Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 754 - 752: Guardian and Keeper
"Tell me about the Letherions."
Prince Zakar'el remained silent for some time, and with a sigh, he leaned into the throne as he sat on its armrest
"About my people..."
Prince Zakar'el looked up, and with a reminiscent tone, he spoke.
"My people were a race that every being in existence was wary of... Sages, Gods, Immortals, the Old Ones, and even several Eldritch Beings."
"Our ability to manipulate memories was a terrifying ability... Especially the bloodline ability of the royal family which could make those around them to passively forget what they were doing and why they were doing those things."
"We were a race that could not walk amongst the weak or those without a strong mind, spirit, or soul... Our mere presence affected every living creature."
"Whenever there was a great war between good and evil or any other great war, and we were involved in the war... The number one priority of the enemy is to kill every single Letherion that was on the battlefield."
"And this is the funny part... Although we became the number one priority of the enemy, tracking us down is not easy at all... In fact, it's almost impossible."
"My race would would have been the strongest race in reality, but we had one flaw... One major flaw."
Prince Zakar'el placed his foot on the throne's armrest, and then he placed his chin on his knee.
"Our body was weak... our physical strength was weak... Although our mind was extremely powerful, our body was not."
"In fact, our physical body was comparable to the physical bodies of normal humans. No matter what we did, our physical limit was the same as the physical limit of normal humans."
Corey furrowed his brows when he heard this.
He could imagine a race as powerful and unique as the Letherions having a body as weak as humans.
If placed against weaker races, their chances of winning would be high because of their abilities. But if placed against other races that were comparable to them in rank, for example, the Paragons and Supremes.
They could die in the blink of an eye because of the physical prowess of these races.
One should not forget that a hundred humans with no mana or any sort of energy could not even defeat a single adult gorilla without the usage of weapons or trickery.
That was how weak the human body was.
"Because of our physical weakness, we usually had to stay at the back line of any army while being protected by those with more powerful physiques."
"Some of us had to devise ways to protect ourselves. For example, some of us had a lot of defensive and offensive artifacts. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot of artifacts."
"Some decided to hire races with powerful physiques as their bodyguards while some got contracted pets with powerful physiques... However, I was displeased and frustrated with the physical limitation of our race... so I researched... I researched a way for me to increase the physical limitation of our race."
"I delved into what they call Martial Arts and several other physical combat related techniques... And at the end of the day... I succeeded."
Prince Zakar'el looked at Corey, and Corey did not know why, but he felt like the last prince of the Letherions was smiling.
"Although I said I succeeded, it was not really a success and at the same time, it was a success."
"I could not increase the physical limitation of my race, but I created several techniques that greatly helped my race."
"For example... Full Counter..."
BADUM!
"What?"
"And my greatest creation which is why I said I succeeded in increasing the physical limitation of my people."
"I created the technique... Obscura Force."
BADUM!
"What?"
"I created-"
BOOM!
WHOOSH!
"Are you messing with me?"
Just as Prince Zakar'el was about to talk, Corey unleashed his aura and spoke with an extremely cold tone.
Prince Zakar'el paused and said nothing for a few seconds before chuckling.
"No, I'm not... Those two skills of yours were created by me... I was also surprised when I also sensed my two creations in you."
"Though I'm very relieved that these two skills did not fall into the hands of those bastards, or who knows what they would have done with these two skills."
As Corey heard the words of Prince Zakar'el, his mind was raging with countless questions.
He recalled where he got the two skills from, and he was more baffled.
He obtained Full Counter from a Tier 1 monster with a goat skull as its head, and he obtained Obscura Force from the vault of the Underworld Emporium.
There were no signs of the Letherions, and Corey looked at the Prince with a suspicious gaze.
"I got one of the skills from a Tier 1 monster while I got the other one from a robbery. How could the two skills a powerful being like you fall in the hands of a Tier 1 monster and the vault of beings who are much weaker than you."
Prince Zakar'el shook his head, "Whenever anybody from my race died, their memories and knowledge of the techniques I created would leave them and come to me."
"And if they didn't die, they could willingly transfer their memories of my techniques to me, no matter the distance."
"During the downfall of my race, I made sure to remove every knowledge of the techniques I created from the minds of my people, and then I used an item to transfer these memories to random places that our enemies would never search to obtain the techniques."
"I'm guessing the Tier 1 monster that had my technique was a result of the item, and for the other one you stole. It's most definitely Obscura Force because I made sure to seal Obscura Force and not just anybody could unseal Obscura Force."
Corey tilted his head with a curious expression.
"So, who could unseal your technique?"
"If I tell you that I know, then I'm lying because I used a page from this book over here to seal my technique."
Coret glanced at the book on the throne, and he furrowed his brows. He could sense nothing unique about the book.
'Could he have actually used a page from that book to seal his technique? I don't sense any aura or anything at all from the book... Is he lying?'
'But what if he's not?'
'I got Obscura Force from a scroll, and the moment I used my Eyes of Omniscience to read the scroll, a white flame entered my glabella... He might not be lying.'
'Wait... Didn't I obtain a key that had a similar aura to the scroll and... Rhea?'
Corey's eyes widened slightly, and his gaze landed on Rhea who had strangely fallen asleep from the moment Prince Zakar'el appeared.
For some reason, Corey had completely forgotten about Rhea.
'Rhea?'
"It seems you've finally noticed."
Corey's head snapped at the Prince with a soul chilling gaze.
"What did you do?"
"It's a normal reaction she was always going to have when the Guardian and Keeper of the souls and spirits of my people encounters a Royal while in her current state."
Corey was stunned.
"What?"
