
"Because of your uncle, Divine."
The moment Divine heard these words, his expression changed from one of rage to disbelief.
"It- That should not be possible. I killed him. I saw him die!"
Melissa shrugged with a nonchalant expression, "Well, it’s all thanks to your uncle that you’re in this situation. No hard feelings, huh. You guys were actually... fun to be with."
Melissa smiled, and Divine looked at Melissa with fury burning in his eyes. However, just as Melissa turned, Divine looked around, and his eyes fell on the clothes that all thirty individuals were wearing including Melissa.
His eyes widened in realization and he muttered with a tone filled with disbelief.
"Bounty Hunter. You’re a bounty hunter. All of you are bounty hunters."
Melissa paused and looked at Divine with a bit of surprise in her eyes. She was about to speak, but Divine was faster and his words shook not only her but the rest of her allies.
"Black Mandate. I remember now, you guys are part of the Black Mandate. How in the world did my uncle hire you guys. How? It doesn’t make any sense."
Melissa frowned when she heard Divine’s words. She was not the only one, every other member of the Black Mandate also frowned and pointed their guns at Divine.
"You’ve heard of us? How? Your status in the universal should be too low for you to have heard of us."
Divine was about to answer, but Melissa turned and without wasting a single second, she shot at Corey.
"NO!"
Divine screamed, but Melissa indifferently looked at him and spoke.
"Before we continue our conversation, the biggest anomaly must- what?"
Melissa snapped her head at Corey, and her eyes widened in disbelief when she that she had missed.
’I missed? No. He dodged it. This monster.’
Melissa gritted her teeth, and she also noticed something else.
Corey’s eyes had regenerated and even his body was regenerating at an extremely fast speed to her.
The mere fact that Corey was able to regenerate was shocking to her because they had used an anti-mana array around the Neon Headquarters, and with this array, the usage of skills, mana, and even elemental energy should not be possible by any of the Breakers except her and the remaining members of the Black Mandate.
She knew of the regeneration skill. It was extremely rare and sought after even by some elites of the Universe, and it required the usage of mana to be used.
So how was Corey using the skill despite the anti-mana array that was in full effect?
This was the question that was in Melissa’s head as she stared at Corey’s body that was healing at a speed she considered extremely fast due to how severe his injuries were.
’It’s not only the fact that he’s using the Regeneration skill despite the lack of mana in the surroundings, his Regeneration skill is extremely weird.’
’New flesh and bones are not growing from his body, instead, I can see violet and blue sand growing from his injuries. Wherever the violet-blue sand passes through in his body heals his body.’
’What type of skill is that? And does it not use mana?’
’What does it use?’
So many questions and thoughts appeared in Melissa’s mind in the span of two seconds. However, she didn’t allow herself to be overwhelmed by these thoughts.
Without saying a single word, she pointed her pistol at Corey whose cold and calculating eyes were pure white as he stared straight into her eyes.
She frowned, and then she shot multiple times.
Bang!

Bang!
Bang!
As the sound of gunshots faded, Melissa’s voice drifted into the ears of her allies and Divine who was trembling immensely in rage and fear.
"Impossible."
Melissa’s eyes were the widest it had ever been as she looked at Corey who had done the unbelievable to her.
She had fired five shots at Corey’s head, hoping to kill him as quickly as possible before anything out of the ordinary happened.
However, Corey had dodged four bullets and caught the last one which he had not been able to dodge with his teeth.
Although his head, hair, and ears had been grazed by the bullets as he tried to dodge them, he was alive.
"You damn monster."
Melissa’s pupils shook, and she pointed her gun at Corey who spat out the bullet with cold and calculating eyes.
However, the moment Melissa pointed the gun at Corey, a shockwave exploded from behind her.
She cursed underneath her breath, and then she quickly looked behind her to find the source of the shockwave, and when she did, her eyes widened in disbelief.
"You have got to be kidding me."
Standing a few meters in his previous position was Divine, however, he was no longer in chains and his appearance was extremely different compared to before.
Surrounding his body was a burning white flame that strangely reflected the light around him and also froze the ground.
"I trusted you, Melissa. I even loved you and this is how you repay me?"
Divine took slow and calm steps towards Melissa, and Melissa frowned..
Two figures appeared beside her, and without looking at the two figures, she cursed them.
"You useless fools. Despite all the preparations and my warnings, you still couldn’t hold him down?"
"We’re sorry, miss. The energy is completely different and strange. It was able to overpower our Mystic Energy and it almost took our lives in the process."
Melissa glanced at the two Tier 5s who had been standing beside Divine when he was chained.
She noticed that they had both lose an arm, and even part of their torso and legs had severe burns that almost showed their bones.
She frowned when she saw this.
"I never knew that he had this trump card. But it’s to be expected, I expected every one of them to have trump cards. Luckily, only that monster and Divine are the oddities."
Melissa calmly observed Divine as he approached her. Her pupils changed to golden slits, and two seconds later, she gave Divine a charming smile.
"Are you sure you want to do this, Divine. Although you’re using an energy that’s more powerful than mana, your body is currently a wreck."
"You can’t maintain this form for long. Why don’t you stop and just surrender. As a former Breaker, I promise that we won’t kill you and we’ll just offer you to your uncle."
"Who knows, you might survive and find a way to have revenge on him. Don’t lose your life here just because of your anger, Divine."
Divine’s expression remained indifferent, however, everybody could see the rage and killing intent in his eyes as he said these words.
"Are you ready to die?"
