Special Forces Medic-Chapter 819 - 792: You’re Not Human
"Listen, shouldn't you also change your suspicious nature a bit?" The leader of the packing team laughed heartily. "If you're really uneasy, just follow them on a trip."
"That's a good idea." Shuang Shuang's response made the other person roll their eyes.
"There are a total of two hundred boxes of green bricks." The person who finished loading the cargo came over with the delivery note and asked Shuang Shuang to sign it.
"Do you know where the goods need to be delivered?" She scribbled a few strokes on the note and handed it back to the worker accompanying the truck.
"We don't handle deliveries; we take them back to the company for specialized transportation."
"Why is there an extra step now?"
"No, it's always been like this, the goods are directly taken back to the company." The worker loading the cargo looked at Shuang Shuang with surprise. Has it changed now? How could he not know?
"Oh, I must have remembered wrong, sorry, drive safely on the road."
"Thank you!" The truck slowly drove out of the gate, and a dangerous gleam flashed in Shuang Shuang's pupils.
She walked into the dim little room where a person was hung on the wall, showing obvious signs of having been subjected to rough treatment, looking miserable. As the door opened, the faint light seeped in, causing the person suspended on the wall to react slightly, moving his head toward the light.
"Awake?" She asked in a cold and eerie tone, pulling up a chair to sit in front of him. "Apparently, your companions just left, and took away a large load of green bricks. Do you think I should go retrieve them?"
"Just bricks." Wang Xi rotated his neck; even a fool would know that there was something in the bricks in a brick kiln with an interrogation room, either drugs or something else.
"Ha! If they were truly just bricks, why did you go through so much effort to get in?" Shuang Shuang propped her leg on the table. "Do you know why I let them take that batch of green bricks?"
"Sigh, you're really annoying when you speak; I've said many times, I don't know what you do here, it's just a lousy brick kiln."
"You're quite boring; even at this point, you refuse to confess. The hero complex of you police really makes people sick." Shuang Shuang kicked the table, causing a loud sound. "You'll soon find out the result." She turned and walked out, locking the door tightly, as Wang Xi let out a breath.
The truck swayed as it drove from the factory gate, and the driver took off his hat, exhaling. "Do you think that guy isn't suspicious of us?"
"He should be." The person beside the driver answered weakly.
"I think so too." The driver wasn't anyone else but Shi Shuai from the North District Police Station. "That guy is definitely up to something; did you see the boss just now?" The person sitting beside him shook his head.
"Wang Xi didn't see him either."
"Let's drive the truck back first."
In the distance, police sirens blared as several police cars roared over from ahead, surrounding them completely. "What's going on?" Li Wei turned his head to ask Shi Shuai.
"Who knows." He stopped the truck as a uniformed officer walked over and saluted them.
"Hello, please show your driver's license."
"We don't seem to have violated traffic laws, right?" Despite saying this, Shi Shuai still took out his driver's license and handed it over.
"Routine check." The officer glanced at the documents. "One of our own?"
"Yes!"
"It still needs to be checked." The aggressive response made Shi Shuai's forehead twitch.
"We're on official duty right now."
"Oh, really?" The officer mockingly retorted, as several officers already climbed onto the truck, starting to inspect the cargo behind.
"I say, fellow officer, isn't this routine check a bit excessive?" Shi Shuai suspiciously eyed whether this person was doing it on purpose.
"Is this truck from that brick kiln ahead?" The officer recorded in the notebook.
"That's right, is there a problem?"
"Someone reported that your truck contains illegal items."
"Oh, that's precisely the goods we were taking back for inspection; that place..."
"Report, found a package of bullets and some guns."
"Could you please come with us?" Hearing the subordinate's report, the officer politely asked Shi Shuai and the others to step out of the truck.
"We..."
"Whatever you have to say, tell it at the station!" The officer didn't listen to Shi Shuai's argument, picking up the radio to report to the other party. "Yes, we've captured them, and found a large amount of stolen goods."
"Detain both people and cargo together." After a brief order, the officer had already handcuffed Shi Shuai and Li Wei.
"Brother, I told you we're working on a case."
Nobody paid attention to Shi Shuai shouting, and Li Wei quietly followed behind as they were respectively escorted into police cars, leaving one by one, while the truck stopped by the roadside was also driven away by police cars following those in front.
Amid the stirring dust, a figure emerged, sending a cold smile at the people being taken away. He turned, disappearing into the trees.
After finishing the phone call, Shuang Shuang was in an especially good mood, slightly curling his lips, and walking into the small room with his hands behind his back.
"You seem quite free today." Hearing the sound, Wang Xi lifted his head, the soreness of his hands hanging making him numb and senseless.
"Honestly, I quite like your personality, but it's a pity that you'll die here sooner or later. However, for my liking of you, I'll give you a very good way to die; no pain, just a whoosh and no more breath."
"I don't like you at all; if you're really so kind, just let me go. I'm not interested in your brick kiln at all."
"Hehe, I said I would come back to give you a result; your colleagues have been taken back to the police station now." Thinking of the scene where police arrested police, Shuang Shuang suddenly burst into laughter.
"What did you do to them?" Wang Xi rattled the chains loudly.
"It's said you're a son of a wealthy family, with a bit of fame in Yanjing. I'm considering getting some money from your family before I kill you; old man is quite poor lately."
"I warn you not to do anything rash." Wang Xi dropped his playful manner, glaring fiercely at Shuang Shuang.
"Oh, so you can glare too!" Shuang Shuang gleefully pinched Wang Xi's chin. "What exactly is your purpose in sneaking in? As long as your accomplice doesn't show up, I won't let you have peace one day; today, I'll cut off one of your ears and send it to your family, tomorrow I'll chop off one of your hands and send it to your station, I refuse to believe I can't force that person out."
"Damn it, you're no human!" Wang Xi roared furiously.
Facing Wang Xi's shouting, Shuang Shuang still chuckled cheerfully at him. "You can try not believing it, and as for those colleagues of yours, no telling when they'll come out once they're in there." (To be continued.
