"Thirty meters," Called out Cleo, as we steadily made our way forward.

"Got it. Get ready, guys. We already know how powerful the Sentinels are, so don’t let your guards down," I remarked, a sense of tension blanketing us as we drew closer and closer.

Hm? What’s that? Are those...pillars?

There was a wide ring of pillars up ahead, and a lone figure seated in the middle, an air of boredom about them.

The figure perked up and hopped onto its feet as it spotted us, a gleam in its eyes as we came to a halt a few meters ahead of the ring of pillars.

That Aura, no doubt about it, this is one of the Sentinels. Its Aura looks even more intense than Titan’s was. Let’s take a look, Appraisal:

Hm, his Power Level isn’t as high as Titan’s was, but his Aura definitely has a bit more intensity to it.

He was a humanoid bat-like Monster, covered in dark gray fur, with bright, gleaming yellow eyes. He had a slender, agile figure, his wings were on his back, like a Demon’s, and he had long, slender arms.

I think I see small holes in the middle of his palms, he had sharp, black claws and curved, narrow fangs, and he was slightly hunched.

He had a black face mask hanging around his neck, with what looked like a speaker at the front of it...the sensation I’m picking up off that object, I think it’s a Personalis Arma.

"Finally! I feel as though I’ve been waiting for an eternity. So, you must be humans, this is the first time I’ve seen your kind. I am known as Sonic, the Bat King, one of the Demon Lord’s Sentinels, and I-...," He introduced himself with a smirk, before he was cut off as Ciel unleashed a barrage of explosive projectiles towards him, aiming for a gap between two of the pillars.

"What?!" She blurted out, as her projectiles collided against an invisible force field between the pillars, exploding intensely upon impact.

Cracks spread out across the ground surrounding the ring of pillars around that spot, but the two pillars on either side of the explosions were completely intact, not so much as a single scratch on them.

"My, how impatient. There’s no need to rush, one of you will get to fight me shortly," Chuckled Sonic, a malicious gleam in his eyes.

Suddenly, the ring of pillars sharply expanded, the area within the ring spanning a radius of about fifty meters, before I abruptly found myself standing in front of one of the pillars.

Did I just get teleported?

I glanced around in alarm, to see the others, each of the X-Aces and Petrus in front of one of the pillars, while the remaining four Aces were paired up, Brid and Jax in front of one pillar, and Rex and Ciel in front of another. I need to-...huh?

I...I can’t move my feet, it’s as if they’re stuck to the ground! What the hell is this?!

The Apostles, who were still by the spot where we’d been grouped up before getting teleported around the ring of pillars, tried to rush in and intervene, but they couldn’t get close, colliding against an invisible force field, keeping them at bay.

The pillar in front of me then suddenly began glowing, before the glow faded and moved to the pillar to the left, where Jaden was standing.

The glow moved on to the next pillar, in front of Aria, before jumping across each subsequent pillar with increasing speed...is this a roulette? For what?

The glow then came to a halt on the pillar in front of Cleo, before she suddenly got teleported into the space within the ring of pillars.

Suddenly, I found myself able to move again, before drawing out my blade and lunging towards a gap between the pillars, only to collide against an invisible force field.

Damn it, no...!

I struck the force field with my blade a couple of times, before extending out Drain and trying to bite through it, but to no avail.

"It’s pointless, these pillars, and the barrier cast around them, cannot be breached. I shall explain how this Final Dungeon works.

To progress through the floors, you must eliminate us Sentinels, but you may only fight us one at a time.

Our opponents are picked at random. But fear not, if one of you dies, another shall be selected to take their place, until all of you are dead.

To sum it up...if this human kills me, your group shall proceed to the next floor. But if I kill this human, another of you will be teleported into this space, and that will repeat unless and until I am defeated.

But that will not happen, I can assure you of that. You will keep fighting me one by one, until all of you are slain by my hand. There is no other outcome," He smirked, as Cleo eyed him warily.

"Damn it!" Exclaimed Aria, slamming her fist against the barrier with a frustrated grimace.

"Well, shit...this isn’t how it was supposed to go," Muttered Jaden, as Sonic cracked his neck and narrowed his eyes at Cleo menacingly, who took an instinctive step back, a bead of sweat trickling down the side of her face.

"Ah, you have a Personalis Arma as well, I see. This is mine, Sonic Amplifier. Allow me to show you how it works," He remarked ominously, as he put the mask over the lower half of his face, before firing out a rapid, concentrated sonic blast towards her.

"<Hypersonic Screech>!" She exclaimed, as she sprang back and unleashed a deafening sonic screech, but his concentrated sonic blast drowned out her screech with ease.

A sharp gasp rang out as the blast hit her head, blood pouring out of her ears as she collapsed onto her knees, a sadistic chuckle ringing out as Sonic spread out his wings and shot towards her with immense speed.

No! What can I do-...?!

"<Command: Don’t Move>!"

His eyes widened in surprised as he came an abrupt halt, before gritting his teeth as he began to strain against the effect. Suddenly, he tensed as Cleo sprang back onto her feet, a murderous look in her eyes. Intense streaks of lightning sparked and crackled around her, as she chanted...

"<Dragon Lightning>!"
