Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1455: Devastating Reports
Although the Magus Alliance did not send additional law-wielding knights or mages to reinforce Sein and his allies against the Grand Eye Demon World’s growing forces, they instead dispatched a legion Sein knew all too well—the Huusian Army.
On the eve of the Huusian Army’s arrival, Sein and the law-wielding powerhouses stationed across the asteroid belt received multiple devastating reports.
The Magus Civilization’s legions, which had been advancing deep into the Netherworld Star Domain, had suffered a crushing defeat!
The Gallant Federation’s vanguard fleet had pursued the retreating Magus Civilization forces all the way to the borders of the Sanoras Star Domain, utterly routing them!
If not for Odin, the Divine King of Titans, who stepped forward to lead his legions against the federation’s fiercest assault, followed by other reinforcements from the Magus Civilization and allied Overlords within the star domain, the painstakingly prepared second defensive line in Sanoras would have collapsed.
Coinciding with this grim news came another report: multiple overlord-class fleets of the Gallant Federation had established a foothold within the Netherworld Star Domain.
The federation’s overlord-class forces in that star domain now numbered seven!
Among them, two exceptionally powerful overlord-class giant mobile suits had even appeared on the frontlines.
Rumor had it that one of the Magus Civilization’s overlords, who had led a counteroffensive into the Netherworld Star Domain, was gravely wounded by these forces.
This incident nearly marked the first death of an overlord since the Clash of Civilizations began.
The flood of bad news left Sein and his comrades reeling.
At that very moment, the Eye Demons launched a sudden, ferocious assault against Sein’s defensive line in the gray-white asteroid belt.
The Eye Demons and the Gallant Federation had clearly long been aware of the situation in the Netherworld Star Domain.
Their reinforcements across multiple fronts had been carefully coordinated, meant to stretch the Magus Civilization’s forces thin between the Netherworld and Sanoras star domains.
Although Sein and his allies received news fairly quickly, the grand strategy behind the Clash of Civilizations was far beyond their control.
For Rank Four beings like them, their duty was to only obey the Magus Alliance’s orders and hold the fort.
“How could we have lost?” Sein could not wrap his mind around it.
The defeat had come far too suddenly.
It was not just him; every Magus World knight and mage was likely asking the same question.
But the Netherworld Star Domain battlefield was too far away.
Unless Sein personally requested a transfer to investigate the Netherworld and Sanoras war zones, he would not gain any meaningful information.
Even so, he had seen the destructive might and scale of the federal fleets with his own eyes. Another defeat for the Magus Civilization on the frontlines was shocking, but not entirely unexpected.
The Clash of Civilizations was full of unpredictability.
Still, the Magus Civilization’s repeated losses in the Netherworld Star Domain were deeply troubling.
Wars between civilizations often turned on “momentum”, and theirs had clearly begun to fade in recent years.
Even when the Magus Civilization achieved victories in smaller battles, all attention inevitably returned to the major warfronts.
Shaking his head, Sein knew that the struggle there was far beyond his control. All he could do now was focus on his own responsibilities.
As long as every knight and mage carried out their roles and fought with everything they had, Sein remained confident that victory would still be theirs.
“Maximize the fortresses’ firepower systems! Hold back the Eye Demons!” he ordered. “Also, send word to all garrison legions in Radbow World, have them dispatch reinforcements here immediately!”
Facing the Eye Demon legion’s full-scale assault, Sein mobilized every defensive force around the asteroid belt and even showed up on the frontlines himself.
At this moment, his earlier decision to abandon the offensive proved wise.
Had they attacked instead, the arrival of reinforcements from the Grand Eye Demon World and the Gallant Federation would have placed them in a perilous position.
Even if Sein and his men could survive, the heavy casualties from such an assault would have made holding this asteroid belt nearly impossible.
By maintaining a defensive stance from the start, they were able to hold the line with everything they had.

Sein and his group endured immense hardship during their long standoff in the asteroid belt.
At first, they faced only six Rank Four Eye Demons and above. But as more federal fleets arrived, the pressure on Sein’s forces grew exponentially.
It seemed the federation had discovered a stable teleportation channel that was directly linked to the Grand Eye Demon World.
When four federal fleets, each with power rivaling a Rank Four entity, and two Rank Four giant mobile suits appeared on the battlefield, Sein and his group began to struggle.
At this level of warfare, personal valor meant little.
Though Sein possessed the strength to rival a Rank Five being, the opposing legion had its own Rank Five Eye Demon.
Worse still, as time passed, the enemy reinforcements only multiplied.
Many Magus Civilization troops on the frontline began to feel that they would soon be completely buried under the endless barrage of fire from the Gallant Federation and the Eye Demons.
It was in this desperate atmosphere that Sein and his comrades finally welcomed the arrival of the Huusian Army.
“Who would’ve thought we would be fighting side by side again under circumstances like these? You don’t regret joining the Magus Alliance, do you?” Sein asked wearily.
Though his words carried a hint of humor, the Huusian King—who had just arrived on this asteroid belt—replied with solemn conviction.
“Of course not. The Huusians have joined the Magus Alliance and sealed our pact. We will fight alongside the Magus Civilization until the very end.”
Frequent changes in allegiance were not a luxury most civilizations could afford, certainly not the Huusians.
Under the Magus Civilization’s banner, the Huusian King had no choice but to see this path through to its conclusion.
He had no doubt already heard about the Magus Civilization’s crushing defeats in the Netherworld Star Domain.
Magus World had not tried to suppress such information, and likely could not have, even if it wanted to.
Whatever the Huusian King truly thought deep down was something only he knew.
“I believe the Magus Civilization will still win,” Sein said, patting him on the shoulder. “The decision you made back then was not a mistake.”
The Huusian King nodded. After receiving his new garrison assignment from Sein, he casually inquired about the well-being of his two daughters.
Sein had not spent much time with Gwyneira and Gwyndira ever since they had joined him.
Both were now in Radbow World, along with Selina and Eileen from the Divine Tower of Ashes.
Sein had always taken good care of those close to him.
The battlefield in this asteroid belt was far too dangerous, while Radbow World offered greater safety.
