BOOM!

A cloud of dust covered them bothz and undoubtedly, it seemed like the job was done. The girl wanted to run away, but she fought every nerve in her body. She didn’t want to end up like Night Hunter.

So she complied, focusing her phone camera on the cloud of dust.

As the cloud of dust settled, her eyes went wide, and so did the mutated Jackson.

Night Hunter was on his right knee, and his hand caught the fist of the mutated creature. But that wasn’t all, he was completely covered in a suit of armor.

It looked like a futuristic suit of armor, forged from smooth silver plates that fit tightly over a strong frame. The chest was sharp and solid, marked with glowing green lines that looked like eyes.

The helmet was sleek with a narrow visor, hiding the face completely. It combined both a mixture of black and grey, with faint lights running through it as if the suit carried its own power.

[Azrain Battle Armor has been activated.]

"W—what is this? Were you hiding this all along Night Hunter!?" Jackson drove his other fist towards his face, but Night Hunter’s armored hand moved instinctively, catching it with ease.

"What!?"

[Hostile Threat detected.]

[Defensive protocol has been activated.]

[Initiating the Enhanced Neutralization Unit.]

The green lights of the armor’s visor turned red, and Night Hunter — though not in control, raised his head.

The suit’s metallic palm shifted, reshaping itself into a built-in circular repulsor cannon. A circular wave of concentrated kinetic energy shot forth, tearing through Jackson’s right arm and blasting him off his feet, sending him crashing violently into the side of a nearby building.

"Night Hunter..." The girl couldn’t believe her eyes, he had such a tech at his disposal? She focused her camera on him, not daring to miss a single second.

This was internet gold waiting to be polished, like a diamond in the rough. Once it reached the right audience, she could be set for life.

"Damn you!" Jackson burst through the rubble, sending shards of stone and steel scattering in every direction. His severed arm had already grown back, regenerating with terrifying speed as if the injury had never existed.

Several chunks of rock hurtled toward the girl, one of them far larger than the rest. Her eyes widened in terror as it came crashing down. She stumbled back, fell onto the ground, and squeezed her eyes shut, raising her arms over her head as if praying for a miracle to shield her.

Moments later, she slowly opened her eyes, surprised that no impact had come. The massive rocks hovered above her, suspended in the air by some unseen force. Then, a radiant orange glow burst to life, flickering around her like a living flame, forming a dome of energy that wrapped her in its protective embrace.

It was a magnetic field cast by the Armored Hunter, holding the rubble in midair and shielding the girl within its unseen power.

The shards of rock and steel clattered to the ground as the magnetic field faded away. Night Hunter’s head swiveled toward the girl with a low mechanical whirr, and his gaze fixed on her in silence.

The girl understood immediately. She picked up her phone and ran away without looking back.

"How dare you ignore me!? Night Hunter!!" Jackson charged forward at him with a reckless speed, but before he could even blink, Night Hunter vanished from his sight, leaving only a faint ripple of displaced air where he once stood. "What!?"

His heightened senses tingled, and he turned around immediately, only to find Night Hunter standing right behind him, on jet propelled rollar skates which allowed him to move at superhuman speed.

"Where did you get this tech from!? Answer me!" He charged forward again, and this time, Night Hunter didn’t move. "Got you!" Just when he thought it was over, his hands passed right through the suit of armor, and it’s figure shifted erratically before fading away. "A hologram!?"

[Activating anti-gravity field.]

Almost immediately, Jackson felt an overwhelming force press down on him, pinning him to the ground. Each attempt to resist was inevitable, and his limbs were smashed into chunks of meat, but it kept regenerating at ultra high speeds.

The soles of the armored Night Hunter’s feet slid open, and revealed two repulsors that blasted him off the ground. The repulsors stabilized mid air, positioning Night Hunter above Jackson.

He raised his palm, pointing it down at the mutated human. In it’s defense protocol mode, Hava already calculated the regenerative abilities of the mutated human. In order to destroy it, it needed to destroy him in one go.

[Activating anti particle matter.]

[Redirecting particle matter to palm repulsors.]

From the repulsors, Hava discharged a controlled, yet powerful charge of anti particle matter charge at Jackson. His body imploded on contact, and the ground beneath him erupted like a volcano, leaving a 30 meter crater deep in the ground.

Despite controlling the charges, it was inevitable, the shockwave completely disintegrated Jackson and took apart several rooftops in the neighborhood.

At it’s peak, the anti particle matter could level the largest mountain on contact.

[Threat Neutralized.]

The repulsors reduced in power, and brought Night Hunter back down to the ground. The Suit of armor, which took literally all the nanites in the digitally enhanced carrier, dissipated from his body, and returned to Night Hunter’s wrist.

The Dual Specter was the only nanite left from the carrier, as well as his Shadow Suit Mark I, the touch panel of his watched turned red — a sign that the D.A.C was recharging itself and regenerating the Nanites within it.
