Star Gate-Chapter 1698: Life is Very Exciting! (III)
“We can’t wait any longer! They might be notifying the other seventh rank as we speak. If we hold back, we’ll be in over our heads once the two seventh ranks gather. Seniors Fog Mountain and Sword Sovereign, we need to break into the world while the other exalted emperors are weathering the tribulation and kill Griefstricken!” Li Hao barked out orders. They had no other choice!
Now it was both sides making erroneous judgments, an unfortunate side effect of the difficulties of communicating through the chaos. That made it nigh impossible to obtain first hand information.
Hence, Li Hao was unaware of the alliance and Griefstricken had absolutely no idea that the Sword Sovereign was nearby. Wasn’t he supposed to be in Skyward? That was what the world master had said before he left.

Kaboom!
Countless thunderbolts descended from the sky, shocking the Red Moon exalted emperors! This was a staggering chaos tribulation! They were done for!
“Work together and defend against the tribulation, hurry!” roared Griefstricken.
“Master Griefstricken, why is there a chaos tribulation striking us??” called out dumbfounded exalted emperors.
How could Griefstricken respond that their world master had betrayed the alliance?
“It doesn’t matter why it is,” was his only answer. “It’s probably... probably that our liege has seized the Skwyard dao universe and has possibly set foot into ninth rank! Everyone, this is our chance! We must withstand the tribulation even if we die! If we succeed and our liege enters ninth rank, he will be able to resurrect us all...”
These words set everyone at ease. So this was the case!
Extreme excitement gripped the crowd. Ninth rank?? That was... incredible!
Even the Pagoda King and others paused. Ninth rank... They were all confused, due to a disparity in information. Was it Li Hao or the Red Moon master behind the tribulation?
There was no time to further ponder the question as the tribulation outright descended upon them!
RUMBLE!!
A river of thunder and lightning poured down, striking Griefstricken first. He shook, as did all of the exalted emperors beneath him tremble. They only barely managed to hold back the onslaught through concerted effort.
The sixth ranks erupted with everything they had. Falling beneath the barrage was not an option! There were at least nine thunderbolts to come!
It was then that Griefstricken’s face twitched; he could sense a seventh rank’s presence. While it didn’t seem like that of Wave Moon from Skywave major world... he took to the air with a clench of his jaw. “Keep defending us against the tribulation, I’m going out for a bit and will be right back.”
“Sir...” Going out? Now?
What else can I do? Griefstricken cursed quietly. He needed to keep Wave Moon back!
Otherwise, once the woman rushed in and saw that the entire world was busy with a chaos tribulation, she’d immediately know what had happened even if she was a complete fool!
He had to convince her that nothing of that sort was wrong, just that something minor had developed within Red Moon.
......
“Huh?” Fog Mountain blinked. “He seems to be... coming out!”
Sword Sovereign gaped; both of them were baffled. Since you’ve... seen through our plan... aren’t you coming out to your death then? But if you haven’t identified our motives... then it doesn’t make sense for you to immediately spring to defense.
Fog Mountain didn’t know what to say and didn’t care that much. “Whatever, we’ll kill him as soon as he shows his face.”
The hell was going on here?? He was being turned all around by Griefstricken! And who knew how much longer his strength would last? It was better to strike first. Everything else... could wait.
This was certainly a fight being conducted with epic confusion.
Fog Mountain set everything out of mind and attacked the second that Griefstricken emerged from the world gate. He held nothing back, venting all of his previous frustration, resentment, and dejection!
Eat shit, motherfucker! I had to give up my strength all because of you, you asshole! How can you be so shameless?!
BOOM!
A massive explosion ripped through the void and reverberated through the sky!
Griefstricken stumbled backward, his eyes widened. He focused on the person across the way and blinked. It wasn’t Wave Moon!
Shit! Not Wave Moon! It’s... Fog Mountain!
“How is it you?!” Griefstricken’s expression changed drastically. What was Fog Mountain doing here?? “And... the Sword Sovereign??!!”
This was impossible!! Not possible at all! Wasn’t the Sword Sovereign at Skyward?! Why were they on the Red Moon doorstep?!
The Sword Sovereign and Fog Mountain also blinked with astonishment. Uh... who else, if not us? Even if you didn’t think of Fog Mountain as a possibility, isn’t it normal to guess that the Sword Sovereign is here? So... you blithering idiot didn’t guess who we were at all?
Then what were you defending so seriously for?
“Wave Moon!!” howled Griefstricken, his voice echoing through the chaos. “Come quick, the enemy attacks!!”
“......” Fog Mountain and the Sword Sovereign’s jaw dropped. And... you didn’t notify your allies prior to this? We thought you already did so in secret and that they would be here soon! What are you doing out here by yourself if you haven’t?
Griefstricken turned tail and ran!
How did I know it was you guys coming?? Damn it, damn it all to hell! We got it all wrong! So the world master... is not behind the chaos tribulation!!
But he was already off world, how would the two exalted emperors give him any chance to get away? Added to that their new knowledge that the other seventh rank seemed uninformed for the moment... It would take time for them to rush over, assuming that they’d heard the yell.
Fog Mountain brightened with delight!
This... idiot doesn’t seem to know anything. This is our chance! The heavens are helping me!
“Kill!” Fog Mountain reached out with a hand, his five fingers suppressing the world and summoning the mountain of clouds and sea of fog. A special item seemed to appear in the domain—a piece of... thread?
The Sword Sovereign didn’t see it clearly! He only saw Fog Mountain’s massive hand seemingly thrumming at something.
This premier seventh rank hadn’t demonstrated much of his impressive capabilities before giving up to the Skycloud delegation. But now, the sky trembled! The fortunes had been stirred up!
Griefstricken’s face colored as a surge of peculiar dao strength swept through him. It was unstoppable as it washed over him.
The look in Fog Mountain’s eyes had changed. He was as if a divine spirit, seeing through everything. His massive palm flicked the chord with the mountain of clouds and sea of fog.
“Sever the four directions!” he commanded aloofly.
Boom!
The five fingers shattered, coming down upon the land as five towering mountains that cut off the cardinal directions.
“Separate heaven and earth!” Heaven and earth became a cage after a grunt, one with clouds and mist permeating it.
“Conceal the six senses!” Clouds and fog rushed forth; a dismayed Griefstricken found himself stripped of his sense of direction.
“Fog Mountain!!”
What kind of dao was this?!
The outside world only knew that the Exalted Fog Mountain Emperor cultivated the dao of the cloud and sea. It was a derivation of the water system, but it seemed more than that today.
He severed the four directions, separated heaven and earth, and concealed the six senses! There was no direction, world, self, or clarity!
Sword Sovereign’s eyes widened as well. This was an incredible dao! Griefstricken had been trapped in an instant. Fog Mountain was an astounding peak seventh rank! It was now the Sword Sovereign’s turn to strike!
He did so soundlessly, quietly, as if there was only the sword among all daos with the silencing of the worlds and upon the creation of the chaos!
There was only this sword among the formation of heaven and earth! It severed immortality! He was the Eternal Life Swordsman!
I sever myself, you, and the great dao!
KABOOM!!
A massive explosion rang through the clouds; a dao universe came into view at this time. Someone seemed to be howling with outrage in it. The Red Moon master!
You bastard!
The Red Moon master seemed to have sensed something and the changes taking place on his home world. He was livid with rage!
Who?! Who’s ambushed Red Moon??
New Martial?!
But New Martial only has two seventh ranks and he’d left two behind as well, as well as more than one hundred exalted emperors. In addition, the New Martial Human King would never lend strength to the Ash Emperor as the Red Moon master was currently hunting the Human King!
If he lent out his strength now... that would be to nurse a death wish.
......
Within the Skyward dao universe.
The Red Moon master raged impotently!!
The Orchid Forest master had also sensed a thing or two. Li Hao and the rest really had ambushed Red Moon! And it looked like... they were on the cusp of success. The wild ripples in the great dao meant that Griefstricken had encountered grave danger. He was forced to mobilize so much dao strength that it shook the entire dao universe.
While the Orchid Forest master registered the changes, he remained expressionless.
“Milord, we need to launch an offensive at the Human King right now!” he quickly suggested to the wrathful Red Moon master. “We need to force him to borrow strength from the Ash Emperor and shift danger from Red Moon! Otherwise, we’re hard pressed to break out of the isolation of dual dao universes. It will be difficult to breach a ninth rank dao universe!”
The Red Moon master immediately came to his senses; his expression chilled. “Gather together and cease seeking for the dao origin. Chase after the Human King and cut him down!”
With that, he accelerated madly and shot toward the Human King!
The Human King had been leisurely strolling around, since all of these people focused on the dao origin after entering the dao universe. Even the Red Moon master hadn’t kept up the chase. He’d been at ease, but now his eyes widened with horror.
The fuck?! Have you lost your mind?? Why are you coming after me instead of going for the dao origin?!
“Has your old man croaked, Red Moon?” The Human King was known for his foul mouth. He threw his head back with laughter. “What, are you chasing me because you want me to be your father? That won’t do, you’re not worthy! I don’t have an unfilial son like you!”
“Damn you, go to hell!”
