Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 200: Is There a Way to Reconcile Them
"What!" Aunt May widened her eyes at Evelyn Morgan’s words, "You both... divorced? Young Madam, you must be joking! How could you be divorced?"
Evelyn didn’t speak, softly biting her thin lips, her eyes red.
"Really... really divorced?" Aunt May was somewhat in disbelief, "What happened? You should just humble yourself to the young master! You’ve just been married for such a short time, how could you be divorced already?"
"I was never worthy of him in the first place." Evelyn’s voice was soft and gentle, "Getting a divorce is quite normal!"
"Who says that?" Aunt May was heartbroken, "Young Madam, you’re pure, kind, and optimistic; you’re a perfect match with the young master! Besides, since you’re already married, you shouldn’t divorce so easily."
"I’m not the one who wanted the divorce." Evelyn felt aggrieved, "He was the one who wanted it! Boo hoo—It’s not me..."
Aunt May was even more baffled.
As someone experienced, how could she not see Caden Lockwood’s affection for Evelyn Morgan?
But there seemed to be a cold war between this young couple. Could it be that something else happened leading to the divorce?
Seeing Evelyn choke sobbingly, Aunt May hugged her into her arms, gently patting her back, comforting her.
As night fell gradually, the more Evelyn thought about it, the sadder she became.
Especially, why was it that she couldn’t find the ring no matter how hard she looked?
A car approached from a distance, and Evelyn was startled. She quickly wiped away her tears and looked towards where the sound was coming from, thinking Caden Lockwood had returned.
But she was disappointed.
The person who came was not Caden Lockwood, but Julian Keaton.
Just now, Julian Keaton had been having a good meal with Cecilia Lynch when Sean Ashton suddenly contacted him, saying Caden Lockwood had a headache and was resting in the office.
Knowing his boss was in an extremely bad mood, Sean Ashton asked Julian if he could try to persuade the boss’s wife to visit the office, so they wouldn’t go through with the divorce.
Julian, feeling helpless, also understood Caden’s awkwardness. He could only let Cecilia head back to the restaurant first while he went to find Evelyn, planning to meet later.
From a distance, Julian saw Evelyn crying in Aunt May’s arms. On the way, he had already thought of a plan.
"Where’s the medicine at home?" Julian feigned an urgent expression, "Caden suddenly had a headache, and there’s no medicine. I need to deliver it quickly!"
Upon hearing this, Evelyn’s expression changed, and she hurriedly asked, "Where is he?"
As she spoke, she instinctively turned back to the villa to fetch medicine.
"Aren’t there always medicines in his suit? How could they be all gone? So how many times has he been in pain recently?"
She muttered to herself, speaking out loud, in a fluster, she didn’t notice the sly smile in Julian’s eyes.
With her heart in her throat, images of Caden Lockwood having headaches flashed through her mind.
Filling with deep concern, she resolutely ran towards the bedroom; the pain in her ankle was excruciating. She gritted her teeth, and after just a few steps, a fine sweat broke out all over her body.
Paying no mind to the pain, all she knew was that Caden Lockwood was in more pain than she was, a hundred or a thousand times more, and she had to quickly get the medicine to Julian to send over. She hadn’t even thought about the flaws in his story.
"Young Madam, slow down! Do you not need your leg anymore!" Aunt May worriedly followed, "Where’s the medicine? You could just tell me to fetch it!"
But Evelyn seemed not to hear, anxiously pulling the medicine out of the drawer. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Watching Evelyn’s worried and anxious expression, a playful interest flashed in Julian’s eyes.
To say that Evelyn had no feelings for Caden Lockwood, he wouldn’t believe it!
Since they both cared about each other, why argue so long, even to the point of divorce?
