Soul World Of Strong Souls-Chapter 70: Retrieve the Princess
The afternoon light heat scourged the land. The king was outside with Gilthunder and 5 other soldiers. The king was facing the gate, while the 6 soldiers were in a row facing the house door.
A strong voice from the king filled the air as he said, "Gil, make this mission a success. The princess can be there; if she’s there, don’t let her slip away." The king said, talking about her daughter as if he was talking about an enemy or something like that.
Gilthunder realized the king’s words, and he said, "But sir, I’m sorry for questioning your ideas, but won’t she hate you for that? He asked, his eyes narrowed and his face furrowed.
He looked aside as if he was embarrassed; he then scratched his beard and said, "You have a point, but how are we going to know whether she’s there or not? What if she was kidnapped or attacked in the city?"
"I guess it will be better to verify whether she’s there or not because if we don’t, we will question ourselves until our heads explode. So to make sure that she’s there, we should check." Gilthunder suggested.
He grinned while he said, "Good point, Gil, hurry up before the dark rolls over." He was glaring at the soldiers in front of him.
Gilthunder responded, "Yes, sir!"
Gilthunder was about to turn around until the king said, "And remember, no forcing her because I can lose her love forever for just being overprotective." The king’s look was sorrowful; he was stressed about his missing daughter.
Gil silently criticized, saying, ’Really, I’m the one who has the point.’
Suddenly, all the soldiers said, "YES SIR!" at the same time.
The soldiers took off with one cart. They were all in their silver gear that had an emblem on their chest.
Meanwhile, the princess was in Satoru’s place. She had her eyes dripping wet while she sat on the ground. She was inside a white-lit room where Satoru was standing nearby, next to the door that was facing the gate, and the gate was on the western side.
The princess was crying for Kai since she had hope that Kai would be there, spending the day after getting his butt kicked by Goro.
With a sobbing and crackling voice, Sonia said, "So where’s Kai?" She asked, her voice far more different from her original voice. It was a bit too open and loud, making it different.
Satoru went next to her and held her shoulder and said, "Calm down, Princess, please; you can’t cry this much for a bodyguard, you know?"
With her different, crying voice, she said, "He’s not only my bodyguard!" as she wiped her tears.
Satoru widened his eyes, trying to understand her. "Huh?"
"He’s my close friend." Within a second, she answered him.
Satoru sneered and said, "Close friend, huh? Understandable. That’s why you let him become your bodyguard because the Sonia I knew didn’t want bodyguards." Satoru’s words had some provocation inside, but the princess didn’t put it in her mind. She only continued sobbing and sniffing.
"Yes, he’s my friend, and he can’t just leave me like that!" *Sniff sniff.*
Satoru’s face changed as he remembered the princess’s words. He held his right cheek and said, "He fought with Goro, right?"
The princess faced down with her eyes. "Yes, he mistakenly attacked Goro’s people."
"Mhh, that’s something, which means he was crushed to dust by Goro!"
"No, he wasn’t! There was no dead person around, only Goro, who was lying on the ground."
*Gasps*, "What, Goro, on the ground?" Satoru asked in astonishment, his eyes wide open and his face filled with curiosity.
The princess raised her face and glared at Satoru and said, "Yes, he was on his stomach, and he was on the verge of death, but people helped him by pumping him, pushing his chest until he woke up," she said while her eyes drifted to the left side, where there was a hallway.
"Those are some news that are hard to believe. Goro, nearly dead? That’s more like a story." Satoru shook his head as he denied Sonia’s words; he walked towards a stool that was nearby and sat down. The stool wasn’t that bad; it was just round, made of wood with 4 legs, and less than a meter tall.
"I know, but he was on the ground, and the castle soldiers took him in!"
"Mhh, that’s almost good to hear!" said Satoru as he scratched his head.
"What’s that?" she asked.
Satoru explained, "You’ve built yourselves an enemy. Anytime, any day, we will receive the news that Luminaris Castle was left in ruins."
The princess gulped, and she had her eyes widened. She then curiously asked, "Wait, what makes you say that?"
*Cleared his throat* "Goro is the number one villain of Luminaris, and he had a team; it’s either of other worlders or some normal guys who supported him. And maybe, he made some alliances with other low ranks; let’s just say others in the top 10 or 20."
"That’s bad, I hope...!" The princess got cut. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Satoru then said, "There’s a knock at the gate; I’ll check..." Before he finished, the princess interrupted him.
She said, "No, I’m sure it’s Gil!"
Satoru got confused and asked, "Gil, you mean Gilthunder?"
"Yes, he’s the one who knew that I was here!"
Satoru checked out the gate on the window and said, "OHH, looks like the castle wagon, so it’s him."
Suddenly, Gilthunder shouted, "Satoru, we are here in peace; please open the gate!"
Satoru responded, "Coming!"
Satoru got out first and went to the gate; he moved as if he saw his friend because of the speed he made.
When he reached the gate, he said, "Hey there, Gilthunder!"
Gilthunder slightly smiled and said, "Satoru Huh, I thought you were not in Luminaris!"
"No, I’m here, in Luminaris, enjoying my calm, private life!"
Gil nodded as he said, "That’s good!"
Satoru said, "I thought maybe you joined the Luminaris soldiers."
"No, I’m alright in the castle."
"Mhh!"
Gilthunder said, "So, we are here to see the princess if she’s here!"
Satoru widened his eyes and said, "What? Wait, the princess is missing?"
"Please don’t play dumb!" Gilthunder said as he fiercely glared at Satoru while he held his scabbard that was on his left side.
Satoru sneered and raised his hands, saying, "Hey, hey, I heard you. There she is," as he moved aside, and then the princess appeared.
"Alright, she’s here; that’s a relief," said Gilthunder as he sighed.
Satoru held his chin and silently said, ’A relief? What is he even talking about? Wait a second, she called him Gil instead of his real name. How sweet. Let’s see her actions.’ Satoru waited for her actions towards Gil.
The princess slowly walked, her eyes glued on the ground. She was lost in her thoughts, thinking of her bodyguard, Kai.
The princess was muttering to herself, saying, "Kai, where are you? Please show yourself; I can’t lose my first...."
Suddenly and unexpectedly, Gil said, "Okay, we are leaving!"
"Leaving?" Satoru widened his eyes in astonishment as he asked.
"Yes, we’re here to verify whether she was around or not."
Satoru said, "Ohh, okay, goodbye..."
Before he finished his sentence, the princess said, "Gil, wait!"
"HUH!?" Gil stopped and turned around.
