Slime Evolution-Chapter 89 - Spider-Slime Strikes Again!
Arriving at Horizon Bazaar, Lohan was happy to see that the store selling Mana Stones was still open!
Or rather, calling it a store would be an exaggeration; it was just a wooden stall where a beast-like man had put the Mana Stones up for sale.
Don’t underestimate this small stall, after all, the value of the goods it had on display in the morning was almost a gold coin, which represented a reasonable fortune even in Thalendor, where prices were relatively expensive.
As he approached the store, Lohan realized there was a problem. Without Aeliana to pick him up, he couldn’t see what was on the counter...
There weren’t many people looking at the Mana Stones on display, but they were still people he would disturb, or even scare, if he just jumped on the wooden counter.
Looking around, he finally realized a way to make it work.
"Lisa, I’m going to climb up, don’t be scared," Lohan said in a playful voice.
The fox heard that and was confused, tilting her head, not knowing what Halon meant by that, but she didn’t refuse, curious about what he would do next.
This small wooden stall was not mobile, but something fixed in the Horizon Bazaar that shopkeepers could rent to sell whatever they wanted.
Because of this, the roof structure of this store was also fixed, and made in a seemingly very sturdy manner, so Lohan spent a little biomass and wove a Magic Web, attaching it to the roof of the store and pulling himself up like Spider-Man!
In order not to leave Lisa on the ground, he used [Selective Viscosity] to attach himself to her, pulling the fox up as well.
Suddenly, in front of the elves and other races visiting that stall, a strange scene of a relatively large blue Slime attached to a white Fox, hanging from the roof by a blue thread, appeared, with them slowly climbing up as if in an elevator!
Both the customers and the stall owner were left speechless when they saw that scene happening in front of them, not knowing how to react.
Suddenly, a polite and pleasant male voice appeared in the vendor’s mind.
"Hello, I apologize for the unusual way of introducing myself, but as you can see, my body is too small to see your counter. Would you mind if my companion and I stood on your counter instead of hanging here?"
As that voice spoke, a small hand resembling a human hand appeared next to the hanging Slime and waved, making a standard Thalendor elven greeting.
But instead of reassuring the stall owner or the customers around him, this scene only made it all the more unbelievable, leaving the man standing there with his mouth open, not knowing what to say.
Lisa, held by Halon in that way, felt a little embarrassed.
Normally, she was the one carrying the slime, which was already difficult for her to get used to, but now being carried by him in such a... unique way made a pink blush appear on the fox’s cheeks.
But seeing the way people looked at them, surprisingly, she didn’t feel that it was so bad.
No one there knew she was Isabella Vance, she didn’t have to keep the Vance honor and dignity intact as an obligation at all times there.
Being able to act in such a unique way was something new for her, so she just stayed quiet, maintaining the mental link between them and the store owner for Lohan to communicate.
Seeing the shop owner with his mouth open, even she couldn’t resist and smiled slightly on her fox-like face, finding the situation hilarious. If it weren’t for the years of training and indoctrination by the Vances, she might have burst out laughing right there.
The shop owner finally processed what he was seeing and responded with a question. "Erhm... are you hired monsters? Where is your master?"
Lohan wasn’t offended by that, considering how unique they were in that place, it was a question he had already expected.
So he replied politely, completely contrary to his silly Slime image. "We are not hired monsters, sir. We are customers who wish to look at your Mana Stones and buy one or two if possible."
Hearing that was even more surprising to the man, so he finally came back to reality. "A sentient Slime?! That’s incredible!
Wait a moment, I’ll make some space for you at the counter."
Saying that, the man quickly moved some Mana Stones to one corner, wiped the counter that was a little dusty from the day’s dirt, and even laid down a small leather rug for the Slime and the Fox to sit on.
Although it was just a wooden stall, being one of the shops in Thalendor’s Horizon Bazaar, everything there was large and luxurious, so even this man’s small shop had enough space for several people to look at the display at the same time without feeling cramped.
With the space defined, Lohan controlled the Mana through his Magic Web to detach himself from the roof and absorbed it again, recovering part of the Biomass spent in creating it, while swinging forward and landing perfectly on the rug that the man had placed on the counter for them in a single swing.
Lisa was quick to regain her balance, landing gracefully while balancing Lohan on her back, who soon rolled to the side to stand independently on the counter.
Seeing that scene, the people around them who were watching with curiosity were even more amazed.
"Thank you very much for your hospitality, my name is Halon, this is my companion, Lisa." Lohan said as he politely extended his small hand forward.
The shop owner still couldn’t believe what he was seeing, but he still reached out his hand, shaking the Slime’s gelatinous hand and introducing himself as well. "Hello Halon, Lisa, I’m Edgar, this is my Mana Stone shop."
Lohan was very pleased with Edgar’s polite treatment, probably the best treatment he had received from anyone since he transmigrated.
Looking at the Mana Stones below him, his eyes lit up when he saw one that caught his attention.
