Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 815 - 812: In The Palace
Chapter 815: 812: In The Palace
Corey did not know what to think when he heard Pamela telling him Lydia’s last words about him.
He had no idea that Lydia had feelings for him since what he knew about her was very little.
They had never spoken or talked about anything intimate before, and the only thing he told her about himself was his name.
His real name, not a fake name.
So it was extremely strange to Corey that Lydia had developed such strong feelings for him.
In fact, he never showed her any sort of care and compassion, and the only sort of care and compassion he ever showed her was him saving her... thrice like she said.
The first was him saving from the terrible aphrodisiac that was constantly in her bloodstream, making her unable to live without sex.
The second was when Selene, Kiefer, and Divine saved her from the men of the Embodiment of Lust.
And the third was him saving her from the attack of a demon during his escape from the Underworld.
’I rescued her from that demon since she was the first person I had sex with and it would be terrible if she died when I could do something about it.’
’And fortunately for her, I saved her since The Clown detonated the entire Underworld, or the she would be a corpse by now.’
’Hmm... I don’t think I can ever understand the minds of women.’
Corey almost shook his head, but he stopped himself after realizing that if he did such a thing, Pamela would kill him since it would look like he was shaking his head at Lydia’s words.
Corey exhaled softly, "Thanks for relaying her message to me."
However, Pamela scoffed and rolled her eyes, "Do I look like a messenger in your eyes?"
Corey just smiled in response, and Pamela scoffed again.
"Anyway, you’ll be able to meet Selene, Kiefer, and Willow when they come back from their dungeon mission."
Corey raised a brow, "The dungeon is in Serithal?"
Pamela looked at Corey with a questioning and suspicious gaze, but then a light of realization lit up in her eyes.
"Selene. You can still sense Selene’s presence even when she’s in a dungeon?"
Corey nodded, "I’ve actually been looking for her and you guys ever since I entered Serithal, but I didn’t see any of you, so it was strange to him."
"I could sense Selene, but it was in the direction of the palace, and since none of you came outside to meet me, I assumed there was a problem."
"That’s why I didn’t try to look for her in the first place."
’Besides, my Eyes of Omniscience can’t easily see through the walls of the palace and even the temple unless I increase the output of my Eyes of Omniscience.’
’However, my instincts keep on warning me about that, and I’ll surely listen to my instincts.’
’But I’m definitely not going to mention any of these.’
As Corey had all these thoughts, Pamela furrowed her brows slightly, and although she wanted to say something, she decided not to.
"Well, there’s no problem per say. Just a little training, I guess."
"Hmm." Corey hummed, and a thought came to his mind, so he asked.
"By the way, is the Temple of Miracles strange to you?"
Pamela raised a brow while tilting her head slightly, "Strange how?"
Corey frowned slightly, "Do you sense a... massive presence in the temple at times? Like something that feels, I don’t know... divine?"
Pamela narrowed her eyes, and then she turned to her right and looked in the distance.
Her eyes released a bright silver glow, and her gaze pierced through every obstacle between her and the Miracle Temple in the far off distance.
She narrowed her eyes further, trying to take note of any massive presence Corey talked about, but she sensed nothing.
Her frown deepened, and then she looked at Corey.
"Are you sure about what you sensed? I don’t sense anything."
Corey’s frown deepened, and he also looked in the direction of the Temple of Miracles.
He had no need to use his Eyes of Omniscience since he could perceive the divine presence from even where he was sitting.
’I know that I’m not wrong about what I’m sensing since my senses are not being deceived, but why can’t Pamela sense it?’
’Does that mean that Pamela’s perception abilities are not as powerful as mine?’
Corey paused his train of thoughts, and his mind went to his Cosmic Soul
’Hmm... Is it because of my Cosmic Soul I’m able to sense this divine presence?... I don’t know much about my Cosmic Soul but could this be another ability of it?’
’Or could it be because I’m a Demi-Paragon?’
’But all of these don’t matter though.’
’What matters is that I’m certain that there’s a being or an object that’s able to radiate a presence that’s so much greater and grander than that of even the Throne of the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones.’
’If I don’t have any business with the Temple of Miracles, I’ll avoid it.’
’But if I’m going to be at odds with them in the future, I need to be careful.’
’I don’t want to have to fight a god at my current power level.’
Corey released a soft sigh, and then he looked at Pamela who was looking at him with a baffled expression.
He spoke, "I don’t know why you can’t sense it, but I can sense a powerful presence from the Temple of Miracles."
"I encountered the Throne of the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones, and this presence is far greater than the Throne."
Pamela’s gaze became solemn, "I also encountered the Throne when I was in the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones, and he’s extremely powerful. I would have died if I fought him back then."
"Didn’t they say that he’s comparable to a Tier 7? The presence in the Temple is greater than that of the Throne?"
Corey nodded, and then he looked in the direction of the palace.
"In fact, I can also sense the presence in the palace. But it’s fainter than that of the temple though."
