Standing Next To You-Chapter 201: [Never]
Chapter 201: [Never]
Maid Ye Zhai was silent for a moment. The Young Miss’s skills when putting on make-up had significantly improved. She looked great in her make-up, but...
"...Young Miss, you are going to school, right?"
"Of course." Bei Sangyun flicked her huge curls, appearing seductive and mature.
"Your make-up is definitely beautiful, but I think you should lighten it a bit. This look would be great if you were attending a party. But if it’s for school, this won’t do..."
Bei Sangyun: "...."
Maid Ye Zhai was known to be honest, so she couldn’t be lying.
She looked at the thick mascara on her eyes, her refined eyebrows, her flushed cheeks, and her bright red lips.
"I think I am beautiful. What’s wrong with it?"
"You look older than your age." Maid Ye Zhai expressionlessly commented.
Bei Sangyun: "..."
Right. She was used to this kind of make-up. But the present her was just a teenager, like a blooming flower. Not an intimidating and domineering CEO.
Maid Ye Zhai saw the complicated look on Bei Sangyun’s face. She offered, "How about I fix it for you, Young Miss?"
Bei Sangyun agreed readily. As Maid Ye Zhai removed the thick blush on her cheek, she casually asked, "Is there an event at school?" But the moment her question was said, Maid Ye Zhai regretted it immediately.
Her relationship with the Young Miss was not too intimate to ask such a casual question.
But surprisingly, Bei Sangyun replied to her. "I am chasing a boy I like."
The hand that was holding the brush paused. The momentary pause went unnoticed. Maid Ye Zhai continued brushing her cheek lightly with her expressionless face, not showing her shock inside.
Bei Sangyun seemed to find a confidant and continued to speak, "I have to look good so he can’t reject me, right?"
Maid Ye Zhai erased Bei Sangyun’s bright red lipstick and replaced it with a light pink one. She could not help but ask, "...Have you confessed to him?"
Bei Sangyun’s eyes smiled, "I gave him a love letter."
Maid Ye Zhai saw the sparkle in her eyes. Only when she saw her Young Miss like this that she had become a person of her age. Youthful and bright.
She finished fixing Bei Sangyun’s makeup and made her look in the mirror. The mature look earlier had turned into a refreshing and lovely appearance that was unique to a young lady.
Bei Sangyun liked it a lot and gave a smile.
Maid Ye Zhai glanced at her, and a subtle smile appeared on the corner of her mouth. "Then I wish you luck, Young Miss."
Her Young Miss truly had changed. Fortunately, her change wasn’t all that bad. Although the Young Miss had become more unpredictable, stubborn, and eccentric, she also became cheerful and relaxed.
The depressing and suffocating aura around her dissipated a lot. She no longer looked like a person trapped and tormented in a cage but a bright little bird ready to open her wings and fly.
--And she preferred this Young Miss.

Bei Sangyun was in a good mood as she walked along the school’s pathway, still wearing the coat she got from Fei Chuan.
She hummed a song and skipped on her steps. Perhaps due to her anticipation and expectation for this day, only thinking about Fei Chuan, Bei Sangyun did not have a nightmare and was able to sleep for at least four hours.
Many students were looking at her as usual. Some who met her gaze lowered their eyes fearfully.
The tyrant who usually appeared solemn and intimidating suddenly showed a smile. Unfortunately, the students did not witness her rare smile, as they were too afraid to look up and meet her gaze, choosing to run away instead.
Undeterred, Bei Sangyun went to the locker area. As she opened her locker, a black card fell to the floor.
Initially, she did not intend to pick it up. But she caught some words on it, prompting her to halt and gaze at the card.
The back of the card displayed neat and strong white ink letters: [From Fei Chuan.]
Bei Sangyun’s eyes lit up. She did not expect Fei Chuan to have a romantic side. He even replied with a letter! Excitedly picking it up, she flipped the card around.
[Never.]
Bei Sangyun: "...."
She flipped it again, but the single word written on the front card remained the same.
Bei Sangyun: "...."
The happy look on her face disappeared, replaced by an ugly expression.
Reading the one word for the nth time, Bei Sangyun could even hear the arrogance and disgust in his tone.
He rejected her. The man who had claimed to ’love’ her rejected her with not just a simple ’No,’ but with the strong word ’Never’!
In anger, Bei Sangyun crumpled the card, changed her shoes to indoor ones, and headed upstairs to confront the man.
.....
Amidst the lively chatter of students, at the farthest corner of the room, Fei Chuan was engrossed in his laptop.
Suddenly, the room fell silent. His sensitive ears picked up on the unusual quietness, and without lifting his head, he knew Bei Sangyun had arrived. Either him or Bei Sangyun always had this kind of effect whenever entering the classroom.
As expected, a shadow loomed over him.
He anticipated she would just sit quietly, but the woman suddenly slammed her hand on his desk. "Fei Chuan, what’s the meaning of this?"
In her hand was a crumpled black card.
Fei Chuan’s fingers paused. He looked up to see Bei Sangyun’s dark expression.

Additional Scene:
Fei Chuan bought a black card and a white pen to respond to Bei Sangyun’s ’prank’.
The woman had returned to her usual strangeness, and her antics had resumed.
After spending days with Bei Sangyun, Fei Chuan had built a tolerance for her and somehow managed to get along with her unusual behavior. This included indulging her desire to eat at a food stall, replacing his utensils, snatching his food, and agreeing to her ridiculous deals, such as holding hands for three seconds, and so on.
Believing it was another one of her antics, Fei Chuan kindly responded in the same way.
He wrote a single word majestically. After finishing, he glanced at his writing, looking proud and satisfied.
