Chapter 820: 817: Supplies

The fourth room after the training arena was quiet.

A narrow corridor led Corey to a reinforced metal door etched with the sigil of the Miracle Hunters Association- a spear stabbing through a spiral cycle- the same one engraved into his silver badge.

The door slid open with a faint hiss the moment he stepped close.

Inside, the supply room was spacious and dimly lit with shelves and racks arranged neatly in rows. It smelled faintly of steel, leather, and old incense.

On the left were standard rations and mana boosters- devices that were artificially created to regenerate one’s mana by a little amount using a mana crystal.

On the right were weapon racks, relic compartments, and small boxes marked with different codes.

A holographic screen blinked to life above a pedestal in the center of the room.

His badge on his waist released a silver glow, and a mechanical voice resounded in the room.

----

[Silver Access: Confirmed.]

[Mission Recognized: Voices of the Quiet Soul.]

[Recommended Loadout- Initiating Display.]

----

The center of the room lit up with several glowing projections, displaying a list of categorized supplies.

----

[Necrotic Resistance Charms (3)]

[Holy-imbued Dagger]

[Spirit-Flare Beacon (Single Use)]

[Mana- restoring Blackroot Pills (5)]

[Shadowbinding Rope]

[Purification Grenade (1)]

[Emergency Healing Salve]

[Corpse Storage Token (For corpses only)]

----

Corey’s eyes scanned through the list, their holographic images, and the items themselves.

Although he felt like he had no need for most of the items because of his abilities and uniqueness, he still decided to take them just to fulfill all righteousness.

However, there were a few that he was curious about.

For example, the Holy Dagger, Purification Grenade, and the Shadowbinding Rope.

He collected the resistance charms, the purification grenades, healing salve, the corpse storage token, and then he pocketed the spirit beacon.

His fingers hovered for a second over the Black root Pills.

If he was being honest, he felt a deep disgust emerging in his entire being as he stared at the Blackroot Pills.

Although some might think that the Blackroot Pills were a result of alchemy because of the word-Pill- in it. But the Blackroot Pills were anything but an alchemical product.

Corey did not even need to use his Eyes of Omniscience to analyze the pill.

It was basically a mish-mashed black substance that resembled a small meat ball.

Even the texture was as rough as that of meatballs, and Corey could even see root hairs extending from the black pills.

’Absolutely revolting. I can feel the Paragon blood in me wanting to crush and utterly destroy this so called pill.’

’What a waste of herbs. It could have been used to create an actual pill.’

Corey shook his head inwardly, and then he took the five Blackroot Pills despite his disgust.

The remaining items were the purification grenades, holy dagger, and shadowbinding rope.

He was mainly curious about the purification grenades and holy dagger because they dealt with knowledge he had not placed any significance on.

Back in the Underworld, he had recorded every book that was in the libraries of the Outer Area, Inner Area, and even the Central Area.

Recording the books in the Library of the Central Area was not an easy feat because he had to use the skill, Toxic Familiar, to record all the books in the Library.

He did this after defeating Melissa and her companions, and fortunately for him, his insects were able to go through every book that was in the Central Library during the chaos that occurred during their escape.

His Stars of Consciousness rapidly scoured through the recorded books, and as Corey observed the Holy Dagger which clearly had the familiar divine energy of the God of Miracles and Cycles.

As for the purification grenades and shadowbinding ropes, they were different from the Holy Dagger because they didn’t have divine energy in them, but at the end of the day, they all performed the same function.

They were Anti-Dead items.

Corey observed each of the items a few more times, and then he grabbed the dagger.

He tested it’s weight, and although it was not perfect for him, it was okay.

The blade shimmered with a faint golden glow and pulsed once as if sensing him. He looked at it for a second before slipping it into the small sheath on the inside of his cloak.

He scanned the rest before storing them.

Before leaving, he paused at a low, narrow drawer labeled: Tier 3- Experimental Tools.

Inside was a thin, transparent veil of black cloth embedded with faint runes.

He looked at the description.

----

[Grave-Cloak Veil: Temporary aura suppression and thermal concealment.

Duration: 15 minutes. Cool down: 2 hours.]

----

Corey looked at it with a pondering expression for a few seconds, and then he took it and stored it inside his Tri-Pupil Eyes.

----

By the time he reached the briefing hall, the others were already gathered.

The briefing hall was dim and silent, lit by the soft pulse of runes embedded into the walls and floor.

Corey entered quietly.

Kieran, the Captain, stood at the center, in front of a circular table that displayed a hovering 3D projection of the Whispergrove Cemetery.

Corey glanced at it.

It was a forested region with spiraling paths, burial stones, mausoleums, and a ringed central plaza that pulsed with red markers.

The others were already gathered around. They were silent, focused, and their weapons were strapped and armors adjusted.

Corey didn’t speak.

He walked to a free spot near the back and leaned slightly against the wall, and his silver badge glinted faintly.

Kieran tapped the display once, and the projection shifted.

A low hum filled the room as the light expanded outward, revealing a twisted landscape that pulsed faintly like a dying heart.

Dark trees, brittle as bone, curled inward around a sprawling cemetery. The ground was cracked. Faint red mist hovered above the soul, and dozens of small, glowing markers flickered throughout the map.

Some blinked... then vanished.

Kieran spoke.
