With that, the two sides began hurling insults at each other. Seeing the situation escalate, Dongle quickly called for more security guards.
Yasmin was doing her best to mediate, but Dongle’s eyes darted around, and he quickly suggested, "Ms. Yasmin, let’s take the phones to the security office and wait there. If this keeps going, it could turn into a full-blown conflict."
"Bullshit! If we touch them, our fingerprints will be on them. Do you think I’m stupid?"
Yasmin stood firmly in front of Ryan’s bed, declaring, "No one touches these phones until the police arrive."
Seeing the commotion, the two groups of students glared at each other, all of them impressed by Yasmin’s intelligence and calmness.
Ryan was equally surprised. He hadn’t expected the usually gentle Yasmin to be so fiercely protective of him and to think so thoroughly.
"Alright, once the police arrive, the truth will come out. Let’s all listen to Ms. Yasmin and stop arguing."
"Yeah, just because Ryan’s broke doesn’t mean he’s a thief."
"Besides, they came straight to this dorm without checking any others. Are they psychic or something?"
"Ms. Yasmin’s suspicions are valid. They should’ve searched every dorm. How can they be so sure it’s Ryan?"
In the past, the way students looked at Yasmin was often lecherous, with their eyes inevitably drawn to her chest.
But today, the usually gentle teacher was fiercely defending her student, not considering the school’s reputation but standing up for fairness. This undoubtedly won her their admiration.
Who wouldn’t love a teacher who protects her students like this?
Weston and Jacob stepped into the dorm and stood in front of the bed with Yasmin, guarding the phones. Weston even shouted, "Everyone here can testify that no one has touched these phones."
"Once the fingerprints are checked, everything will be clear."
Hearing this, Dongle panicked and lunged forward to grab the phones, cursing, "You’re all lunatics! Do you know how much trouble this will cause?"
With a thud, Ryan kicked Dongle square in the stomach. His body, enhanced by three attribute points, was no joke.
The kick sent Dongle flying onto Jacob’s bed, clutching his stomach in pain, unable to even cry out.
The other two security guards hesitated, but Ryan was already holding the vernier caliper, glaring at them. "Before the police arrive, if any of you dare move, I’ll show you what it means to be young and reckless."
"Exactly! Trying to grab the phones? Definitely suspicious!"

"No doubt about it. Ms. Yasmin was right. I knew something was off with how quickly they ’solved’ the case. What, are they psychic or something?"
By now, the students outside were also riled up, grabbing brooms and mops, raising them high and shouting.
"That’s right! Who does the security captain think he is, acting all high and mighty? Screw him!"
"Students, if they dare try anything, don’t let them off easy…"
The police arrived quickly. Since there was a police station in the university district, their response was swift. Normally, the area was peaceful, with only the occasional student fight over romantic rivalries, so the police were relatively idle.
When they arrived and saw the densely packed crowd in the male dormitory hallway, with students from nearby dorms also gathering to watch, many of them armed with makeshift weapons, the officers were startled.
"Students, move aside, move aside. We’re here on official business. Please disperse."
A large gathering of students, especially in a male dormitory, could easily escalate into a mass incident, and no one wanted to be held responsible.
School officials also arrived and quickly began dispersing the students before entering Ryan’s dorm.
As they passed, the male students couldn’t help but swallow hard. Leading the group was a tall, stunningly beautiful female officer. What stood out most was her figure, accentuated by her tactical police uniform.
Though not revealing in the slightest, the uniform perfectly outlined her graceful curves, leaving plenty to the imagination.
Her face was a perfect oval, with delicate features and star-like eyes. There was a certain heroic charm to her expression, exuding an undeniable allure in her uniform.
She appeared to be in her early thirties, mature and beautiful, yet with an air of authority.
"Ding… Binding target: Nancy: Favorability -10."
The system’s prompt echoed in Ryan’s mind, leaving him momentarily stunned. Why was there suddenly a negative favorability binding?
Turning to look at the person who had entered, Ryan’s entire body froze. It was the woman from his first time—the drunken beauty from the hotel that night.
Even though she was now dressed in a police uniform, looking like a completely different person, Ryan recognized her instantly.
School officials began explaining the situation, and Nancy, the lead officer, frowned as she asked, "You only searched this one dorm? None of the others?"
Dongle, who had been helped to his feet, nodded awkwardly.
The school official asked, "Do you have any leads, or did you see Ryan stealing the phones on camera?"
"Well, we… we just heard about it," Dongle stammered. "The library’s surveillance cameras have been under maintenance since this afternoon, so we couldn’t check…"
"Then what makes you so sure it was him?" Yasmin demanded sharply.
"The stolen items were found on his bed. That’s clear evidence," Dongle insisted stubbornly.
Ryan sneered, "That’s a load of bullshit. I wasn’t even on campus all day. I just got back. Do I have a clone or something?"
Nancy finally turned to look at him, and for a moment, she was stunned.
She recognized that face instantly—it was one she’d never forget, even if it turned to ash. It had become more handsome, but she still recognized it at a glance.
The anger in her eyes and on her face was barely contained.
At this moment, Yasmin spoke up again, "Officer Nancy, I hope you investigate this thoroughly. My student is absolutely innocent."
Suppressing her rage, Nancy forced a cold, amused smile and said meaningfully, "If he’s innocent, of course, I’ll investigate this properly."
