Chapter 1532: Subdue

The Magus Civilization’s garrison on Planet Zax coordinated a timely attack.

As Sein and the Klytheran Legion tore into the enemy forces on the planet, the Magus Civilization’s knights and mages stationed at the two main bases also launched a counterattack almost instantly.

Caught between the two, the Gallant Federation troops and the Sanok forces on Zax were thrown into complete chaos.

They had no idea how many reinforcements the Magus Civilization had sent, but the sudden appearance of those intimidating Rank Four and Five beings was frightening enough!

“We’re holding the advantage on several nearby planetary battlefields. Hold your positions! I’m requesting reinforcements from neighboring sectors now!” a federal lieutenant general barked from inside his capital ship, addressing every captain under his command.

Although the Gallant Federation had plenty of low-ranking troops on Zax, their high-tier combat strength was sorely lacking.

Meanwhile, after eleven brutal years of siege, the Magus Civilization garrison on this planet was down to just two remaining law-wielding combatants.

The federation had deployed more than ten million troops to the Sanok Star Domain, but once those forces were divided across multiple fronts, they were spread dangerously thin.

And truthfully, the Gallant Federation had no interest in getting dragged into another direct clash with the Magus Civilization in the Sanok Star Domain.

Due to various strategic considerations and future war deployments, the federation had gradually pulled out much of its strength from Zax. In the end, they left behind only three high-ranking combatants to hold this low-level plane.

Their sole advantage over Gargawell and Azaria, the two Magus Civilization powerhouses still defending this planet, lay in their fleets’ abundant energy reserves and relentless firepower.

But no matter how many high-ranking warships the federation fielded, could they really stand up against the sheer mass and momentum of the newly arrived Klytheran troops flooding the battlefield?

On top of that, the Klytherans had been eager to avenge their fallen kin.

From their high-ranking powerhouses to their low-ranking fighters, every Klytheran had been preparing for this very moment.

Even if the Gallant Federation managed to call in reinforcements from the two nearby planets, Sein and the Klytherans would still be able to take them head-on!

“General, those alien troops that suddenly appeared... they look like Planet Klythera lifeforms. The ones that were supposedly extinct. Should we adjust our strategy?” an officer in the capital ship asked.

The man was surprisingly well-informed enough to recognize the species.

“What did you say?!” the lieutenant general thundered.

“L-Look over there...” The officer’s voice shook as he pointed at the holographic display.

On the screen, three Rank Five Klytheran fighters were tearing through the battlefield with brutal force. Other panels showed Rank Four Klytherans engaged in combat as well.

The general could already tell that their fleet did not have the firepower to withstand opponents like these. It was also too late to call for reinforcements from neighboring planetary battlefields at this point.

BOOM!

A violent explosion rocked the eastern side of the capital ship, followed by the crushing shockwave of a Rank Five’s power!

But this time, it did not come from the Klytherans. It was a familiar elemental surge of a Rank Five Magus World mage.

“Looks like those supposedly extinct Klytherans have joined forces with the Magus Civilization. We’re doomed. Even if we order a retreat now, there’s almost no way we can escape this planet,” the officer muttered under his breath.

The lieutenant general, far more seasoned than the trembling officer beside him, had already reached the same conclusion the moment these Klytherans appeared.

If they ran now, they would only get hunted down. They might as well stand their ground and fight.

On the holographic display, a young Rank Five Klytheran fighter was charging straight toward their capital ship. His blue combat suit and crimson cloak stood out vividly against Zax’s dark sky.

The lieutenant general let out a long, resigned sigh.

Eastern battlefield of Planet Zax...

Still in his Ashen Demon form, Sein trapped the Rank Four Sanok inside an elemental cage.

This was the last remaining native Rank Four lifeform on this planet.

Years of accumulated injuries, compounded by a planar will too feeble to support him any longer, had left him in a pitiful state.

Even Yuri could have subdued him alone, let alone a Rank Five like Sein.

But Sein planned on capturing him alive!

He had never seen a Sanokian up close before.

The black-skinned humanoid would no doubt make it a valuable addition to his growing specimen collection.

During the fight, Sein did not bother making it a fair, one-on-one battle. He had Yuri and Kram with him.

It was exactly because of this weakened state that the creature fell so quickly when confronted by Sein and his group.

At this point, he could barely put up any resistance.

Under normal circumstances, capturing a Rank Four alive would have been quite a challenge, even for a Rank Five like Sein.

Rank Four beings were no pushovers. If they knew they could not win, they could usually gamble on escape, or blow themselves up, rather than end up like a trapped monkey inside Sein’s steadily shrinking elemental cage.

The scorching, mind-corroding gray flames licking at the Rank Four Sanok drew agonized howls from him.

Black smoke seeped from his skin, nostrils, and mouth. Apparently, this was a trait unique to the Sanokians.

As Sein reinforced the elemental cage, two powerful figures arrived, both radiating intense battle qi and magic power.

They were the mage and knight stationed on Zax.

Sein barely spared the Rank Five knight a glance, but the Rank Four mage caught his interest.

From the aura and attire alone, Sein could tell that he was a Magus.

Gargawell and Azaria, having just reached the battlefield, stared in disbelief at the already-subdued Rank Four Sanok trapped in Sein’s elemental cage.

The battle was over far too quickly; neither of them had even managed to intervene.

Aside from Sein’s own overwhelming elemental pressure, the two Rank Four fighters assisting him also drew their attention.

One of them was Yuri, who was continuously firing tranquilizer rounds at the imprisoned Sanok.

These tranquilizer rounds were disposable magic artifacts Sein had crafted in his spare time over the years.

Made with components harvested from law-wielding creatures, they packed far more punch than their simple appearance suggested.

The other assisting Sein was, of course, Kram.

Faint shockwaves rippled off her as she fired crimson beams from her hands. Their energy weaved together and solidified into bindings that clamped down on the Sanok’s limbs.

Compared to the Rank Five Klytheran who preferred smashing into the Gallant Federation’s warships with their steel-like bodies, Kram’s combat style had grown noticeably more refined in recent years.
