Star Gate-Chapter 1203: Taking Revenge Face-To-Face (IV)
Chapter 1203: Taking Revenge Face-To-Face (IV)
Just as Li Hao was about to share the spoils of battle, his eyes darted to a certain place in the sky. There, the void trembled.
A smile suddenly appeared on the young man’s face, prompting jerks of surprise from the group. It had been a very long time since Li Hao smiled so sincerely. He smiled quite a bit recently, but... the expression always came off rather fake.
The young man’s eyes creased with genuine mirth in the moment as the void shook violently.
A large black dog crunched through the void. Its presence billowed commandingly, but it seemed to be third or fourth level Sun and Moon upon further inspection. That didn’t make it too strong.
“Arf arf arf!” The black dog’s nose twitched as it bounded through mountains and rivers, running this way with extreme excitement.
Li Hao stood still and watched, waiting for the dog to reach him.
Moments later, it darted through the void and pounced on Li Hao. It came to an abrupt halt and almost bashed its head open. The dog looked up with confusion—Li Hao’s body was so hard!
The young man threw his head back with laughter; his laugh nearly overturned the world!
“You’ve got quite the keen nose! I’ve just killed some Saints and am about to share the spoils with everyone, but here you are. You’ve finally emerged from closed door cultivation, Panth!”
“Arf arf arf!” Panther was likewise delighted. It’d secluded itself for a very long time, but emerged with significant gains. It’d ultimately located the dao meridians of modern monster spirits and opened some of them. It wouldn’t possess a Sun and Moon cultivation level otherwise.
The monster spirits had been unable to identify their dao meridians prior to this. Panther had been with Li Hao and Yuan Shuo ever since leaving Silver City. No one kept anything from the dog when they discussed cultivation and it’d been in seclusion for a while.
But now, it had emerged!
“Arf arf arf!” Panther echoed Li Hao’s joy and barked for a while. It looked around with growing puzzlement. Had it been in seclusion for a very long time? Everyone seemed so strong!
But... why were some people not present anymore?
Li Hao was close to very few people, the same went for Panther. One of them was Li Hao, next came Liu Long, and after that was Yuan Shuo. Liu Long was its mentor for martial dao and an inspiration—the man could even count as a teacher.
The dog had cultivated Liu Long’s Nine Forged Force since the very beginning. It might be the strongest powerhouse for that method.
Panther looked around; Li Hao knew what was going on through its mind and patted the dog’s massive head with a smile. “They’re... asleep.”
“Arf...” Panther stilled, then grasped what the young man meant. It threw its head back to howl at the sky, baying like a wolf and threatening to devour the world!
A massive suction force burst out of its body. It swallowed the void while the howl echoed through the surroundings with killing intent. The dog howled again and again!
Far off in the distance, several powerhouses greeted the sight with startled looks. The lineage of the heavenly dog was skilled at devouring its targets. Whether it was the Exalted Heavenly Dog Emperor or the Monster Spirit Envoy Jiao [1], all of them were heavyweights when it came to the path of devouring.
While the black dog had a very mixed lineage, its ability to devour was so strong that it startled onlookers. Was the world about to see another major monster spirit?
Capsize Sea sighed to itself. This bloodline is seriously the bane of my family’s existence! Damn it, I thought the dog died! What’s it doing out here again?
Thank goodness its strength is devouring, it won’t be fighting me for body dao.
Panther butted its head against Li Hao after a while of howling and didn’t make another sound. Its earlier joy had completely dissipated. It would never go into closed door cultivation again!
Li Hao smiled and patted the dog’s head. He’d left Silver City with this dog; it was the only one left out of those he knew from before. His teacher had often spoken of turning Panth into dog stew, but who would’ve thought that it was his teacher who would leave them first?
“Let’s enter the city to improve our strength!” Li Hao dashed into the city, as did the other powerhouses.
Powerful presences soon shook the ancient city. The young man shattered the Saint corpses and flooded the vicinity with all sorts of energy. Of them, chaos presence was the most dense. Li Hao outright swallowed it, as did an overjoyed redwood.
The group of people vanished on the spot. Li Hao wasn’t in a hurry to head to the Tranquil Star ruins as there might be further delightful surprises waiting for him there. He needed to digest his current gains first.
......
Galewind.
Red Dust stood unmoving. Powerhouses materialized around him—many of them. It was so quiet that a pin drop could be heard. Even their very breaths were noticeable. They’d lost three Saints this time, but that wasn’t important. Most critical of all was that Li Hao had gone completely crazy!
The brat had taunted and humiliated Red Dust to his face, even personally killing the Zheng patriarch! No one dared make a sound after that.
Red Dust continued to be quiet for a while longer before he looked sharply at the group. “Tell me, would I have killed Li Hao first had I walked out of the city just now, or would the Red Moon exalted emperor have broken free of his seal first?”
No one said a word. As the silence dragged on, a Saint managed to force out, “Milord doesn’t need to pay any attention to Li Hao’s provocation. Milord only needs to grasp the world and great dao for a chance to resurrect the old patriarch! Had you walked out, misery would’ve descended upon the world with the Red Moon exalted emperor’s regained freedom and Silver Moon world’s doom would be nigh. You did this for all of Silver Moon...”
Red Dust didn’t say anything.
“Now that the world’s revitalization is accelerating, Saints will be able to emerge from Galewind so long as everything is further stabilized,” someone else said cautiously. “At that time, we can slaughter everyone that stands with Li Hao...”
“Li Hao... is crazy!” Red Dust finally said after a long moment. “I am clear-headed, but he has gone mad! The world has recovered to the point in which the primary bodies of Immortals can walk out. Send someone to the west and look for Ying Hongyue. Protect Ying Hongyue!”
“What?”
“Ying Hongyue is in danger!” Red Dust seemed to have recovered his calm. “He and the Moon God are keys to the seal! Once the world recovers to the point of permitting my movement though it, Li Hao will kill Ying Hongyue and the Moon God if he is unable to stand against me then. He will release the Red Moon exalted emperor!
“And the Silver City seal... Galewind needs to be shifted there! Li Hao has gone completely crazy and wants to force me out of Galewind...”
The group sighed with relief to see Red Dust refocus on other topics. It was just, did Li Hao really... dare release the Red Moon exalted emperor?
“He has moved Battle Heaven into his dao universe!” said Red Dust. “Battle Heaven can contain tens of millions of people. He might nurse the idea of perishing together and have relocated certain people into the city. Even if the seal breaks, the Red Moon exalted emperor may not easily locate the dao universe. The young man is increasingly dangerous!”
The group’s hearts quailed, what their lord spoke of was true!
“Li Hao wishes to shatter my dao heart, but he doesn’t know that he’s revealed his own trump cards instead!” Red Dust suddenly remarked. “He relies on that dao universe. If we are able to enter it, that will mark his doomsday! We... can partner with the divine spirits for a bit.”
He looked into the distance again, the look in his eyes growing colder. Li Hao, do you really think that I can’t do anything to you?
You killed Zheng Gong and my father—that has strengthened my dao heart instead. Perhaps I should go talk to that Red Moon exalted emperor.
The ancient city vanished from its spot, easing the hearts of its powerhouses. There were a lot of them, filling the air with Saint presences. However, they were all slightly resigned. They were situated in a massive ancient city, but they were somehow unable to do anything to Li Hao.
It was quite aggravating.
......
At the same time.
Zhang An walked through the world, seemingly unrestrained by everything. Shifting through the void, he reached Silver City before anyone else did. He stood beneath the seal and raised his head to the sky, seeing the seal itself.
He stared at the sky for a while, red lines appearing in his eyes. Only those of the eight families could see those lines, but they were somehow apparent in his eyes as well. The eight families were also restricted by the supreme.
Zhang An’s mind began to rise, following one of the lines. A starry expanse soon appeared in his eyes.
That immediately prompted a powerful being to open its eyes and look in his direction. Zhang An glanced at the existence, not paying it further attention. He looked around and soon saw an ancient city deep in the depths of the void.
Sword City!
The ancient city looked dead and inert.
Zhang An studied it for a while, a light sparkling in his eyes. He understood something after a moment and withdrew his mental strength. His speed was so fast that the exalted emperor didn’t have a chance to say anything.
The Red Moon exalted emperor was about to greet his visitor when he frowned instead. Was the person gone? Who had it been?
Back on the ground, Zhang An furrowed his brows and looked around. He disappeared again, gravity and confusion lingering in his eyes.
Sword City... might be empty!
......
Boundless.
The flesh and blood of nine Saints filled the air. Although core origin energy wasn’t of much use to cultivators of the new dao, the bodies, Immortal strength, and higher level energy was immensely useful to everyone’s cultivation.
And yet, Li Hao frowned slightly. The crowd was opening acupoints at a very fast clip, but he was still slightly worried. He’d discovered that the blood essence of monster spirits—or rather desolate beasts—and even humans could accelerate clearing acupoints when combined with the acupoints.
The effects were marvelous and the cultivator’s speed was very fast. This was both good and bad.
It might cause tension and violence between humans and monster spirits. Humans might kill each other as well. Blood essence enabled one to clear acupoints at ten times the usual rate!
How many could withstand this kind of temptation?
One drop of desolate beast blood entering the body caused an acupoint to quickly pop open. This was so much faster than usual that it could not be described.
It wasn’t just Li Hao, but everyone who’d discovered this as well. Because they’d killed few monster spirits before, they hadn’t discovered this finding. But now that everyone possessed certain cultivation insights and swiftly cleared acupoints to begin with, they found that the blood of desolate beasts was highly nutritious.
Was it because they were desolate beasts, or because they were Saints?
Everyone quickly opened dao meridians thanks to the resources offered by nine Saints. There weren’t many Sun and Moon on Li Hao’s side and they were a far distance from Saints. The energy exuded from the corpses were sufficient to raise everyone up a level.
