Chapter 1513: Encirclement

The half-beastman legion led by Eugene was easily the most distinctive group among all Beastmen World’s forces on the Netherworld battlefield.

Half-beastmen had long been the targets of discrimination within Beastmen World.

Because of their mixed bloodlines, most half-beastmen were weaker than the mainstream races and had a much lower success rate in awakening as shaman priests.

Many were also born with congenital conditions, leading to a high infant mortality rate.

Yet here, on the Netherworld battlefield, the half-beastmen legion displayed a spirit and strength hardly inferior to any other beastmen legions!

Eugene led the charge, and right behind him were mostly his biological sons or adopted sons, forming the vanguard of their legion.

Since the earliest days of the half-beastmen’s rise thousands of years ago, Eugene and his children had always fought in the fiercest part of the fray.

That relentless fighting left Eugene covered in scars, and his bloodline suffered heavy losses over the years.

While he had lost many of his own children, the number of his adopted sons and daughters continued to grow. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Some were half-beastman orphans; others were gifted and promising young half-beastmen Eugene had discovered and taken under his wing.

A race could not rise on the strength of a single man. Eugene had to nurture new potential, and this Clash of Civilizations was an opportunity.

If Eugene could seize it, the half-beastmen might one day see more gods rise among them, and maybe even build a pantheon of their own.

Kampas also noticed Eugene, burning with battle fervor, and the half-beastman legions behind him.

His gaze lingered on them briefly before shifting to another beastman god not far from Eugene.

Reksha had grown stronger since the Bouldrak World War, and so had Ursa. The giant bear was even larger now, crouched at his master’s side and radiating the same Rank Five aura.

Kampas watched them for only a moment before his crimson warblade reappeared in his hand.

Casting aside his earlier grumbling and frustration, the God of Beastmen let out a long howl before charging straight toward the seemingly endless federal fleets approaching them!

Defensive warfare was never the forte of Kampas or the beastmen legions.

Offense was where their true strength lay.

It was likely for this very reason that, amidst their relentless charges, Kampas had unknowingly pushed deep into the federal fleet formations.

“If you charge off like that again, I won’t be coming to your rescue,” Commander Blood River Naeverynk warned coldly. “Our main goal is to defend Netherworld and hold off the Gallant Federation’s counterattack.”

The man who had been burning with fervor just moments ago was now the calmest of all.

A crimson glow of law burst from the hilt of Kampas’ warblade, spreading out to envelop his entire body.

Whether the beastmen overlord heard the warning or not was unclear.

Regardless, he became a pillar of blood-red light and shot straight toward the very heart of the Gallant Federation’s fleet.

As the Netherworld forces smashed into the vanguard of the federation’s remaining main force, fierce battles erupted along the edges of the vast battlefield.

This time, however, it was the federal fleet that found itself encircled.

Aeluna, newly ascended to Rank Eight, and her elven legion stood as one of the main forces on this front.[1]

The Magus Civilization placed immense importance on the Netherworld Star Domain battlefield, for its outcome would shape the early course of the war between the Magus Civilization and the Gallant Federation.

For this battle alone, two Rank Eight alliance overlords had been deployed to this star domain.

Aside from them, there were other Rank Seven alliance overlords, Magus World’s soul overmages, knight overlords, and more.

The two Rank Eight alliance overlords were Odin, the Divine King of Titans, and Aeluna, the God of Elves.

Though Aeluna’s strength fell far short of Odin’s, she enjoyed immense prestige within the Magus Alliance.

The Grand Elven World was also renowned as one of the wealthiest planes in the entire alliance.

In terms of wealth, it stood in stark contrast to Beastmen World.

At this moment, Aeluna directed the overall strategy from deep within the rear of the vast elven legion.

She commanded hundreds of elven gods, driving the elven troops forward as they surged ahead, relentlessly hammering the federation’s frontline.

The Khimaira legion—the Grand Elven World’s most elite force—had been reassigned by Hela of Titan World to another front in the Netherworld Star Domain battlefield, leaving Aeluna with only the slow-moving Hill Giants at her disposal.

But on their own, they struggled to break through the federation’s metal frontline, even if that line already looked fragile.

Assault warfare had never been the elves’ specialty; tasks like this were usually handed off to Beastmen World instead.

This also reflected how deeply Aeluna, the God of Elves, cared for her people.

If she ordered the elves to launch a desperate, full-force assault on the Gallant Federation’s line, the results would likely be spectacular—at least in the short term.

But this time, Aeluna chose not to. This sector was not hers alone, and there were others better suited for the job.

“My Khimaira legion has been redeployed. Can you secure the frontline quickly and hold it after I tear through the federation’s defenses?” Aeluna asked the Rank Seven Undead Monarch, gesturing toward the raging battlefield where elemental power and energy beams clashed in blinding bursts.

This sector of the battlefield was jointly overseen by the Grand Elven World and Undead World.

Beautiful, life-loving elves... fighting alongside decaying, grotesque undead creatures...

Only under the vast command of the Magus Civilization could something like this happen.

The Undead Monarch, wearing a tricolor crown, paused briefly after hearing Aeluna’s question before replying, “My legion of skeletal dragons should be able to fulfill that task.”

Undead creatures were beings of few words, and this Rank Seven undead overlord was no exception.

Yet within the Magus Alliance, no one dared underestimate him.

This was not only because he was an overlord who ruled Undead World, but also because he was the contract summon of a powerful Soul Overmage from the Magus World.

Even Aeluna, a Rank Eight goddess, dared not offend such an existence without reason. So when addressing the Undead Monarch, she spoke with courtesy instead of authority.

The skeletal dragon legion was undoubtedly the mightiest force among Undead World’s countless undead armies.

Despite being descendants of the Astral Realm’s dragonkind, these skeletal dragons had no scales, blood, or flesh. Even so, they did not sully the reputation of dragons.

The moment the Undead Monarch lifted his bony finger, millions of ferocious skeletal dragons surged forward in waves.

They burst out of the gray, deathly mist and charged straight toward the Gallant Federation’s frontline!

1. Recap: Aeluna has only been briefly mentioned before in Chapter 1146 and 1304. ☜
