Chapter 63: 63 - Spider-Slime

"Is it really okay for me to go with you to meet your elf friend?" Lisa asked, a little uncertain, this time walking alongside Lohan instead of serving as his mount.

They weren’t far from Lohan’s usual meeting place, so there was no need for Lisa to carry Lohan around.

And even though he enjoyed riding on the fox’s back, Lohan didn’t dislike the feeling of rolling around either.

At one point, he even felt that this sensation was more comfortable than walking on two legs!

But putting that thought aside, Lohan replied. "Don’t worry, Aeliana has always been a very good girl, and I believe her presence will be more beneficial than harmful to our relationship, since with you I will finally be able to talk to her for real."

Lisa nodded, agreeing with his point of view.

Although she greatly valued the time she had to grind and kill monsters, as the heiress of a giant financial group, she knew how valuable human relationships were in business.

In order to create a guild that would eventually depend on these relationships for trade, making a good first impression was essential, and she already had that, having saved the four elves the day before.

So she relaxed and asked a question. "About those webs of yours, how useful are they?"

Considering that all skills could be useful in some way, she figured the webs weren’t bad, and considering that they came from a Level 11 monster, she became even more curious.

"I feel like they’re more powerful than Spider-Man’s webs and useful for draining energy from enemies like Shang Tsung, so I think that’s my most powerful skill, even if it doesn’t work to eliminate an enemy instantly," he said excitedly.

When his fear of that skill passed, Lohan tested it thoroughly to see how it worked, and everything he noticed made he very satisfied.

"Who? Spider-Man? Shang Tsung?" She asked, confused, tilting her head because she didn’t recognize those names, which, as Halon said, seemed to be common knowledge.

Seeing her confusion, Lohan realized his mistake.

’I’m in an alternate world, it’s obvious that Marvel or Mortal Kombat characters didn’t exist here...’

Realizing this, he tried to find other similar characters for her to relate to in a way she could understand, but he realized that even in the memories of the old Lohan, there were no characters that interesting.

This world had deteriorated so much into rampant exploitation that people like him never had the opportunity to come home from school and watch some fun cartoons for children.

Most of his childhood was spent working or stealing to help buy food at home.

Thinking of a quick explanation, Lohan replied, "They are popular characters from stories that parents told children where I grew up."

Hearing this made the fox’s eyes sparkle with curiosity, turning to face Lohan intently. "What do you mean? Did your parents make up these characters?"

Lohan looked at her strangely. ’Didn’t this girl’s parents tell her stories when she was a child? Isn’t that basic?’

But they had already arrived at the place they had arranged to meet Aeliana, and Lohan had spotted the elf, so he put it off. "I can tell you those stories another time if you want."

"Okay." The fox accepted this with satisfaction.

Shortly after Lohan spotted the elf, Aeliana, who had been standing to the side, suddenly turned to Lohan and was surprised.

"Little friend, you’re back! Your Mana seems denser, did you level up?!" She asked excitedly, approaching the shiny Blue Slime with a diameter of 34 centimeters, but as she got closer, she noticed a small, slender creature next to the slime. "Did you bring a friend?!"

Instead of being worried or disappointed, Aeliana found this situation even cooler.

She learned that apparently this little friend of hers had helped a group of elves in the forest and was shocked to discover that they had even talked to him, excited that maybe she could too!

But when she found out that they only talked because of an ability that a Spirit Fox had used, she was disappointed, saddened by the thought that she wouldn’t be able to do it.

Who would have thought that her little friend would bring the Spirit Fox to see her too?! That way she could finally talk to her little blue friend.

"Hello, Aeliana, yes, this is my friend Lisa, and since I can finally introduce myself, my name is Halon." A calm and pleasant male voice sounded in her mind, causing Aeliana to freeze in alertness for a second, only to realize in the next second that this voice belonged to the little Slime in front of her!

"You can really talk!! Wow, I’m so excited! Why didn’t you ever tell me you were a boy?! All this time I thought you were a girl slime!" She said amused, not caring about the difference between imagination and reality, and crouching down, picking Halon up in her lap.

Suddenly, a slightly playful female voice sounded in her mind. "I don’t think you were that wrong, as far as I know, slimes are hermaphroditic beings, with no distinction between female and male."

Upon hearing this, Aeliana’s eyes sparkled even more, alternating her gaze between the little white fox and the slightly large Slime in her arms.

"I’M A MAN!" Lohan said indignantly, slightly irritated by Lisa’s playful expression.

He knew she didn’t believe what she was saying, since she knew he wasn’t really a Slime, but Aeliana didn’t, so now she would really believe that he was both a girl and a boy...

"Whatever, it’s not like it really changes anything for me." Lohan let it go.

After hugging Halon’s gelatinous, icy body, Aeliana turned to the little fox and asked. "Hello little friend, I’m Aeliana, are you the Spirit Fox who helped my little slime friend deal with the humans who wanted to capture the elven group yesterday?"

Lisa nodded in agreement, explaining the situation to Aeliana as it had happened. During the explanation, Lohan also added some details from his point of view, and Aeliana loved the experience.

"I’m so jealous!!! Even though I’m already a Level 20 Mage, my master said she would only let me go out to explore the world when I reached level 21...

I’ve been stuck at level 20 for 20 years because they don’t capture any monsters strong enough for me to kill and level up..." Aeliana said frustrated, unaware of the shock the slime and the fox felt upon hearing this information.
