Sleeping With The CEO-Chapter 365: The Return
Chapter 365: The Return
During a night that now felt as though it had happened lifetimes ago. Emily had dressed in a red dress and walked beside Derek, the two of them, facing down a young woman who had become a nuisance and coming out on top. Back then, it had seemed like a challenge.
But the Emily from that time had not yet known just how dangerous the world could be. Now she sat side by side with Derek at the back of a limo.
They were once again dressed to kill( hopefully not in the literal sense), with Emily in a bone white dress, and Derek himself in a dark shirt, dark trousers, and a crisp white coat. The two of them having taken time to make sure that their outfits were well coordinated, not because they were at the party to enjoy themselves. But because they recognised the need to look powerful, when wanting to feel powerful.
Even if that had been their intent, powerful was the last thing that Emily felt at that moment. Instead she was nervous, terrified, feeling a bit queasy, and also like she was so angry she could scream and whole buildings would collapse. All sorts of things that normally would have had her backing out, and heading back home to hide under the covers.
Embroidering until her fingers hurt in an effort to get her emotions under control. But this was not a situation that either of them could run from. The time had finally come for them to face Sebastian Haven, which was why they were currently parked outside Haven Group headquarters.
Everybody who was everybody in Sebastian Haven’s list of people he wanted to be associated with, had been invited to the party. Though the invite to Derek’s mother had mostly been out of spite. Sebastian taking great joy from what he assumed was her grief. Cassandra Haven was there too, and she had taken Emily’s mother as her plus one.
The two women using the opportunity to be in the thick of things, giving information not only to Derek and Emily. But also to the various police officers who were currently waiting for the signal to go in. Knowing that their mothers were so close to the danger, was not helping Emily calm down at all.
"I am scared," She finally voiced, the kiss that Derek placed on her knuckles in response to her statement not helping matters at all. She was terrified, and she knew he was uneasy too, he had barely said a word since they had begun their wait. . All she wanted to do that evening was to be back at the manor, not researching anything Sebastian related. But trying to pick out schools for the master’s degree that she now wanted to pursue.
Simple everyday life things. Maybe she and Derek would have been cuddled up.
Just enjoying each other’s company and talking about the future. But in order to be able to enjoy all of that, they first had to get through this hurdle. Emily just wished that it did not have to be such a big one. When the police had gotten the invite list of everyone who would be attending the party from Cassandra. They had actually increased the manpower that would be needed to break up the party because as it turned out. Sebastian had invited some very bad people.
Some he had already built connections with, and others he was hoping to build professional relationships with.
Very few people who were currently in the building celebrating with Sebastian did not have blood on their hands. And not just blood in the sense of killing one or two people. There were literal warlords in there. And there were people who supplied the warlords with their weapons. They were even owners of pharmaceutical companies who did not care whether their drugs cured, killed or created addicts. They were just in it for the money. Needless to say a lot of arrests would be made that night. Emily was glad for that, even if she knew that most of the people arrested would be out within hours.
What mattered to her was that Sebastian Haven was going down. And by arresting all those who were currently willing to be seen with him. They would be cutting off all avenues of escape from him. No one would be willing to help him out.
Especially if being in his presence brought them too much attention. The people in there had managed to get as far as they were in life by keeping a low profile. Something that Sebastian did not like doing at all.
By bringing the police, the Havens would be amplifying the limelight on Sebastian Haven, something that would be certain to send all of his criminal friends scurrying. No one would be coming back for him.
And once Cassandra’s plan to send him to the worst prison in the country became a reality. No one would even be thinking of him anymore. He would become something only mentioned in passing.
If their country had still had the death penalty, Emily would have advocated for it. She knew a lot of people who were against such a form of punishment, but for her, Sebastian was beyond rehabilitation. There was nothing in him that could be termed as human enough to deserve mercy, and forgiveness but since the death penalty did not exist
She wished Sebastian Haven pain and nothing else for as long as he lived. Stuck in a cell that was smaller than the bath tubs that he was currently used to.
Sebastian Haven was in his sixties now, but sitting at the back of the car with Derek, waiting to ruin his party. Emily found herself wishing him a long, unhealthy life. She hoped with everything in her that he lived to be well over a hundred, never seeing the sun outside prison bars. Every waking moment that he had, spent regretting the day that he had decided that Emily and Derek’s fathers did not deserve to live.
Sebastian needed that sort of punishment. It was the only way that Emily could think of that would make her feel as though even a small bit of justice was being served. It would not bring her father back, and it would definitely not bring Derek’s father back to life either. But it would ease the hurt a bit knowing that the person who had done it was finally paying for it in some way.
Next to her Derek’s phone lit up and he picked it up reading the brief message there before sliding it into his pocket and turning to her. freewёbnoνel.com
"That was my mother. My uncle has just finished giving his big speech. It is now or never," Derek said, his eyes shining with determination.
Leaning towards one another, their lips brushed briefly, and then Derek was out of the car and on her side, helping her out. The two of them walking hand in hand into the building.
"Stop! You do not have an invite," The guard who stepped in front of them was someone Emily knew. His eyes lighting up in recognition, his face going pale.
"CEO Haven? Miss Molson?" Emily smiled at him sweetly, the expression the exact opposite of the shark like grin that Derek was giving the poor man.
"Lead us to the party, and you might just get to keep your job," The guards hurried to obey, the fear in their eyes easy to see. Especiially when the police detached from the shadows, and followed behind them.
