Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 152: I Want to See You, I Have Something to Ask You
When the call connected, Evelyn was nervous.
Her heart was pounding "thump," "thump," so much that she found herself lost for words the next second.
"I want to see you." Her tone was low, "I have something to ask you."
Caden Lockwood sneered; she suddenly called him, and the first thing she said was that she wanted to ask him something.
What did she take him for?
"Not free." He coldly replied with two words.
Anticipating he would hang up, she quickly said, "If you have anger, just vent it on me, why take it out on Logan Shaw? Weren’t you very clear about your stance regarding Finn Lewis back then? If you weren’t that kind of person, why are you doing this now?"
Listening to Evelyn’s questioning, even complaints, Caden’s dark eyes darkened, unleashing a powerful cold aura.
These days, they hadn’t had any contact at all, and it was finally for Finn Lewis’ issue that she reached out?
Ha!
What was he thinking?
In front of her, what pride did he have left?
With a livid face, Caden gripped the phone tightly and said slowly, "I have a way to make him suffer more."
Saying that, he hung up.
Listening to the "beep beep beep" busy signal from the phone, Evelyn forced a wry smile.
She knew that finally she would face such a result.
But if he refused to see her, or even didn’t want to talk to her, then what could she do?
She couldn’t just let Caden Lockwood ruin Logan Shaw like this!
So she could only keep dialing Caden’s number.
But no matter how much she called, he wouldn’t answer anymore.
She stomped her foot in frustration, even if he had some grievances, couldn’t he just resolve them face to face?
She simply sent Caden a text message: "If you don’t answer my call, I’ll cause a scene and ruin your reputation!"
Seeing the message from Evelyn, Caden was so furious his face twisted.
His large hand clenched into a fist, the palm itching, he wanted to go back and deal with that reckless woman, let her taste how formidable he was!
Looking out the window, the weather that had been sunny for a long time suddenly clouded over; the rain forecasted for so long looked like it was finally coming down.
The long-delayed rain, just like that woman he wanted to meet yet didn’t want to meet, made Caden feel agitated.
"Rumble——"
A flash of lightning illuminated the dull sky, whitening his face as well.
Day suddenly turned to night, the sky was oppressively dark, as if it might collapse.
With a pen in hand, Caden casually grabbed a document, ready to handle business matters.
Looking at the densely packed words, he threw the pen sharply in annoyance, tugged at his tie, the veins at his temple throbbing, and his breath grew thick.
He wanted to see who was more formidable, him or Evelyn!
Evelyn stood at the entrance of The Lockwood Group, staring at her phone. Caden hadn’t replied to her text, nor answered her call, leaving her dejected.
She didn’t have the guts to cause a scene at the entrance; she just wanted to force him to meet her.
The thunder rolled one after another, the sound so loud, so intense, it felt like it was roaring past her ears.
The wind suddenly turned cold, scraping against her skin that hadn’t healed from a burn, causing a sharp pain.
The pouring rain fell relentlessly as she stood there, looking at the tall building before her, the rain soaking her hair, face, eyes, neck, and even her heart.
Everything felt utterly cold.
Her vision gradually blurred, seeing the security guard who wouldn’t let her in. She thought, he surely had already told Caden she was waiting here, right?
He would come out to see her, wouldn’t he?
