Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1555: The Flower King’s Stance
The moment Sein finished speaking, the expressions of most Rank Five beings from Hundred Flowers World shifted at once.
It was exceedingly rare for plant creatures to leave their homeplane, so Sein’s request for the Snowball Flower King to travel beyond the plane to sign a contract was extremely unreasonable.
It was essentially asking the Flower King to hand over both autonomy and personal safety to the Magus Civilization.
Yet how could these Hundred Flowers Worlds’ natives refuse?
Half a year of negotiations had already confirmed their decision to join the Magus Alliance.
The formal signing of the contract was the final procedure they needed to complete.
If the Snowball Flower King refused now, how would the Magus Civilization interpret it?
And what position would that leave the Rank Four and Rank Five beings who had already agreed to join?
The Snowball Flower King’s true form was a breathtakingly beautiful flower with petals the color of white jade.
Plant creatures rarely display distinct genders in their early stages of life.
But at higher life levels, personality and appearance gradually shape them toward a more clearly male or female presentation.
The Snowball Flower King was a Rank Six male flower.
As the sovereign of all blooms in the Hundred Flowers Worlds, every floral and plant creature acknowledged his supremacy.
Although the Hundred Flowers Worlds had no imperial system or unified civilization-level regime, the Snowball Flower King’s word held the highest authority across the entire star domain.
Not long ago, it was he who announced to the Rank Four and Rank Five beings that they would join the Magus Alliance, with Sein and the others as witnesses.
The Snowball Flower King’s jade-white petals quivered lightly in the breeze. After a brief silence, he accepted Sein’s impertinent request.
“Since we have already decided to join the Magus Alliance, I have no issue traveling beyond my homeplane to sign the law contract in my true form. Besides, we cannot have Master Feylis of the Magus Civilization make yet another trip to the Hundred Flowers Worlds,” the Snowball Flower King said.
“Your magnanimity assures me that the Hundred Flowers Worlds will flourish even more under the Magus Alliance’s collective development, Flower King,” Sein praised.
“It’s my responsibility,” the Snowball Flower King replied. “And I’m grateful to Master Lorianne for recently bestowing the Verdant Elixir upon my White Jade Flower Sea. It has greatly nurtured the growth of our new generation of blossoms.”
“Helping allied worlds develop is the very purpose for which our Magus Civilization established the Magus Alliance,” Lorianne replied with a smile.
“Beyond the Verdant Elixir, I have other suggestions that would benefit the development of your Hundred Flowers Worlds. The Magus Alliance will also fulfill the resource support outlined in the contract,” she added.
The Snowball Flower King nodded and said, “Let us depart, then.”
As Sein piloted the space fortress away from Hundred Flowers World with the Snowball Flower King aboard, he gave his mentor a discreet thumbs-up.
He had never realized just how skilled she was in diplomacy until now.
“Hmph. Back in my day, I dealt with the Geo Elemental Lords of the large Amethyst World. Compared to that, a few floral beings from a remote world are nothing,” Lorianne replied smugly.
“You would do well to learn from this. Don’t go assuming that surpassing me in life level means you will surpass me in everything,” she added.
Lorianne had indeed played a pivotal role in this diplomatic mission. Her demeanor and approach helped ease tensions between the native lifeforms and the powerful Magus Civilization representatives like Sein.
The fact that they managed to establish such a solid relationship with the Hundred Flowers Worlds in only half a year was owed largely to her efforts.
“Of course. I still have much to learn from you, Master Lorianne,” Sein replied with a smile.
After escorting the Snowball Flower King out of Hundred Flowers World, Sein and his group returned to the outskirts of this star domain.
Inside the Verdant Flame Fortress, they met Feylis.
The Snowball Flower King carried himself with impeccable composure. When meeting Feylis, he manifested a humanoid form tailored to the aesthetic preferences of Magus World humans—a handsome young man dressed in an outfit woven from white petals.
In addition to signing the Magus Alliance treaty on behalf of the Hundred Flowers Worlds, the Snowball Flower King also offered Feylis two of his petals as a gift.
As a Rank Six plant being, he understood exactly which parts of himself held the greatest value.
These petals were the equivalent of limbs for an ordinary flesh-and-blood humanoid.
For someone like Sein, it would be no different from cutting off a hand and presenting it as a greeting gift.
From the perspective of the Snowball Flower King and the Hundred Flowers Worlds, such an act was undeniably humiliating and degrading. Yet, they had no choice but to do it.
Today, the Snowball Flower King sacrificed only two of his petals.
But if he ever angered the Magus Civilization, both he and the entire Hundred Flowers Worlds would pay a far heavier price.
All life would suffer. Billions of creatures would perish.
The once vibrant and breathtaking Hundred Flowers Worlds would be reduced to a barren wasteland.
The Magus Civilization would not even need any reinforcements. The vast combat legions stationed right at their border would be more than enough to teach this medium-sized world civilization a lesson.
And above all, the Rank Six mage’s aura and the Verdant Flame she wielded had exerted immense pressure on the Snowball Flower King from the moment they met. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Even though Feylis maintained a warm smile throughout their conversation, this sensitive Rank Six flower could clearly sense the oppressive, searing pyro elemental energy in the surrounding space.
The Snowball Flower King knew he was not Feylis’ match in a solo fight. Even if he manifested another clone or advanced to the next stage of his life level, he still believed he could not defeat her.
The elemental disadvantage, the overwhelming difference in power, and the unstoppable momentum of surrounding civilizations all forced the Snowball Flower King to make the “right” choice.
“The Hundred Flowers Worlds joining the Magus Alliance is a positive development, especially when our Magus Civilization is preparing for potential large-scale conflict with the Gallant Federation and its vassals in the surrounding star domains.
“To prevent the Hundred Flowers Worlds from suffering invasion or devastation, our Magus Civilization will establish long-range cross-star domain teleportation arrays here. These will ensure the safety of our alliance members at all times.
“In addition, four space fortresses and a contingent of our Magus Civilization’s expeditionary forces will be stationed here permanently,” Feylis said with a smile.
“Snowball Flower King, should you require anything in the future, you may directly inform our Magus Civilization,” she added as she carefully put away the two jade-white Rank Six petals.
Materials of this caliber were precious even to her, and her gaze toward the Snowball Flower King grew slightly more fervent.
Though unsettled by Feylis’s intense stare, the Snowball Flower King managed to steady himself and replied with forced composure, “Then I offer my deepest gratitude for Master Feylis and the Magus Civilization’s kindness.”
