Caden Lockwood let out a cold snort, raised his thick eyebrows, and lifted his chin slightly, appearing both arrogant and overbearing.

He locked eyes with Logan Shaw, as if they were engaged in a silent battle of wills in their own space.

Neither side was willing to yield, the air around them brimmed with determination, and no one intended to back down.

Evelyn stood motionless in place, turned her head, looked towards Logan, and gave him a grateful smile before stepping back, standing alone by herself.

As she spoke, she averted her gaze and took a step forward.

Caden furrowed his brows tightly.

What did she mean by this?

The things she said that day, were they drunken ramblings or true feelings revealed by alcohol?

Just then, Cecilia Lynch rushed over.

Seeing the scene at the door, she hadn’t had a chance to understand what was going on before Julian Keaton grabbed her, coldly asking, "Why are you here?"

Cecilia was startled; she hadn’t even noticed Julian standing nearby earlier.

"Answer me!" Julian demanded angrily.

He called her every day, and she always refused to answer. When he went looking for her, she would avoid him like a plague.

A woman like her really infuriated him.

"We... arranged to have dinner together!" Cecilia replied honestly.

Upon hearing this, the anger on Caden’s face immediately subsided by more than half.

So it wasn’t Evelyn and Logan eating here?

And they invited Cecilia too?

Something deep flickered in his dark eyes as Evelyn happened to pass by him. He looked at her, his gaze landing on her sorrowful face and the ring on her finger.

She... was still wearing their wedding ring.

Instinctively, he reached out to grab her arm, but she jerked it away sharply, her burst of anger startling even him.

Panic flashed through Evelyn’s eyes. She bit her lips tightly, refusing to look back at Caden, and ran away.

In a moment of panic, Caden immediately chased after her, shouting, "Evelyn, stop right there!"

"Don’t come any closer!" Evelyn’s voice was choked with sobs, "I don’t want to see you!"

Watching Evelyn’s retreating figure, Caden ground his teeth in frustration.

What had he done!

Cecilia wanted to chase after Evelyn.

Evelyn running off alone truly made people uneasy.

With that, Julian lifted Cecilia onto his shoulder and walked towards where his car was parked.

Watching Julian’s retreating figure, Caden awkwardly tugged at the corners of his lips.

What was the relationship between Julian and Cecilia?

Was the woman troubling Julian actually Cecilia?

Shaking his head, Caden currently had no interest in meddling with others’ problems. Looking around, he realized Logan had disappeared at some point.
