Sinner System-Chapter 462: The Sentinels (Part 8)
Point-of-View: Jaden Xeno
———————————————————————————
I stemmed the bleeding in my side with telekinesis as Sky shot high up into the air with a powerful flap of her wings, an intense gust of wind erupting as she rapidly ascended.
A bright, fiery glow blanketed us as she formed a massive, swirling sphere of flames, before launching it down towards us with immense speed.
I swiftly zipped up into the air, concentrating and pressurizing telekinetic energy around me. I unleashed it in a devastating shockwave as I closed in on the massive fireball, a stifled burst of heat erupting as the flames fanned out and dispersed. My eyes then widened as Sky swooped straight down towards me, closing in on me in the blink of an eye.
I concentrated all the telekinetic energy around me over my head as she swung her left arm down. He strike broke through my defense and sliced down my forehead, one of her talons tearing across my right eye and another ripping through the bridge of my nose.
I then gasped in pain as she slammed her foot onto the middle of my stomach, sending me hurtling back down towards the ground.
I braced myself before letting out a sharp wheeze as my back slammed onto the ground with a jarring impact, my vision blurring sharply before I tensed as she zipped down towards me.
She swiftly veered across as a barrage of sound blasts came shooting towards her, before I gritted my teeth as I shakily sat up, my head spinning slightly.
I...I need to move faster. Attack faster. React faster. Do everything faster.
I got back onto my feet with a slight grunt, stumbling slightly before turning my gaze across, right as Iseul sprang up behind Sky, driving her broken blade towards the back of the Monster’s neck.
Sky swiftly spun around and grabbed Iseul by the neck, a choked gasp ringing out, before Iseul drove her blade towards the middle of Sky’s forearm as Beatriz and I raced forward.
Sky quickly fired an intense burst of flames from her other hand, hitting the middle of Iseul’s stomach and blasting her away. She then zipped up into the air as Beatriz unleashed a deafening sonic screech towards her, evading it before firing out a devastating blast of lightning towards Beatriz.
Beatriz quickly raised her blade up defensively, the blast colliding against it before sending her hurtling back through the air upon impact, shattering the left side of her blade.
As she skidded several meters across the ground and crashed onto a pile of rubble, I unleashed a telekinetic shockwave as an intense, pressurized gust of wind came shooting towards me. I just barely managed to cancel it out, before I launched myself back with a burst of telekinesis, getting some distance away.
I took a deep breath and let out a slow exhale, relaxing my body. It’s hard to get an accurate read on my depth perception with one eye, so I’ll generate a sensitive telekinetic force field around myself, that should help me gauge distance.
Now, then...focus. Concentrate...there’s no time to think, she’s too fast for that. I need to clear my mind and use my instincts to react and respond accordingly...
"Time to die, human," She remarked, as she shot forward and zipped across to my left, driving her talons towards the side of my head.
I see it...
I tilted my head back, one of her talons grazing the bridge of my nose, her eyes widening slightly, before I jerked my head forward and snapped my teeth around the middle of her forearm, generating telekinetic energy around my jaws to force them shut, tearing off a chunk of flesh.
I unleashed a powerful telekinetic shockwave as she quickly crossed her arms in front of herself, pushing her back as her feet skidded several meters across the ground.
I spat out the flesh I’d bitten off, before raising my left arm and firing out a piercing telekinetic beam. She shot up into the air with a powerful burst of wind, evading the beam and zipping up into the air.
Faster...I could have launched that attack faster, I need to be faster...
I blasted myself up straight towards her, lifting my gaze before firing out a piercing burst of telekinesis from my mouth, grazing her right wing as she veered across to the left.
I shot across to the right as she unleashed a slashing wave of wind towards me, before zipping up towards her, meeting her gaze before shifting my attention to her neck.
She stiffened as I suddenly grabbed her left leg and unleashed a slicing burst of telekinesis from my hand as I clamped it around her calf, slicing it off before swinging it across, spraying blood towards her head, while simultaneously whipping my left arm up.
She unleashed a burst of wind around herself, blowing my away right as I fired out a telekinetic slash, a shallow, diagonal cut appearing across her chest as her burst of wind slowed my attack down.
I triggered a telekinetic burst behind my back to bring myself to a halt, before I launched myself straight towards her again.
She lunged forward and drew back her talons as I began to close in, before I blasted myself up as she thrust her talons towards me. She pierced through the middle of my right knee before I swung my arms down, releasing a swirling mass of concentrated telekinetic energy charged up between my hands.
Her talons got wrenched out of my knee as I blasted her down towards the ground, a deafening crash ringing out as she slammed onto the dirt with immense force. A cloud of dust began rising up around her before I unleashed a barrage of pressurized telekinetic blasts down towards her.
A rapid blur zipped out the left of the dust cloud, several crashes ringing out. My gaze darted across as she shot up into the air with immense speed and closed in on my left, intense wind swirling around her right arm and talons.
I coated my left arm in telekinesis and swung it up as she drove her talons forward, a deafening blast ringing out. We both got sent hurtling back through the air in opposite directions from the force of the blast, her right arm mangled and a couple of deep stab wounds through the middle of my left arm.
She sharply spread out her wings as I simultaneously unleashed a telekinetic burst behind myself, the two of us coming to a halt.
"You’re actually keeping up with me head-on, how unexpected. You have effectively matched me, blow for blow, I’d even say that you have a slight edge. But it won’t last. My injuries heal in a matter of seconds, while yours do not.
Furthermore, I possess far greater Mana and stamina capacities. It will not be long before you succumb to injury and fatigue," She remarked, swinging her arm out as it healed up.
"Yeah, maybe. In which case, I’ll just have to deal a fatal blow before that happens," I responded, as I wrapped telekinetic energy around my injuries to splint them and stem the bleeding.
