Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]-Chapter 170โRuthless Dragons
"Quickโbring them," Goblin Lord said, waving his free palm.
The two goblins standing beside him nodded and dashed off. ๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐.๐ฐ๐ ๐ฆ
Giliberu kept his eye on the goblin kid's status.
Boom!
Goblin Lord threw the goblin kid's body aside as the two goblins returned, holding two human women like bagsโstill chained and handcuffed.
"Move aside," Goblin Lord yelled.
He picked up Giliberu and flashed a few meters away.
Bang!
The entire dwelling shattered into pieces. The two goblins nearby were flung a few meters away.
The two human women were also hurled into the airโbut they were caught by the goblin kid midair.
With a watering mouth, the goblin kid landed on the ground with two women, one in each arm.
Thud!
The women trembled in fear.
They were newly caught adventurers.
They both yelled:
"Let me go! Let me go!"
"Lowly stinky creature!"
But their words were useless.
The goblin kid was unconscious, his body moving on its own.
He tore through the already broken, bloody armor they wore.
He then engaged in the act as they shouted in pain.
"Ahhh!"
"Ahhh!"
Giliberu clenched his fists and turned away. Despite wanting to help, he was powerless.
'I cannot go against that kid with my current level. If I were still at my peak, I'd have defeated him already,' he mused bitterly, veins popping around his arms.
Goblin Lord patted his shoulder. "It's common for us goblins," he said, swallowing his dry throat.
"But our goblin ancestor, Gilibiliroโฆ" Giliberu asked, his voice trembling. "How did he hold it in for one month? Couldn't he have reached Demon King level alreadyโbecoming unstoppable in a mindless body?"
'Or was he stopped at peak Tier Three? Due to Voice of the World restrictions on Tier Four?' he wondered, recalling Instructor Thomas' explanation.
Goblin Lord shook his head. "Haven't you seen? We cannot overcome it frontally. We need to use other methods if you want to overcome it."
He walked to his dwelling, not caring about the ongoing activity behind him.
He signaled Giliberu to follow him, who was lost in his thoughts.
"Other methods?" Giliberu asked, following him.
"Like sealing magic," Goblin Lord replied.
"So sealing magic wasn't able to hold on?" Giliberu asked, already guessing the failure. 'The curse might have overpowered it.'
Goblin Lord nodded. "Yes. By one month, the seal wasn't able to bear the might of the carnal impulse of the goblins."
"Howโand why?" Giliberu asked. "How did the curse come into being in the first place?"
He didn't stop pouring his doubts. "Who even cursed us? And for what?"
Goblin Lord sat in his chair, entering his dwelling.
"The exact cause is unknown, but the seers and dragons have already answered the ancestors of goblins."
"They answered?" Giliberu muttered, voice cracking.
"Yes. Our ancestors searchedโroamed the entire worldโfor a solution," Goblin Lord said, slumping back in his chair and glaring at the ceiling bitterly. "At that time, powerful seers and dragonsโseeing our pathetic desire to overcome the carnal impulseโrevealed the truth."
"What is it?" Giliberu asked, unable to contain himself.
"The curse of Creation God," Goblin Lord replied, his hands falling on the armrest.
"Cursedโฆ by the Creation God?" Giliberu uttered, frowning. "How? Why would Creation God curse his creation?"
"They didn't reveal the answer," Goblin Lord replied plainly.
He slammed his palm on the chair, roaring, "Not only youโeven I and my forefathers wanted to know the answer!"
For a moment, he erupted with demonic force, creating small cracks around his surroundings.
Giliberu fell into thoughts. 'Whyโฆ what might be the cause?'
He didn't flinch at the Goblin Lord's surge of power.
'Waitโฆ potentialโฆ' He recalled the goblin race description. 'A race which can rival the dragonsโฆ'
He held his face and sighed. 'So that's how it is.'
'It's just that I don't understand why the Creation God would curseโฆ?' he thought. 'Did the dragons make the Creation God interfere, knowing the potential of goblinsโฆ?'
He recalled Professor Thomas' description of dragons.
While training under Thomas and Nobiโ
"Not badโฆ You are more durable than Michael," Thomas said, sipping his beer.
"He became a Golden Dragonโฆ so you'll become even more powerful," Nobi cheered, raising her fists.
Slime#47, who was doing push-ups under gravity, stood up and asked, "Dragons didn't do anything? Since Michael had become a Golden Dragon?"
Spotting no reaction from Nobi and Thomas, he continued, "I mean, wouldn't dragons feel a threat?"
"Because it was tough to evolve into a dragonโฆ they let him go," Nobi replied, sitting down.
"Dragons aren't any benevolent creatures," Thomas said, standing up from his chair. "They are lazy, ruthless, and arrogant....evil."
"If a beautiful princess's beauty is widespreadโฆ they'll kidnap beautiful women more than goblins," Nobi said, sighing. "They are more pathetic than goblins, you know."
"It's just that they have power, so everyone treats them like great beings," Thomas said, clenching his fists. "They mocked Michael and my training method."
"Huh?" Slime#47 tilted his head. 'What I asked, and what are they saying?' he frowned.
Noticing the frown, Nobi said with a small smile, "Dragons used Thomas and Michael's new Golden Dragon to build their publicityโand dragons almost slaughtered the entire lizard race."
"Almost??" Slime#47 asked, sitting down as Thomas cancelled the gravity spell.
"It was because of the hard training methodโฆ they left lizards alive," Nobi said, narrowing her eyes. "I mentioned almost here, since dragons slaughtered more than a hundred villages of lizardsโฆ more than one million lizards."
"What?" Slime#47 yelled.
"But dragons suppressed the slaughter and hid it about it," Thomas said, drinking beer like water.
"What's wrong?" Young Slime asked, as Thomas erupted with an insane amount of mana, cracking the entire arena.
"Everyone hid it from Michael," Nobi said, lips twitching. "Even as a new Golden Dragon, he didn't know the family that took him in killed his parents."
"Isn't that a blunt war?" Slime#47 yelled, clenching his fists.
"Noโฆ because only a single Green Dragon did all that," Nobi shook her head. "Almost waged a war is in fact true. If they did, they would send out an army of dragons."
Back to the presentโ
'Did Creation God curse goblins to protect them from those violent dragons or...?' Giliberu shook his head, unable to understand. 'Let's leave it for the future.'
"When would I be hit by the carnal impulse?" he asked, narrowing his eyes. "Can I even withstand it?"
'I'll kill myself if I can't, rather than clearing this trialโฆ' he paused as Mama Slime and other faces flashed through his mind.
'Is it worth it to force myself on a woman for my survivalโso I could save others?' He fell into deep thought, unable to find a solution.
It was against his morals to force himself on a woman, but if he died in this timeline, Mama Slime and the others would perish.
The images of Saint King Haruka's world flashed in his mind.
He lightly tapped his cheeks. 'Let's decide when I would be struck by it.'
Goblin Lord, leaning his head on his palm, said, "When you are five years old, you'll be hit by the first carnal impulse, and from that time, every fifteen days it will repeat."
"Is there no way toโฆ like, if we are in a fight against an opponentโฆ" Giliberu asked. "Suddenly getting hit by it in the middle of something important would be dangerous."
"We have no choice but to be prepared," Goblin Lord replied. "And it's the same every time. If the first carnal impulse strikes at midnight, then after fifteen days it will strike at the same midnight. And the next time at the same time, midnightโand the cycle continues."
"I see," Giliberu nodded, relieved.
'Yes. That's how he survived,' he glanced at the Goblin Lord.
"So, back to the topic," Goblin Lord waved his palm, signaling him to sit.
Giliberu sat on the floor, which was laid with torn tunics of adventurers as a carpet.
Goblin Lord asked, "What do you think about being Lord?"
"To ruleโleading our people to live happily," Giliberu replied instantly. "To keep our people safe."
"Yes, that is correct," The Goblin Lord nodded. "But is that all?"
"All?" Giliberu asked, frowning. "I didn't get you."
"A king is someone who makes tough decisions for the people while keeping them safe," Goblin Lord replied, narrowing his eyes. "Let me put you in a hypothetical situation."
"You are a king, and now you can only save a single personโbut two people are on death row. One is a young man, and the other is an old man," he asked. "Who would you save?"
'A typical question,' Giliberu mused. He had heard this kind of question multiple times. It was even used in an anime.
"The young one," he replied instantly.
"Oh? Why is that?" Goblin Lord asked, straightening his back.
"Because the young man has more life in front of him," Giliberu replied softly.
Goblin Lord shook his head. "You are wrong."
"Why?" Giliberu asked, frowning.
"You didn't even ask the question's conditions," Goblin Lord retorted. "Just after hearing the question, you replied. This is not the mentality of a king."
"Mentality of the kingโฆ" Giliberu muttered, noting the weight of those words.
"First, you should know the importance of the people," The Goblin Lord raised his finger. "If the young man is evilโwho kills people like blinking an eyeโit's better to leave him dead."
"And if he's righteous, but the old man is an important scholar who can create weapons, teach skillsโthen this old man must survive in place of the young man."
Giliberu was shocked, eyes widening.
"Because this old man could teach more young people like him," Goblin Lord continued. "And what's the use of that young man who isn't even as good as an old man with experience?"
"If the young man is very talented?" Giliberu asked, eyes still wide.
"Yes. If talentedโpick him," The Goblin Lord replied. "As a king, you must choose what is best for your people and you."
