Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1480: Energy Amethyst
Tossing aside the sweat-soaked towel, Sia stepped into the shower in her room at the divine tower.
Cool water flowed from the hydro elemental array, gradually calming her restless mind.
As she washed herself, she thought about reaching out to Reina.
As fellow demigod-level knights, they had plenty in common to talk about. However, the laws they wielded and their bloodline transformation paths were completely different.
So when it came to breaking through to Rank Four, Reina probably could not offer much advice.
Sia would be better off consulting a law-wielding expert well-versed in pyro elemental laws.
“Should I ask the Order of the Steel Fist? Or maybe turn to my family for help? I wonder if there’s anyone else in Magus World who’s skilled in demonic flame laws,” she mused.
After cleaning up, Sia put on her fiery red armor and headed for the exit of the divine tower.
The armor had been specially forged by Sein himself, crafted with care from the scales of the God of Fire Crickets.
The Radbow Plane defense had been so brutal that by the time the war ended, the armor was covered in scratches.
Though Sein had not yet found time to repair it since their return to Magus World, Sia took excellent care of it herself.
A knight’s presence in the Divine Tower of Ashes was nothing unusual.
Ashenreach had always been a place of tolerance. Every day, countless knights and mages from all across Magus World arrived there.
The deployment of half a million dark creatures during the expedition to the Grand Eye Demon World’s star domain had completely changed how Ashenreach’s mages and knights viewed those underground beings.
After all, they had fought side by side, entrusting their lives to each other.
Now, the mages of the Divine Tower of Ashes no longer attacked dark creatures on sight like they used to.
In the commercial districts surrounding the divine tower, one could even occasionally spot dark creatures or demihumans.
These beings had already woven themselves into the tower’s growing economy.
And in time, such harmony and coexistence would only become more common.
With a heavy sword strapped across her back, Sia had barely stepped past the tower gates when her expression hardened.
Standing before her was someone she abhorred.
Kleist, a demigod-level knight from the Order of the Cyclonic Plume, had fought alongside Sia for many years during the Radbow World War.
A widow always attracted unwanted attention.
Throughout the campaign, Kleist had many opportunities to work closely with Sia during missions.
Somewhere along the way, he learned she was divorced and that her ex-husband was dead.
That was when he began his relentless pursuit of her!
During the war, Kleist had kept a low profile and exercised restraint. Survival came first, after all.
But once the Radbow crisis was over, he boldly confessed his feelings to Sia.
Unsurprisingly, she turned him down coldly.
But as a knight who wielded geo-attribute battle qi, Kleist was thick-skinned. He refused to back down and only doubled down on his pursuit.
In truth, he also wielded pyro-attribute battle qi, though his geo-attribute power was clearly his dominant one.
Nevertheless, his mastery of both elemental laws spoke volumes about his strength and innate talent.
In fact, Kleist easily ranked among the top three within his knightly order!
Despite the Order of the Cyclonic Plume being far from Ashenreach, Kleist had traveled all the way to the Divine Tower of Ashes to chase after Sia.
His family’s influence surpassed even that of House Ernst, and Kleist had children from two marriages—one before he advanced to Rank One, and another during his Rank Two years.
His first wife had passed away from old age. The lifespan of a lesser being was indeed short.
His second wife perished in an interplanar war, while Kleist himself barely survived with grave wounds.
Kleist felt he had much in common with Sia. During the war, her personality had drawn him in, reminding him of his late second wife.
To back down after one rejection was not in Kleist’s nature.
Determined to show his sincerity, he appeared once again before Sia, holding a massive bouquet of fiery red Dragon Blood Coral this time.
From a distance, the Dragon Blood Coral was nearly the size of a tiny hill, emitting waves of concentrated flame energy that rippled through the air.
For pyromancers and knights who wielded pyro-attribute battle qi at the demigod level or higher, it was an irresistible treasure—an exceptionally rare material infused with the essence of laws.
When Kleist strode into the Divine Tower of Ashes, carrying the massive coral in his arms, countless mages and passersby stopped in astonishment, fixing their gazes on the magnificent gift.
Sia’s face darkened instantly.
“What do you think you’re doing?” she demanded.

Inside the laboratory, Sein and Yuri were curiously studying a clear purple crystal.
Since the year before last, Sein’s focus and mana levels had undergone a fundamental transformation.
Over a decade of meditation and tireless experimentation had finally paid off. He was now just one step away from the peak of Rank Four.
This was a height he had reached entirely through his own effort, without any external help.
Normally, he should have continued refining his understanding of the laws to stabilize his next breakthrough. But last year, a report from Yuri forced him to pause his training.
The Magic Cube had begun showing signs of change.
Over the years, Sein had conducted extensive research on this world-class secret treasure. He had inscribed elemental arrays and even managed to dismantle a third of its structure.
This in-depth study of the cube was part of Sein’s daily experimental work, with other various projects advancing in parallel.
The anomaly this time completely caught him off guard.
After cross-checking his experiment logs, he concluded that the purple crystal forming on the cube was the product of fused energy and law essence.
The crystal had gradually grown larger over the years, now almost the size of a thumb.
Interestingly, when he increased the cube’s elemental energy input, its growth rate accelerated dramatically.
“What do you make of it?” Sein asked, glancing at Yuri.
Having worked at his side for so many years, Yuri was no novice. Still, she could only shake her head, unable to offer an answer.
Behind her, the Burning Flame Unit’s yellow eyes flickered as she spoke. “Master, I wish to devour and absorb it.”
The unit, now self-aware thanks to modifications made through the Magic Cube, had become a living being in her own right.
At that, Sein raised an eyebrow but did not immediately agree.
Instead, he studied the crystal in silence for a long moment. After reviewing its properties and the data he had collected, he said, “Log this down. We’ll be calling it Energy Amethyst from now on.”
“Set up a separate lab for the Energy Amethyst and add it to our research schedule,” he instructed.
“Understood,” Yuri replied, jotting down the note.
Just as Sein turned back to observe the Energy Amethyst again, a faint ripple of disturbance emanated from outside the divine tower, making his brow furrow.
“What’s going on out there?” he muttered, glancing toward the window.
