The ball of light seemed like a cocoon, Lily held out her hand towards it, tears beginning to form in her eyes as Luna held her back, her own expression was conflicted.

"MOKU!"

Leo's attempt to console her was interrupted as she let out another tearful cry. Horo let out a sigh before he rapped his knuckles gently on Lily's head.

"Enough you idiot. Your joke is not funny..."

Lily's head was lowered as everyone began to stare at her silently. It was in the silence that everybody heard a faint crackling noise coming from the light.

"Hehe. I was caught~!"

Lily raised her head and winked playfully while sticking her tongue out while putting her own knuckles against her head in a cutesy fashion. One of Luna's eyes twitched as she had been fooled by her friend.

Fighting the urge to seriously punch Lily, Luna grabbed her shoulders and slowly growled

"There will be no midnight snacks for you for a week!"

Lily looked genuinely horrified as if the world was about to end.

"L-Let's not be too hasty Luna...it was just a joke! There is no need for this cruel punishment!"

"Wanna make it a month?"

"...No"

"Good. Then no more jokes like this ever again. Understood?"

"Ahh?!"

"I-I mean understood! No jokes like that ever again!"

Leo didn't know whether to laugh or cry over the fact that Luna had disciplined and threatened her best friend by taking away her snacks of all things.

"Sorry to interrupt this lovely family drama but I think that ball of light is cracking.."

Nyx interruption caused everyone to turn their head back to the Ball of the light that had cracks like it was some sort of egg. In an anticlimactic turn of events, the ball seemed to crumple and a green fuzzball plopped out onto the floor with a soft thud.

"Moku! Are you okay?!"

Lily once again raised her voice as she rushed to the ball of fur that was completely motionless.

"He...He isn't dead is he?"

Sonata asked nervously. Horo shook his head as he noticed the heat radiating from the ball of fur. He had a wry smile on his face as he replied

"No. He is very much alive...just taking a nap. It seems like he is going to take after his master~"

As if to confirm what he said was true a notification screen appeared in front of Lily's eyes.

As the glowing system message faded from Lily's view, she blinked a few times, stunned into silence. The others stared at her, waiting for some kind of explanation, but her eyes were glued to the tiny green fuzzball lying motionless on the floor.

Then, with the tiniest yawn imaginable, the fuzzball twitched. Raising its head, everyone saw that the adorable Kobold had changed into a genuine puppy with pointy ears that were far too big for its little head.

The puppy opened its mouth and tried to bark but only a high pitch squeak came out. It tried to stand up and walk only to tumble haplessly into Lily's lap.

"Oh my GOD! My baby Moku is just way too adorable!"

Lily squealed as she scooped up her new pet into her arms, snuggling him tightly.

"So now we have 3 Cuties in our party. We should name this group the Cute Brigade~!"

"Absolutely not!

Horo was the first to shut down Nyx's suggestion, he raised his fist in indignation while the rest of the girls minus Luna gave him odd looks.

Luna tilted her head, a dangerous glint in her eye.

"...So you're saying Leo isn't cute?"

Horo froze.

"...That's not what I said—wait—"

"You totally implied it,"

Nyx grinned, already sidling up beside Leo to drape herself over his shoulder.

"Don't feel bad Cutie~! Not everyone has the taste to appreciate an adorable thing like you~"

Leo felt a vein throbbing on his forehead as he remained still.

"Nyx. Three things. First...I don't like the idea of being cute. Secondly...I would probably vomit if Horo tried to flirt with me again. Lastly, if you don't get off of me, I will punch you...probably multiple times..."

Nyx blinked innocently, still comfortably latched onto Leo's shoulder like a koala.

"Ehhh~? You're so violent, Leo~ But even your threats are adorable~"

Leo groaned and, true to his word, started prying her off like a very persistent sticker.

Meanwhile, Horo crossed his arms with a scowl, muttering under his breath

"For the record, I didn't know he was a girl at the time..."

Sonata tried and failed to suppress a snort.

"You do realize that sounds worse, right?"

Luna rolled her eyes, deciding she'd had enough of this entire exchange. She stepped between Leo and Nyx, gently pushing the rogue away while pulling her brother into a side hug, much to his dismay.

"There. He's safe now."

Leo squirmed.

"I'm not a damsel in distress..."

Lily, still hugging Moku like a prized plushie, finally joined the conversation with a dreamy sigh.

"Honestly, all of you arguing just makes me more sure. Cute Brigade is perfect. We've got Leo, Moku, and obviously me~!"

Nyx narrowed her eyes with a smirk kas she stared at Moku who was nestled comfortably in Lily's cleavage.

"Sorry. But you aren't the third Cutie~! I would say you are a hottie. Bad for Boys and girls with overactive imaginations~!"

Lily blushed as Luna scowled at Nyx and let out a complaining sigh.

"Hey... would it kill you to NOT sexually harass people?"

"Quite possibly~!

Lily coughed to hide her embarrassment before speaking again.

"A-Anyways. All in favor of our official name being Cute Brigade raise your hand and say Aye. On a count of 3 okay~? One. Two. Three"

Only 2 hands went into the air. Lily looked like she had been betrayed as only Ny had supported the motion. Lily turned her gaze to Luna, Horo, Leo and Sonata who all had their own choice of words for Lily's suggestion.

"Absolutely not. Way too embarrassing" - Luna

"Are you stupid? Why would I enjoy being associated with that?"- Horo

"Are you trying to ruin my mental health? You are, aren't you?!"- Leo

"Umm...It's interesting...but I would prefer a more...traditional name" - Sonata

The rejection from her friends caused Lily to drop to her knees and act like she was devastated

"The Cute Brigade is going to die like this?! I even had an idea to get Leo a pretty dress to walk around town with Moku after this~"

"You act like it was ever alive,"

Horo deadpanned. Meanwhile Leo looked like he was horrified that Lily had casually dropped the idea that she had something in mind that would absolutely be traumatic if she got her way.

"Sis..I don't know if Lily is a psychopath or just plain stupid"

"Honestly...its a bit of both I think"

Luna nodded her head, agreeing with Leo while inwardly regretting that she had denied the vote. She did kinda wanna see Leo in a cute dress.

Sonata arched an eyebrow.

"Also, your 'brigade' is two people, a wolf pup, and a potential hostage."

It was like he was trying to motivate Lily. Something Leo definitely did not want. "I'm calling it anyway,"

Lily huffed, rising dramatically.

Nyx, completely unfazed, raised her hand for a high-five with Lily.

They high-fived. It echoed louder than it should have.

Leo just stared.
