Chapter 1460: Elite Combat Legions

A swarm of dragons blotted out the skies, roaring at the Gallant Federation’s fleets ahead.

Scorching dragon breath swept across the void, turning the battlefield into a blazing sea of fire.

The size of Rank Two and higher dragons easily rivaled the size of middle-class federal ships.

Their hardened claws tore through the metal hulls that the Gallant Federation took such pride in.

Most dragon riders wielded dragon lances, diving headlong into the fray as the spearpoint of the Magus Civilization’s assault.

When the Dragon Knights charged into the federal fleets, the enemy was already descending into chaos due to the Netherworld creatures.

Only a handful of high-ranking Netherworld beings knew Commander Blood River’s real intentions.

The rest had no idea what was happening until it was too late.

Many of them genuinely believed they had already sworn loyalty to the Gallant Federation.

Even several Rank Six Netherworld powerhouses were left stunned and confused by the sudden betrayal.

The Gallant Federation, of course, did not care who among the Netherworld troops were loyal or not.

As soon as reports came in that their rear formations were under attack, nearly every federal warship turned its cannons on the Netherworld legions, eliminating the nearest threat.

The chaos that erupted among the Netherworld forces opened the perfect window for the Magus Civilization’s counterattack.

The Byrne Empire’s Dragon Knight Legion led the charge.

Close behind came the Griffin Legion of the Alveroth Empire, the Wyvern Legion of the Northern Witches Council, the mechanical constructs of Steel City, the undead hordes of the Marmett Union, the giants of Titan World, the elves of Elven World, and those from Beastmen World!

These were the Magus Civilization’s finest legions deployed to the Sanoras Star Domain’s frontline battlefield.

While the mighty griffins could not match dragons in physical size, their overwhelming numbers more than made up for it.

With sleek wings, razor-sharp steel talons, and bodies wrapped in layers of enchanted armor, they stood proudly as one of Magus World’s strongest legions—second only to the dragons themselves.

The wyverns, classified as a sub-dragon species, excelled in venomous attacks.

Through generations of genetic refinement and modification by the Northern Witches Council, these creatures had evolved far beyond ordinary sub-dragons in both adaptability and combat efficiency.

The wyverns carried not only knights but also witches on their backs, fighting in perfect coordination with them.

The mechanical constructs from Steel City formed another specialized force, one that had only returned to the frontlines in great numbers after the Neisse Civilization War.

At first glance, they resembled the Gallant Federation’s robotic legions. But their frames were far larger, their cores powered by pure magic, and their surfaces inscribed with complex array patterns that allowed them to draw in elemental energy from the environment for self-repair.

This vast army of mechanical constructs embodied the hopes and ambitions of a new generation of Magus World mechanics.

This age was, without question, the golden era of mechanical advancement.

From the fallen Neisse Civilization to the Rosen Dynasty—now aligned with the Magus Alliance—and even the Gallant Federation itself, the accumulated knowledge of these world civilizations had all contributed to pushing the field of mechanics to unprecedented heights.

In the earliest ages, Magus had been synonymous with power. The very name of their world reflected that.

Across the ancient, medieval, and modern eras, mages held the highest authority. Among all of this profession’s branches, the Elementalists were both the most numerous and the most influential.

But many of Magus World’s greatest minds now believed that after the Elementalists, the mechanics would rise to become the new dominant force of their civilization!

This was an era when the mechanics were most ambitious, despite there being only one known soul-level mechanic alive today.[Ref]Translator’s Note: Soul-level mechanic simply just meant they are soul overmage who specializes in mechanical arts. They are also known generally as an overlord-level being.[/ref]

But who could say there wouldn’t be a second? A third? Or even more to come?

Meanwhile, the undead hordes of the Marmett Union Alliance kept a low profile on the battlefield.

Like a silent gray tide, they advanced toward the federal fleets, unafraid of dying because they had technically already “died” once.

In truth, among all members of the Magus Alliance, they were the most fearless.

On this front, however, none drew more attention than the Titan Legion. Almost everyone summoned to this battlefield was among the elite of their kind.

Even the weakest of them stood at over ten meters tall and possessed a Rank One life level.

Titan World was one of the only two civilizations in the Magus Alliance, alongside Magus World itself, that fielded exclusively native Rank One or higher beings in interplanar warfare!

In other words, not a single Titan below Rank One could be found on this battlefield.

The enormous Titans charged in tight square formations, slamming forward against the Gallant Federation’s metallic defense line.

At the very front stood the heart of Titan World’s faith—Odin, the Divine King himself.

Clad in azure armor crackling with lightning, the God of Gods raised his spear, Gungnir, and pointed it at the enemy.

In that instant, millions of Titans roared and charged in the direction the world-class weapon pointed!

Meanwhile, the elven legion from the Grand Elven World was among the most diverse yet coordinated forces in the Magus Alliance.

Three-headed Khimairas, each the size of a dragon, soared through the stars with elven priests on their backs.

Swift Horned Eagles carried elven archers across the skies, while lumbering through the chaos were the Hill Giants—towering beings said to have been forged by the Elven God through the fusion of Amethyst World’s geo elementals and Titan bloodlines, then nurtured by the ley lines of Elven World.

Whether that legend was true or not, the giants were still a sight to behold.

On the ground, tens of thousands of colossal war trees transported from the Elven World had taken root across the Sanoras front.

Coordinating their assault with the elves were the beastmen, basked in the resonant glow of war songs as they charged with unmatched speed.

Komodo War Beasts thundered forward in waves, shaking the ground with their heavy footsteps.

Each beastman was enhanced by the halo of war songs like Berserk, Command, Clarity, and more.

The Beastmen World might have been one of the poorest members of the Magus Alliance, but their elite combat legions were among the fiercest anywhere. Only a few dared to challenge them head-on.

With every legion striking in unison, the Magus Civilization’s sudden show of strength on the Sanoras Star Domain front was nothing short of impressive!
