SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 134: You fucking corward!
Chapter 134: You fucking corward!
Damon shifted into a blur of shadows. The ice chains shattered like glass under the force of his movement, shards spraying across the cavern. He reappeared just behind the yeti king’s massive head.
His crimson fire lance ignited like a miniature sun. With a devastating thrust, he plunged the burning weapon into the back of the beast’s neck, the impact sending a shockwave through the cavern. The yeti king let out a thunderous roar of agony as the fire seared through its thick hide, cracks forming in its icy armor.
Mark’s runes blazed, his fists glowing white-hot as he slammed them into the yeti king’s side. The impact caused a web of fractures to spread, chunks of ice flying as the monster’s armor began to crumble.
Kate’s staff glowed brighter, and with a determined expression, she sent a series of blood orbs converging on the beast’s chest, the crimson spheres hammering into it like a relentless storm.
The yeti king’s eyes widened with pain and rage. It roared, but the sound cut off abruptly as Damon twisted the fire lance deeper, carving through muscle and bone.
The colossal creature shuddered, its massive body trembling as the last of its health bar disappeared. It did not get another chance to attack and collapsed limply on the ground as Damon absorbed all of its blood essence.
[Ding! You have defeated the Frostbound Yeti King.]
[Ding! You have successfully extracted the Frostbound Yeti King bloodline.]
[Ding! You have gained the new skill: Frostbane Maelstrom (Active, C-Rank).]
[Ding! You have gained +5 Ice Elemental Affinity.]
[Ding! You have gained experience points.]
[Ding! You have leveled up!]
"Damn! I got two levels from that guy!" Kate grinned and walked over to pick up the drops. There was an armor and a club. The Yeti King’s weapon had dropped!
Mark let out a low whistle as he admired the massive club lying among the pile of loot. Its shaft was thick and ridged with jagged ice, and the head glowed faintly blue with frost energy that pulsed like a heartbeat. "That thing could flatten a fortress wall," he muttered, cracking his knuckles. "Nice haul."
Damon’s crimson eyes glowed as he approached the yeti king’s corpse. He examined the two items but then simply put them away. "This is not the good stuff. The good stuff is hiding here." He walked over to the treasure chest beside the wall.
The heavy wooden chest sat amid the wreckage of ice and blood, its iron bands crusted with frost. Damon’s boots crunched over scattered shards of frozen bones as he approached it, his eyes narrowing. Even the air around the chest seemed different. It was extra cold, which only confirmed his suspicion.
He crouched down in front of the chest, his fingers brushing over the lock. A faint click of hidden mechanisms sounded in the cavern air. With a deft twist, the lock clicked open. A soft glow spilled from the chest, illuminating Damon’s face in a chilling, freezing light.
Pearls. Small, deathly cold pearls.
The entire chest was full of the little pearls, each one radiating a cold so intense it burned his skin when he picked them up. Damon’s breath fogged in the icy air, his fangs glinting as he examined the treasure. "Frost Pearls," he muttered, his crimson eyes sharp.
"A rare alchemical ingredient. Could be used for crafting ice-resistant armor, cold-based weapons, or even for forging potions that can boost your ice element affinity."
Mark walked up behind him, looking over Damon’s shoulder. "You sure those are safe to pick up?" he asked, seeing that Damon’s skin cracked and dried on the spot where he held the pearl.
"They’re safe," Damon replied with a grin. "Just... extremely valuable." He dumped a handful of the pearls into his spatial ring, the chill nipping at his fingertips. "These’ll go for a fortune on the market. But we should be using this ourselves. These pearls are a pretty straightforward method to increase ice affinity, and there are not a lot of resources like this."
Mark nodded. He inched closer to pick up one of the pearls, but he then decided against it. It was simply too freaking cold.
"Hey! Over here! There is another treasure chest!" Kate called.
Damon placed all the pearls in his spatial ring and then walked over to the smaller chest. He quickly opened it, and there were a few more pearls inside. Same as before. He inspected one and was about to swipe it all into his spatial ring when a voice interrupted him.
"It’s best you step away from the treasure chest, you stinking bastard," Mendoza shouted across the cavern.
Damon’s smile vanished, replaced by a cold, dangerous glint in his crimson eyes.
Mendoza stood with a small group of survivors from Sylvara’s team, his face contorted with rage and jealousy. Behind him, a few of his teammates shifted nervously, their eyes flicking between Damon and the loot pile like hungry wolves. Mira and Aurora were also with the group, but every single one of them looked dead tired and haggard.
Their gears and armor were in shambles, and some of them had wounds lining their bodies. Clearly, Aurora had over-exerted herself so much so that she was completely out of mana to heal anyone else.
Damon straightened up, his expression calm and unimpressed. "Didn’t know you were still alive, Mendoza," he said coolly.
Mendoza’s face reddened with anger. "Don’t play dumb with me, you bastard. We all know what you have been up to all this time."
Huh? Damon looked at Sylvara, who also seemed to glare at him.
"What are you looking at her for? Even she won’t come to defend your bitch ass this time. You fucking corward."
Damon let out an annoyed sigh. "Can you first tell me what the hell happened and then continue with your stupid monologue?"
Mendoza bellowed in anger. "Bastard! You come here, run and hide like a little rat while leaving all of us out there to defend ourselves. Now, you dare to ask what happened! What? Did you take a good rest while we all fought and bled with our lives on the line?"
