Star Odyssey-Chapter 3395: Suppressed
Chapter 3395: Suppressed
Lu Yin took a step forward, and he was suddenly standing right in front of Wei Nu. She stared at him in shock. “You?”
Lu Yin stated in a stern voice, “Your injury came from that blood-red sword.”
Wei Nu’s pupils instantly shrank. How could he know that? Wait, is it because of what just happened?
Lu Yin reached out to grab the woman. “Who does that sword belong to? Who are you plotting against?”
Wei Nu took out a paper cutout and snipped it in two.
These cutouts were able to sever a person’s past, but the River of Aeons could not be reversed. This resulted in a wave in the River of Aeons that was powerful enough to seriously wound even Lu Yin.
In the past, Lu Yin had sent one of the Origin Progenitor’s swords to himself from the future in order to injure Wei Nu.
That was no longer necessary.
Severing the past meant cutting both time and karma; without a past karmic cause, how could there be a karmic effect in the future?
Wei Nu wanted to sever Lu Yin’s karma, but with his Inner Clarity Technique, Lu Yin could find the causes through the corresponding effects and then forcefully reconnect them without disturbing the River of Aeons at all.
Wei Nu stared blankly as the paper cutout became whole once more. She was beyond shocked. “You’ve actually comprehended karma? How is that possible?”
Lu Yin suddenly seized Wei Nu by the neck and shouted, “Who does that sword belong to?”
Wei Nu’s face grew pale as terror filled her eyes. In a daze, she stared past Lu Yin.
Startled, he whipped around. At some point in time, someone had arrived, and they were calmly watching Lu Yin.
“It belongs to me.”
Lu Yin stared at the man, and slowly, carefully enunciating each word. “Master... Qing Cao.”
The man who suddenly appeared in the Karma Sanctum and terrified Wei Nu was none other than Master Qing Cao.
Lu Yin had never expected the Immortal to appear.
Master Qing Cao stared at Lu Yin and said, “Dao Monarch Lu, it’s been a long time.”
Lu Yin released Wei Nu, still staring at Master Qing Cao. “Is that sword yours?”
Master Qing Cao showed a hint of a smile. “Who else could it belong to?”
Lu Yin slowly clenched his fist. “Why are you here?”
Master Qing Cao praised Lu Yin. “Congratulations, Dao Monarch Lu. You’ve stepped onto a path that even we are unwilling to walk, a true path to Immortality.”
“Karma?”
“Yes. That path is too difficult, which is why we do not willingly take it. However, your timing is wrong. You should not have set foot on that path at this time. You must not enter the Immortal realm.”
Lu Yin stared at Master Qing Cao. “Can comprehending karma allow a person to enter the Immortal realm?”
Master Qing Cao replied, “It is one path. Whether it can truly lead there, not even I can say for sure. Regardless, you cannot be allowed to walk this path so easily.
"At first, I intended to deal with you permanently. However, the karma to do so is too heavy. Instead, I will seal you for a hundred years. After that time, I will return to the Mirari Realm and release you."
After speaking, the man was suddenly right before Lu Yin.
Lu Yin was ready. He released his inner universe, and at the same time, a terrifying eruption of consciousness surged towards Master Qing Cao. Lu Yin also released a tremendous number of sequence particles. Within the bounds of Verdant Eternity, he threw a palm strike that was infused with a purplish-black substance, and he immediately followed up with his other hand using Flipping the Sky.
With Master Qing Cao as his opponent, Lu Yin unleashed everything he had ever mastered.
He would only get one chance to escape the Mirari Realm, and this was it.
Master Qing Cao again praised him, "Throughout history, across all the civilizations, no one else has ever surpassed your accomplishments. To achieve so much in a mere century is truly extraordinary. Given enough time, you might truly reach the Immortal realm, but for now, you are not yet an Immortal."
Consciousness, sequence particles, Flipping the Sky, physical strength—everything was instantly overturned.
Master Qing Cao raised his hand, and everything nearby was restored to its original state. This was not the power of time or space, but rather a rejection of all powers and techniques. In a single moment, all that Lu Yin was capable of unleashing was completely neutralized.
Lu Yin watched as Master Qing Cao's hand descended, and a spiral of karma twined around the younger man’s fingers before he flicked it out.
Master Qing Cao saw the spiral of karma shoot towards him, but he was unbothered. He allowed it to pass by, and it proved completely harmless.
The truth was that Lu Yin did not know how to use karma in a battle. He simply instinctively felt that karma might be the only way for him to challenge an Immortal.
Unfortunately, he understood too little and lacked a clear way to use the power.
Master Qing Cao’s hand fell onto Lu Yin’s forehead. Around the two men, spirals of karma shot upwards like blooming flowers, only to collapse again the very next instant. They folded inwards like closing petals and completely suppressed Lu Yin.
Everything was over in an instant.
The moment that Lu Yin had released his overwhelming attack, leaving Wei Nu completely defenseless, to Master Qing Cao's counterstrike, everything had ended far too quickly.
Wei Nu had not even been able to react, and she simply stared on in stupefaction.
Master Qing Cao retracted his hand, his face revealing his admiration. "Neither Ancient God nor Jiang Feng were enough to compel me to act personally. For you to reach this level after just over a century of cultivation, you are truly a rare talent. Unprecedented, even."
With that, the man turned and left, never even glancing at Wei Nu, though Master Qing Cao did take the Seraph out of the Mirari Realm with him.
It was as though Wei Nu meant absolutely nothing to the Immortal.
Once Master Qing Cao was gone, Wei Nu finally heaved a sigh of relief. She looked over at Lu Yin. He stood in place, frozen like a statue.
Aside from Lu Yin himself, there was nothing else to be seen.
Still, Wei Nu knew that Lu Yin had been suppressed by the Karma Sanctum’s karma.

The fact that she could not see anything did not mean that there was nothing there.
The more she realized that she could detect nothing at all, the more terrified Wei Nu became.
She felt incredibly frustrated. All of her scheming had been for nothing. She was treated as nothing more than a joke in that man’s eyes.
She had the ability to plot against anyone who had not yet achieved Immortality, including even those who were as powerful as the Origin Progenitor, but a true Immortal was on a completely different level. Such beings were able to completely disregard Wei Nu.
She stared at Lu Yin for a long time before finally leaving the Karma Sanctum. She shifted her focus back to the River of Aeons.
She felt humiliated by being ignored by Master Qing Cao, but she also understood that she indeed lacked the qualifications to attract an Immortal’s notice. Still, as the ferryman of the River of Aeons, Wei Nu could always return to the River of Aeons. With that power at her disposal, not even an Immortal would dare to overlook her.
But the price of doing that was to abandon any chance of ever achieving Immortality and being forever restricted to the River of Aeons.
In the end, Wei Nu left. She could not accept being confined to the River of Aeons forever. She would continue to look for a way to achieve Immortality.
Three years passed in the Mirari Realm before Progenitor Ku awoke. He stood up and proceeded to simply search for the forbidden region’s exit.
He failed to find the exit, but he did stumble upon Lu Yin.
Slowly walking towards the young man, Progenitor Ku frowned and stopped when he was about ten meters away. “Suppressed by karma.”
The time he had spent sitting in the Karma Sanctum without moving had not been wasted. Fully deserving of the praise Wei Nu had given him, Ku Jie had also comprehended something of karma, even if his enlightenment was not nearly as profound as Lu Yin’s.
Without some level of comprehension, Progenitor Ku would not have been able to move around in the forbidden region while retaining a clear mind.
Those who did not have some measure of comprehension of karma could not understand what had sealed Lu Yin, not even Wei Nu.
Progenitor Ku had not seen what Master Qing Cao had done to Lu Yin, but the Progenitor still instinctively stopped when he was ten meters away. This demonstrated the progress that he had made over these several years.
However, this was still not enough; not even close.
Progenitor Ku sat down ten meters away from Lu Yin and slowly closed his eyes. He intended to help free Lu Yin from whatever was suppressing him.
Half a year went by in the blink of an eye. Progenitor Ku opened his eyes once more and muttered, “Cause and effect, but there is a limit to it. However, all extremes must be reversed, which means that no limit truly exists.”
With that, he closed his eyes again.
Five more years passed. One day, Progenitor Ku’s eyes reopened, and he murmured, “Since karma exists, and since extremes must be reversed, then if there is cause and effect, then there must also be effect and cause. I will use myself as the sacrifice for this karma, realizing the effect to absolve the cause. Let’s see if this forbidden region can handle me.”
With that, he closed his eyes again.
Soon after, the Karma Sanctum started to tremble. All around Progenitor Ku, towering trees rose up, each bearing fruits with his face. These fruits then transformed into spirals of karma that dropped down to suppress the man.
A faint smile touched Progenitor Ku’s lips. “It’s not enough. It’s still not enough. By reversing effect and cause, I have become intolerable. I will overturn this forbidden ground and bring down all of the karma that it can use to suppress me. Lord Lu, this is all I can do to help you. It’s possible that we’ll meet again in the future, though we also might not. I leave the Tianyuan Megaverse in your hands.”
Threads of karma fell onto Progenitor Ku, moving as though the man had committed some unspeakable crime.
This was the principle of Extremes Must Be Reversed. By attempting to reverse karma, Progenitor Ku had effectively challenged the very essence of the Karma Sanctum.
His path was completely different from Lu Yin’s.
Lu Yin had gained comprehension and mastery over karma, using its threads to gain glimpses of the future and understand the passage of time.
Progenitor Ku did not seek to master karma, but rather to overturn it. Ultimately, he would end up being rejected by karma.
He did this solely to attract all of the karma within the forbidden region into suppressing him, which would effectively remove the karma that was suppressing Lu Yin. After all, Master Qing Cao had used the karma of the forbidden region to suppress Lu Yin, not the Immortal’s own.
Master Qing Cao had merely borrowed karma to seal Lu Yin.
He had stated that he would merely seal Lu Yin for a century. Then, he had ignored Wei Nu and everyone else, including Progenitor Ku, who had been trapped within the forbidden region at that time.
Unbeknownst to the Immortal, Progenitor Ku had taken drastic measures.
Wei Nu arrived in the Mirari Realm, effectively resynchronizing it with the outside world. Her first visit meant that three years went by. Now, another five years had passed with her second entry.
She looked at the forbidden region in shock. What was happening? The Karma Sanctum was shrinking!
Once, Wei Nu had lured Lu Yin into the Mirari Realm, and then she had deliberately expanded the Karma Sanctum by using the River of Aeons. In doing so, she had trapped both Lu Yin and Progenitor Ku in the Karma Sanctum.
However, that same forbidden region was inexplicably shrinking now.
She raced inside. What was happening this time? Could Lu Yin have done something more?
She quickly saw Progenitor Ku, and she was dumbfounded by the sight. Was such a thing even possible?
If Lu Yin’s comprehension of karma had shattered all that the woman understood to be true, then the fact that Progenitor Ku had reversed karma in utter defiance of the essence of the Karma Sanctum itself went far beyond simply astonishing Wei Nu. What human could even conceive of such a thing?
Wei Nu stared at Progenitor Ku in a daze. This man’s talent and genius were certainly not inferior to Lu Yin’s, and yet Progenitor Ku had always been overlooked.
She had a feeling that the fact that Master Qing Cao had disregarded Progenitor Ku would prove to be his greatest mistake.
She had no intention of interfering with Progenitor Ku, and she instead simply watched to see if he would successfully release Lu Yin.
Outside of the Mirari Realm, between the Tianyuan Megaverse and the Spirit Nidus, Chu Yi launched off of a springboard, returning to the Tianyuan Megaverse with a pale face. “I have to make it in time! I have to!”
...
Two years later, someone arrived outside the stone gate.
This person was wearing a white robe, and the void around them warped and twisted, hiding their face. On the back of their robe was a semicircle that surrounded the character Yu.
The person’s arrival caused invisible ripples to spread out through the void like water.
Strangely, no matter where the ripples moved or spread, none of the Heavens Sect’s powerhouses standing guard inside or outside of the stone gate noticed a thing.
“So, is this the Tianyuan Megaverse? Hmm, that way,” the person muttered to themselves before suddenly vanishing.
Not far inside the stone gate, Ancestor Lu Yuan and Sovereign Dou Sheng were standing guard, but both of them were completely oblivious to the person’s arrival and departure.
Atop the walls of the Immemorial Citadel, Ce Wangtian was whining incessantly, “When will that crazy woman stop? I should have just died back then!”
Beside him, the ancestor of the super giants let out a mischievous chuckle. “Who told you to tell her that you kept her away from the Immemorial Citadel for her own good? Heh, you can never understand a woman’s heart! Heh heh heh.”
Some distance away, Mu Zhu glanced at the two men, but he said nothing.
Ce Wangtian casually picked his nose. “Whatever. If I can’t upset her, I’ll just avoid her. If she shows up, I’ll just leave.”
“Your shamelessness is truly infamous,” the giant remarked.
Ce Wangtian rolled his eyes.
