Chapter 109: The Entrepreneur!

The mountain cave, where Daniel, Lia, and Ayra had just completed their Class Transitions, was now a hub of new power.

Ayra, the Rock Pugilist, flexed her S-Grade Crystal Gloves, her muscles rippling like granite beneath her uniform.

Lia, the Holy Priest, radiated a serene power, her A-Grade Staff of the World Ash glowing with a gentle light.

Daniel, the Night Ranger, felt the immense might of his S-Grade Blade of The Night and S-Grade Flying Cloud Mystic Bow. They were a force, ready for anything.

"Alright, team," Daniel announced, his voice calm but firm. "We have the Mountain and Sea Chest safely stored.

We’ve got our new classes, and we’re stronger than ever. But before we use the exit portal, we have one more job."

He gestured towards the massive pile of shimmering Yin and Yang cards they had taken from Ragnar.

"We have a huge amount of these cards. More than we need. There are other Awakened out there, still desperate to pass this Level 3 trial. They need these cards. And we have what they need."

Ayra’s eyes lit up. "You mean... we’re going to sell them?" she asked, a grin spreading across her face. "Like, for money? And other cool stuff? Oh, Vance, you truly are a genius!

A terrifying, destructive genius, but a genius nonetheless!"

Lia nodded, her expression thoughtful. "That is indeed a wise course of action, Daniel. Many Awakened will be desperate for cards to qualify for Level 4.

It would be a mutually beneficial exchange, allowing us to acquire valuable resources that we might not find otherwise, while also helping others avoid unnecessary conflict."

"Exactly," Daniel agreed. "We’ll set up a temporary marketplace near the teleportation array.

It’s a place where everyone has gathered, hoping to find a way out. We have the supply, they have the demand.

It’s time to make a fortune and grab some unique items along the way."

They left the cave, Nyx trotting happily beside Daniel.

As they walked towards the central mountain pass where the teleportation array was, Daniel kept his senses sharp.

His S-Grade [Aura Sense+] reached out, detecting numerous human energy signatures.

Other Awakened were gathering there, weary and anxious, waiting for the trial to end or hoping to find a last-minute deal.

As they approached the array, the crowd of Awakened saw them. Murmurs started, then quickly turned to gasps.

They recognized Daniel, the record-breaker, and Ayra, the berserker who had torn apart their peers.

Lia’s serene, commanding presence turned heads, not just for her formidable power, but also for her striking beauty and graceful, curvaceous form.

Many had witnessed Daniel’s battle with the Abyssal Maw Leviathan, and their fear was palpable.

Daniel, ignoring the whispers and wide eyes, walked to a flat, open area near the dormant teleportation array.

He stopped, turned to the assembled crowd, and raised his hand.

His voice, calm and clear, carried across the plaza, amplified slightly by his inherent power.

"Attention, Awakened!" Daniel announced.

"Phase Three is nearing its end. Many of you are likely short on Yin or Yang cards, or both. We, however, have a surplus."

He reached into his storage ring and pulled out a handful of Yin and Yang cards.

They shimmered with jade and gold light, catching the attention of every eye. A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.

"We have exactly one hundred Yin cards and ninety Yang cards to trade," Daniel continued, his voice ringing with confidence.

"We are offering these cards in exchange for materials of similar value.

Rare herbs, unique equipment, valuable beast parts, or Federation credits. We are here to trade, to help you secure your passage to Level 4. This is your chance."

A wave of desperate excitement washed over the crowd.

Many Awakened, bruised and battered, holding only a handful of cards, surged forward.

Obtaining cards was incredibly difficult and dangerous. To have such a large supply suddenly appear, for trade, was like a miracle.

A young man, his face gaunt with exhaustion, pushed through the crowd. He looked barely Level 3, and his F-grade equipment was tattered.

"Please! Aspirant Vance!" he begged, his voice trembling. "I only need one Yang card! I have 100 million Federation credits. Will that be enough?"

Daniel looked at him. 100 million Federation credits.

To most recruits, that was a fortune, a guarantee of a comfortable life on Earth for years.

But in the Verge, money was less useful than raw power and resources. Still, it was a fair offer for a single card needed for passage.

"One Yang card for 100 million Federation credits," Daniel stated clearly. "Deal."

He opened a trade window on his Nexus Interface.

The young man’s face lit up with overwhelming relief.

His virtual wallet transferred the funds, and a single, glowing Yang card materialized in his hand.

He clutched it like it was his lifeline.

"Thank you! Thank you, Aspirant Vance! You’ve saved my life!" the young man cried, almost sobbing with gratitude.

He quickly scurried towards the teleportation array, clutching his single, precious Yang card.

Other Awakened in the crowd watched, a mixture of envy and renewed hope in their eyes.

Some of the shadier-looking individuals, the ones who had been preying on weaker teams, eyed the young man with greedy intent.

Daniel felt their malicious auras through his [Aura Sense+].

He stepped forward, his S-Grade Blade of The Night appearing silently in his hand, its dark metal seeming to drink the dim light.

He didn’t raise it threateningly. He just let its silent, lethal presence be felt.

"A word of warning," Daniel announced, his voice suddenly cold, carrying an undeniable weight of power."

"Anyone who attempts to rob, harass, or harm those who trade with us will have to deal with me. Directly!

And I assure you, you will regret that decision far more than you can possibly imagine.

The Abyssal Maw Leviathan was merely a warm-up. Consider yourselves warned."

The casual mention of the Leviathan, the unspoken threat, and the lethal presence of his S-Grade blade sent a wave of chilling fear through the crowd.

The greedy glances vanished, replaced by nervous apprehension. Daniel’s reputation, forged in the fires of impossible combat, was his most potent deterrent.

Reassured by Daniel’s warning, the crowd swarmed forward. Not in a greedy mob, but in a more orderly fashion, desperate to secure their own passage to Level 4.

"Aspirant Vance! I have a set of B-grade elemental resistance armor, barely used!

Three Yang cards?"

"I have rare cultivation herbs from Level 2! Ten Yin cards!"

"I can offer a skill book, E-grade ’Healing Touch’!"

Daniel, Lia, and Ayra formed a makeshift trading post. Daniel handled the main transactions, his [Omniscient Insight] allowing him to quickly assess the true value of offered items and discern any hidden intentions.

He was looking for valuable materials, rare components, and skills he didn’t yet possess, particularly those that could be upgraded or fused by his SSS-Rank talent.

Lia, with her calm demeanor and keen eye for quality, assisted by checking the purity of herbs and appraising artifacts.

Her [Lifeweave Affinity] allowed her to subtly sense the latent energies within items.

Ayra, meanwhile, stood guard, her S-Grade Crystal Gloves clenching periodically, a silent, menacing warning to anyone contemplating trouble.

She looked particularly fierce. Nyx, in her smaller wolf form, sat by Daniel’s feet, occasionally letting out a low growl at overly aggressive traders, her Soulfire eyes glowing.

The trading was fast and furious. Daniel wasn’t aiming for maximum profit in Federation credits; he prioritized rare materials and unique skills.

He acquired stacks of exotic beast furs, shimmering elemental crystals, vials of potent elixirs, and a few minor skill books that, while low-grade, might offer interesting fusion opportunities for his SSS-Talent.

He exchanged Yang cards for rare metallic alloys, and Yin cards for complex magical scrolls that he couldn’t even read yet.

By the time the twin moons of the Taiji Basin reached their zenith, casting long, silvery shadows across the plaza, all of Daniel’s surplus Yin and Yang cards were gone.

In their place, he had amassed a fortune that dwarfed his previous gains.

His storage ring now contained thousands of units of rare materials, dozens of high-grade herbs, a collection of unique, if low-grade, skill books, and nearly a billion Federation credits.

"That," Ayra declared, stretching luxuriously, "was almost as satisfying as smashing things. Almost."

She clinked a pouch full of newly acquired precious gems.

"We’re rich, Vance! Filthy rich!"

Lia smiled, a genuine warmth in her eyes.

"We have indeed acquired invaluable resources, Daniel. And we have secured passage for many who would otherwise have failed."

Daniel nodded, a deep sense of satisfaction settling within him. His primary goal wasn’t wealth, but power.

And the materials he’d just acquired, the raw essences, the potential for new knowledge... they were all fuel for his SSS-Rank [Soul Assimilation] talent.

"Alright, team," Daniel said, looking at the exhausted but relieved crowd dispersing towards the teleportation array.

"We’ve done well. Now, for the final act of Level 3."

He looked towards the distant, dark form of the Abyssal Maw Leviathan’s corpse, half-submerged in Yang Lake.

A chill wind swept across the mountain pass, carrying the faint scent of death and immense, dormant power.

"It’s time to truly empower Nyx."
