SSS Evolution: Upgrading My Trash Grade Skeleton to Godhood-Chapter 53: Butchered
The next moment he got up and cleaned the cookware before heading out.
Ambrose also hurriedly followed closely behind. Who knew when Lukas might teach her.
On the way, Lukas made sure to buy a new pair of gloves. The last pair had gotten dirty and was unsalvageable.
The two attracted a number of eyeballs. The white gloves that Lukas wore, although hiding the stars, easily stood out—as very few awakeners hid their stars. After all, it was a matter of pride for them.
Just like him, although the cat mask covered Ambrose’s beautiful face, it too attracted unwanted attention.
Lukas ignored all the attention he was getting with a straight face, instead focusing on the discussions around him.
Hmm, for the second wave even the members of the Roaring Dragon Guild will be participating!
According to the intel received, the next wave is led by a legendary grade twin-headed lightning serpent...
Hell, forget about the monster. Roaring Dragon Guild has announced that anyone who accumulates a hundred kills can directly join the guild, no matter the talent.
Are you for real? This has to be a joke!
The other awakeners who heard this claim couldn’t believe it.
Still, it didn’t matter whether the claim was real or not. One thing was clear—Roaring Dragon Guild was very serious about it.
Making a note of the matter, Lukas moved out of the safety zone to the open battlefield.
Dozens of awakeners, mostly in groups of three or four, moved all over the place, hunting with all their might. It was difficult to spot anyone alone.
Looking around, Lukas spotted several awakeners dressed in Roaring Dragon Guild outfits. It appeared the rumors were true.
While he was looking, he even spotted his old acquaintance—Ryan, the old fatty from Perseus City. The fatty was surrounded by young awakeners with stars in their eyes. It appeared the fatty had become a big shot.
After one glance, Lukas turned his gaze away. He didn’t want to alert Ryan for no reason.
Time was ticking. He didn’t want to waste it on pointless conversations.
From time to time, his gaze would wander back to Ambrose following closely behind. Lukas let out a sigh internally. Maybe he had agreed too fast. Now that Ambrose was following him around everywhere, the two thousand star crystals did not look as tempting as before.
Letting out another sigh, Lukas moved further away from the crowd of awakeners to a relatively secluded patch of battlefield.
He didn’t summon Tommy. Instead, he brandished his sword and took a defensive sword stance. Turning toward Ambrose, he said in a low voice:
"Watch closely!"
With those words, his eyes focused on the bloodthirsty boar running toward him. Maybe it was his low concentration of star energy or something else, but in the bloodthirsty boar’s eyes, Lukas was just small fry.
Ambrose watched intently. Although bloodthirsty boars posed no threat to her, still, killing them was not the focus—but the sword technique displayed by Lukas was.
Lukas didn’t allow the boar to get close. A trail of smoke was left behind as the bloodthirsty boar moved toward Lukas with an angry gait, its two eyes filled with killing intent.
Once the distance between him and the boar was less than ten feet, Lukas’s eyes flashed and he muttered silently under his breath, "Gravity Pressure!"
Space rippled for a brief moment. Then, as if struck by lightning, the boar’s figure came to a halt mid-charge. Lukas also took advantage of this too-close distance.
With light hands, he slashed the sword from above. Puchi! Like a knife through hot butter, the sword easily sliced through the boar’s neck, sending its head flying through the air, rolling on the ground.
After performing a clean kill, he looked toward Ambrose and said in a plain tone, "So, while attacking, your entire body should be in rhythm. Instead of using brute force, simply put the weight of your entire body behind that strike. Don’t resist the momentum—go with the flow to perform one clean, swift strike."
"Understood?" Lukas asked while looking in her direction.
Ambrose simply nodded her head, her eyes relaying the beautiful dance from before.
Not caring about her shocked state, Lukas looked at his own hand then at the blood-drenched sword in his hand.
To be completely honest, even he himself was surprised by how swift the kill had been.
He had killed boars in the past, but it didn’t feel as effortless as today.
The improvement brought in his technique by the simple increase in sword mastery from basic to intermediate mastery was drastic.
Thinking up to this point, his eyes couldn’t help but light up slightly. What would happen if he advanced to advanced sword mastery?
Sigh! Now there was one more skill that he needed to upgrade, and the sacrifice points that he had were limited.
With that thought in mind, he turned his attention to the next prey.
Another epic grade, fire-spitting alligator.
A monster more than five meters tall, with sharp glowing scales covering its figure glowing like flowing lava. Each time it opened its mouth to spray jets of flaming particles, smoke would also come out, hiding its figure.
He turned to Ambrose and said, "You go and show me what you have learned."
"Okay..." Ambrose nodded with clear hesitation. It was clear she had yet to grasp anything.
If I say no, this good-for-nothing will definitely make fun of me... Ambrose thought while gritting her teeth. Although she had spent a limited amount of time with Lukas, even then she knew—although he would not say anything verbally, the way he reacted would definitely piss her off.
So without anything holding her back, gripping the sword tightly, she moved toward the fire-spitting alligator.
Noting her arrival, the fire-spitting alligator turned alert. Its two vertical pupils focused on the human in the distance. Its large mouth opened, and a cloud of smoke was spat out, hiding its figure.
Ambrose didn’t seem particularly affected. She tightened her grip on the sword and stole a glance at Lukas behind her as if saying: watch me.
Lukas also nodded while grabbing the boar head from the ground.
Tommy might not be here, but he was not going to let the head go to waste.
He had barely bent down to pick the head up when suddenly a loud explosion resounded from ahead—as if the sky had collapsed.
Bang!
Before he could understand what was going on, a shockwave hit his face, followed by an instant smell of sulphur and burnt charcoal.
Lukas slowly raised his head to look ahead, and immediately his eyes widened like saucers.
What in the name of god...!
Right at the spot where the epic grade fire-breathing crocodile should have been, a large ten-meter wide crater had formed with spiderweb-like cracks peeking out, even reaching near him. There was no sign of the crocodile anywhere. Only a lone woman stood with a sword in her hand that was bent somewhere unnaturally at a ninety-degree angle.
Lukas looked at this scene and could almost imagine what had exactly happened. Ambrose had literally used her sword like a hammer and crushed the crocodile to bits and pieces, not even leaving its head behind.
Looking at this scene, he could only question in his head:
Just how strong is she?
