Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 137: The Best Painkiller in the World Is... a Kiss!
Upon hearing this, Caden Lockwood’s face became even more grim and twisted.
Struggling to resist the urge to directly throw her aside, he stepped forward and continued walking towards the car, his steps steady yet somewhat quick, his gaze falling on her swollen hand, unable to hide his concern.
Evelyn Morgan pouted, feeling like she was talking to a brick wall.
However, she was still unwilling to give up and had more questions for him.
"So, you trusted me because you found evidence!" She sounded a bit displeased, "But since you went to find evidence, it shows you still trusted me a little. Thank you! But, how did you find the evidence? What kind of evidence is it?"
"Blabbermouth." Caden Lockwood’s tone was coarse, "Doesn’t your hand hurt?"
As he mentioned the pain in her hand, Evelyn suddenly came back to her senses.
She had been so focused on other thoughts that she hadn’t felt much pain.
Now she realized it was really quite painful, so painful that tears were about to flow.
Seeing the moisture in Evelyn Morgan’s bright eyes, Caden Lockwood’s heart tightened.
He silently blamed himself for bringing up her pain instead of distracting her more effectively.
Opening the car door, he placed her in the passenger seat, pulled over the seatbelt, and buckled her in.
Evelyn’s entire body tensed up, Caden Lockwood was too close to her, she couldn’t help but shrink back.
Her back was pressed tightly against the seat, she didn’t dare to breathe too heavily, her eyes cautious and wary.
Noticing Evelyn’s tension, Caden Lockwood’s eyes darkened slightly, seeing her prominent bust.
His large hand unconsciously clenched into a fist, he exhaled deeply, his dark eyes narrowed, "What is it that you always have in your head?"
"Me?" Evelyn pointed at herself, "I was..."
Before she could finish speaking, Caden Lockwood backed off, his expression haughty yet unable to hide the hint of guilt.
Evelyn puffed up angrily, feeling it was clearly not her who was overthinking, yet all the blame seemed to fall on her.
Damn it!
Why was she always the one at a disadvantage?
Caden Lockwood returned to the driver’s seat, looked at the lovely person beside him who was full of complaints, and his lips curved into a faint smile as he started the engine and headed to the nearest hospital.
The jade carving had hit her hand, the injury wasn’t light, but fortunately, the bones were unharmed.
Caden Lockwood accompanied Evelyn Morgan to get medication, and when the solution touched her swollen fingers, she cried out in pain.
"Be gentle!" Caden Lockwood shouted at the doctor, "Do you even know how to apply medicine?"
"Pain is inevitable." The doctor spoke meekly, "Please ask Mrs. Lockwood to bear with it. Painkillers aren’t very good for the body, after applying the medicine, the hand still needs bandaging, avoid water for a few days, try not to use this hand." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"But it’s my right hand that’s hurt!" Evelyn exclaimed, "My left hand is completely useless!"
"That’s what you get for showing off!" Caden Lockwood’s tone wasn’t kind.
He was genuinely annoyed with this woman, why did she have to put herself in the spotlight?
"If I had to do it again, I’d still do it." Evelyn said softly, "It’s only my hand that’s hurt; if it were you, it might have been your head."
Had he not stubbornly refused to dodge, she wouldn’t have been injured!
Hearing this, Caden Lockwood’s heart was struck heavily, his eyes filled with complex emotions—there was discomfort, rage, confusion, and a hint of being moved.
"Silly woman." He ruffled her hair, looked at the doctor, and commanded, "No matter what happens later, apply the medicine quickly and gently!"
Then, he leaned in to kiss Evelyn Morgan’s lips.
