Soul World Of Strong Souls-Chapter 83: “why did you carry the head?”
NOTE : This Chapter continues from the last one, if you didn’t read the last one, go and read it, then continue here.
In a dark room, lights off but a bit of light going in through the curtains since there was a moon, sat the princess, who had her eyes wide open while lost in her thoughts. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
She had her pink nightdress on, with a pink hat to hold her hair while sleeping.
The princess’s mind was on Kai, thinking almost all night since it was past midnight. Her eyes were looking scared, filled with despair. They were also tearing up after she thought of Kai’s generosity in his 2 days.
’This is not true!’ she thought while she shook her head. She changed her eye position and glared a bit to the right. A simple drift of eyes for 20 degrees.
She continued saying, ’Kai is alive. I know it; he’s alive!’ She said so while she nodded, ’But where can he be? Kai, please, where are you?’ she asked herself while she bent her neck to the front, and she glared at her hands that were on top of her thighs.
Her mind was racing, trying to figure out where he could be.
’It’s ridiculous to think that he’s dead since we found no body; he’s alive somewhere, or.... Maybe he was taken in by the mages.’ When she said "mages," she widened her eyes fast, and they trembled in relief and happiness.
She got her legs bent up. She held them with her hands and put her head on top of her knees. ’Phew, that’s a relief...,’ she said, but suddenly, her heart found no rest.
It thudded hard for a few seconds while she was paused. She then resumed saying, ’Wait, mages once tried to kill him, so if they know or sense abnormality from him, then he’ll be doomed. What a pain....’ She took her blanket and covered his face out of frustration. She wanted to release her anger too. So she growled inside of the blanket.
She then took it off and said, "Let’s just hope he’s not there; maybe he hid in those apartments that are still under construction..." She returned her face onto her knees again while she muttered.
"Kai, where are you? What did you eat?" she asked herself while she raised her head and glared at the table that was short, next to her bed. It was more of a coffee table. She then thought, ’That’s why I didn’t even eat; it’s hard. How can I eat when I don’t have any idea of what you ate...?’
"Haaa," she sighed, and then she said, "I should try to sleep; maybe I’ll get some ideas through the night to find you." she thought, while she stretched her legs and lay down on her back.
She continued to sniff, her eyes slowly and gently closing. Her mouth was sealed but again trembling in frustration, and there was more trouble in her mind.
Her mind was on Kai; her caring heart didn’t give her time to rest, and her mind kept on replaying his face. She saw him a lot, and some pictures of him displayed like a dream in her mind, leaving her more confused, but she took all those as a daydream or hallucinations.
She lay down and glared at the rooftop. She tried to close her eyes, but her heart sat as a judge in her chest and proved her guilty of Kai’s situation. The support from her mind got her to wake up.
She went to the right side of her bed and sat there, her legs sticking on the cold floor. She sobbed while she glared down, her tears slowly dropping like the roof leak on a rainy day.
Slowly, her voice started as a murmur, saying, "Kai!"
She continued sniffing and continued talking; the third time, her voice was barely above a whisper while she called out for him.
The time when she called, her mind flashed a lot of her moments with Kai. She was then forced to stand up. She took off and went to the bathroom.
She washed her face with some water that was in a brown-looking sink that was like ... created with mud, but it was well made because it was also shiny.
There was a simple traditional tap too. It was made of metal, but it was different from the modern ones.
It was straight from the wall going to the sink. It had a handle that made it unique. The handle was a line that crossed on top of the pivot that was holding on the pipe that was the tap, leaving both of these as a cross when looking from the top, just that the handle was normally small.
To open the tap, she pulled the handle up, and it moved as she wanted. When she pulled, there was little water that came out. In order for it to come out a lot, she turned the handle clockwise. The water pressure increased. When the handle crossing line was aligned with the pipetap, the pressure was at max.
She washed her face with some water and closed. To close, she turned the handle until it made a cross with the pipe tap; then, she pushed the handle down, and the water was shut.
She went into her room and took off her hat that was to hold her hair from covering her pillow. Her blonde curly hair fell down to her back. She then walked to her window and stood there quietly, glaring at the world that was quiet and a bit light from the moonlight.
In her parents’ room, there was tension from failing to sleep. The king was on the left side of the bed when coming from where their legs were. Then the queen was on the right.
The two were facing at their sides while their eyes were wide open. They didn’t know all that; they were quiet, their thoughts on their daughter, who was in pain.
It was past midnight, but they were still awake.
The queen hardly released a lot of air and looked at the king.
"Hey honey?" she said, trying to hear whether he was sleeping or not. Surprisingly, he responded.
"Mhh!" he said.
"Are you still awake?"
"Can’t get sleepy; I’m sure Sonia is awake too." he said while he faced upwards and glared at the rooftop. The queen did the same while she had her hands on her stomach.
To be continued
