Splitting the Heavens-Chapter 1798: Spirit Tip World’s Split Pt.5
Chapter 1798: Spirit Tip World’s Split Pt.5
When the fleet from the Essence Luxuriant World sailed out from the depths of the void, Yan Yu did indeed feel a fleeting moment of worry.
However, he was no longer as ignorant as he had been. After clashing multiple times with Shang Xia and successfully incorporating the Spirit Tip World into the Essence Du Heavenly Field, he had gained a fair understanding of Shang Xia’s background.
Moreover, several high-level experts from the Spirit Tip World had once entered the Heaven Observation Field through spatial rifts before the Star Curtain collapsed, at the invitation of Shang Xia, and had gained further insight into the Essence Luxuriant World’s overall strength.
Yan Yu knew that the Essence Luxuriant World was still merely a newly ascended Essence world. Apart from rare outliers like Shang Xia, they had few True Immortals and even fewer who had reached the high-level of the Martial Void Realm.
Even with the momentum from its world ascension, possibly pushing a few more to become high-level True Immortals, that force was still no match for the centuries-old accumulation of strength within the Essence Du World and the Spirit Tip World.
Not only was Yan Yu confident that he and a dozen high-level True Immortals from their Heavenly Field could hold Shang Xia at bay with ease, even if Shang Xia somehow tied them all down single handedly, the fleet from the Essence Luxuriant World still stood no chance against either world.
After all, both worlds had high-level Elysium True Immortals. The number of cultivators who could join the battle who hadn’t reached the Martial Void Realm was even higher. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"Heh, Sage Shang, do you really think those people can break the stalemate? Unless your Essence Luxuriant World has a second Sage, you can’t do a thing to me!”[1]
Yan Yu was convinced Shang Xia was bluffing.
Perhaps their fleet left when the Spirit Tip World hadn’t been incorporated into their Heavenly Field. Shang Xia might have hoped to wrest it away.
Since he took it first and the situation had changed dramatically, Shang Xia and his fleet were bound to retreat empty-handed.
Still, despite feeling victorious, Yan Yu did not lower his guard. He still met Shang Xia’s attacks head-on and sent the rest of the high-level True Immortals holding their battle formation against Shang Xia away just in case.
As they were about to leave, Shang Xia erupted with all his might.
The Origin Star Robe he wore was so saturated with starlight that it shimmered like a cloak made from actual stars.
The inner qi from the Big Dipper Star Origin within his dantian started to cycle, with each pass drawing from the stored world origin within the Crimson Soul Tablet and refining it into fresh inner qi to recover from the extended battle.
His strength surged past the peak of the third star and didn’t stop there. It actually reached the level of a mid-level Sage.
Yan Yu was instantly suppressed and he was nearly struck down by a streak of starlight launched from Shang Xia’s fingertip.
The high-level True Immortals who were prepared to retreat quickly rushed back to restore their battle formation to aid Yan Yu, leaving the advancing Essence Luxuriant World fleet unopposed.
Even so, they didn’t panic.
News had already been relayed back to both worlds, and their elites were readying to counter the invasion.
Several mid-scale and small-scale starships emerged from beneath the heavenly screens of both worlds, maneuvering to flank the fleet rather than engaging it directly.
The only part where the Essence Luxuriant World had an advantage was probably only the large-scale Star Ship and Spirit Ark. Whatever it was, they showed no signs of slowing. They rushed into the Essence Du Heavenly Field and ignored the approaching ships.
The next second, something unexpected happened.
Several mid-sized Star Ships from the Essence Du World abruptly withdrew from formation. Their retreat disrupted the orderly battle line and even prompted other ships to follow suit. Soon after, they reassembled, but their formation subtly threatened several of the Spirit Tip World’s ships, forming a tense standoff.
The sudden internal conflict left not just the Essence Luxuriant World’s fleet stunned but also many from the Essence Du World and Spirit Tip World bewildered. It was especially so for the cultivators of the Spirit Tip World, who scrambled to communicate and understand what had happened.
Before any explanation could emerge, a dramatic shift unfolded on the outer battlefield.
The coordinated battle formation of high-level True Immortals in aiding Yan Yu faltered. A small disruption in the energy of the Heavenly Field’s energy supporting them triggered a sudden drop in their collective strength, causing 2 fourth tier True Immortals to miss a key movement in their battle formation.
Shang Xia, having anticipated the exact moment, acted without hesitation. He struck Yan Yu back with his Seven Star Mace and flicked a spark of Star Fire directly at the now-exposed flaw in the formation. It landed on a fourth tier True Immortal and destroyed everything it touched.
No matter how hard he tried to resist, he was still a True Immortal. He was helpless against a fourth star Sage alone. In the blink of an eye, he was turned to ash, cutting his agonized screams short. His ashes drifted into the void amid a burst of energy.
Yan Yu counterattacked furiously, channeling even more Heavenly Field energy into himself. The remaining experts, unshaken by the loss, quickly restructured the battle formation to resist Shang Xia again.
Everyone realized something major had happened in the Essence Du World, disrupting the World’s Will. That was why the Heavenly Field’s support was weakened, causing such a huge drop in their strength. Too bad they were locked in a standoff with Shang Xia at the moment and no one could go back to investigate.
Still, the cultivators in the formation understood, and Yan Yu likely knew what had happened and wasn’t saying anything.
It wasn’t as though he had time to explain under Shang Xia’s relentless strikes. Perhaps... He had no desire to explain either.
