Star Odyssey-Chapter 3457: Waterspire Grove
Chapter 3457: Waterspire Grove
Bang!
A fight broke out in a corner of Ninerings City, and the people nearby started cheering loudly. The city allowed cultivators to fight, as the entire city was built from flowing water. No matter how much damage was done, unless the entire city was instantly evaporated, it was impossible for the city to be destroyed.
Ninerings City had a long history, and no one had ever heard of it being destroyed.
A man and a woman were facing off against each other, and the fierce fighting resumed.
“Bitch! How dare you insult my Ghostfire Domain! Today, I'll burn you with my flames!”
“Hmph! How many times has your Ghostfire Domain been defeated by my Forest Wing Sect? How do you still have the gall to complain?” The woman had wings growing from her back, and her face resembled a bird’s. It was clear that she had undergone a beast-form Spirit Rebirth.
Not far away, someone in a tavern sneered. “The Ghostfire Domain and the Forest Wing Sect? They’re both second-tier powers, though they have quite an intense enmity between them.”
“It’s rumored that the people of the Ghostfire Domain like to burn the wings of beast-form Spirit Rebirth cultivators to increase the strength of their own fire, while the Forest Wing Sect consists entirely of beast-form Spirit Rebirth cultivators with wings. It’s only natural that they’re at odds with the Ghostfire Domain.”
“Stil, the Ghostfire Domain can never defeat the Forest Wing Sect. That sect has the Primal Beastland behind it, so why would they be afraid of the Ghostfire Domain?”
...
Ninerings City was bustling, and the most crowded section was the Waterspire Grove, though it was also the quietest place. No one dared to act recklessly in that section of the city, as those who entered it needed to show respect to the ancestors represented by the water spires.
People came and left, letting out the occasional exclamations of surprise.
“Isn’t that Little Threeheaded Fiend? He actually came?”
“It really is Little Threeheaded Fiend! He’s the descendant of the Primal Beastland’ reclusive powerhouse, Threeheaded Fiend. Supposedly, he’s one of the most powerful geniuses of his generation, and he even managed to impress his ancestor, Threeheaded Fiend. He was praised, and it was said that Little Threeheaded Fiend might one day surpass Threeheaded Fiend himself, becoming the strongest in their line. What’s he doing here? Is he seeking death?”
“Exactly! The Grandverse Manor’s Third Boss is coming, and if this guy offends someone here, he might be instantly taken out. He can’t even complain to anyone, as not even the Primal Beastland has been able to suppress the Grandverse Manor.”
“Shh! Don’t let him hear you!”
The Waterspire Grove consisted of 100 water spires, each glimmering with multiple colors under the glow of the light. They were beautiful to look at.
Little Threeheaded Fiend had taken on a human form, and he glanced at the Waterspire Grove before turning around and walking away. When he passed by the group of people who had been discussing him, he stomped down, causing the water below to tremble. Instantly, everyone in the group spat out blood.
They were all shocked, and they immediately tried to flee.
Little Threeheaded Fiend’s expression grew cold, and he raised a hand to capture everyone.
At that moment, a clear voice rang out, “Little Threeheaded Fiend, this is the Waterspire Grove! Show some respect to our ancestors.”
Little Threeheaded Fiend stopped. He looked in the direction of the voice, but then he simply sneered. “You can quit that act with me! Would your Heavenspire ever show respect in the Waterspire Grove?”
“I and Heavenspire show respect in every corner of the Spirit Nidus.” The newcomer was a woman, and her appearance seemed to make the Waterspire Grove glow even brighter. Multicolored light illuminated everything, and the nearby crowd was briefly stunned by the woman’s appearance. She was truly beautiful.
Her name was Ru Mu, and she was from Heavenspire. Those who saw her referred to her as “a painting in the fray.” This was to indicate that she was as beautiful as a painting, and yet had entered the dirty world of cultivators.
Her eyes held a certain sharpness, though her bearing was elegant and noble. Somehow, she looked like she both belonged to the world of cultivators and also not.
Her beauty was unrivaled. The only ones who could surpass her were the Ascendant Hall’s Absolute Duo.
Little Threeheaded Fiend just sneered and did not bother saying anything more to Ru Mu. He instead continued his attack, throwing a palm strike towards the fleeing group of people.
They were horrified to see the attack, and they regretted their words. Even their quietest murmurs had been overheard.
Ru Mu casually waved a hand, blocking Little Threeheaded Fiend’s strike. Her eyes glinted with a harsh light as she met his gaze.
Little Threeheaded Fiend’s expression turned vicious. “You dare to stop me?”
Ru Mu replied calmly, “We are in the Waterspire Grove. If you wish to fight, do so elsewhere.”
“Who are you to stop me?” Little Threeheaded Fiend shouted angrily as he attacked Ru Mu. Both of them were Spirit Warriors, but Little Threeheaded Fiend’s palm strike was earth-shattering, and it carried immense power. Ru Mu’s brow furrowed. Every move she made displayed grace as she effortlessly neutralized Little Threeheaded Fiend’s overwhelming power.
“Raging about won’t bring your ancestor back. The Grandverse Manor’s Third Boss will soon arrive. Do you want to draw his attention?” Ru Mu challenged.
Little Threeheaded Fiend’s eyes flared, and a bloodlust blazed in them that had never been seen before.
The Grandverse Manor. They were the ones who had killed his ancestor, weakening his family in the Primal Beastland. If not for that, why would Little Threeheaded Fiend have come to Ninerings City?
There were certain individuals who did not need to gain fame at the Nine Horizons, as they were already known across the entire Spirit Nidus.
Unfortunately, recent developments dictated that Little Threeheaded Fiend needed to do something to save his family.
As for the Grandverse Manor’s Third Boss, Little Threeheaded Fiend did not dare to provoke that man. Even if the beast wanted that person dead, he understood that the gap between them was simply too vast. After all, even the Primal Beastland as a whole had done nothing to retaliate.
“What about you? Heavenspire forbids their people from marrying outsiders, and yet the Grandverse Manor is openly breaking that edict. Why are you here?” Little Threeheaded Fiend pulled back from Ru Mu while still staring at her.
People nearby were also curious. It was unexpected for both Heavenspire and the Primal Beastland to send people to the Nine Domains’ Sun Cycle. After all, if the Third Boss got upset, these people would be his first targets.
Ru Mu gave a slight smile. “I will meet the Third Boss. Do you want to join me?”
Little Threeheaded Fiend clenched a fist. Join her? He did not dare. He had not expected Ru Mu to be so bold.
However, after thinking matters through, he realized that Heavenspire had never made any moves against the Grandverse Manor. Even the incident in the Alin Domain had been done in secret, and the matter had not been exposed.
There was a sudden wave of noise from the distance, and everyone turned to look. Another important figure had arrived.
“It’s Young Master Yu!” someone exclaimed.
Ru Mu was taken aback at the news. Had even the Wisdom Domain sent someone?
Little Threeheaded Fiend also looked over. The Wisdom Domain’s heir had arrived, and no one could ignore him.
Especially since Young Master Yu had not arrived alone; he was also accompanied by Mr. Li.
Mr. Li was the guardian of the Wisdom Domain’s heir, and he was an extraordinary powerhouse. His arrival shook Ninerings City.
Ru Mu’s eyes flickered, and she moved towards Young Master Yu.
Little Threeheaded Fiend snorted disdainfully before turning and walking in the opposite direction.
In another corner of the city, a man’s lips curled up into a smile as he watched Little Threeheaded Fiend. His experiences might be worth collecting.
The most important thing was the Third Boss. He had to find a way to collect his experiences.
...
In outer space, there was a group of people that always drew attention.
Lu Yin casually munched on fruit, accepting it directly from Palace Master Yao's hand. This fruit gave off a unique fragrance.
There was no denying that the woman was quite easy on the eyes. It was understandable why so many were infatuated with her.
Cai Keqing was too cold, and yet many were drawn to her as well.

Atop the sedan, Astral Anura yawned, feeling quite bored.
The Megalith and Pridebeast continued to carry the sedan, showing no signs of fatigue, though neither of them dared to show any hint of exhaustion. Whenever they noticed someone staring at them, they immediately would give the individual a thumbs-up, which had rendered Old Tao speechless for some time.
“Young Master, Ninerings City is up ahead, though the astral phenomena itself will remain invisible until the Nine Horizons begins,” Old Tao explained.
Lu Yin peered into the distance. “Things are quite lively. I’m really looking forward to this. Also, I see some familiar faces.”
He could sense Mr. Li’s presence. He was the guardian sent by the Wisdom Domain’s hidden heir to protect the public heir.
Lu Yin intended to find an opportunity to push the Dukkhan into his Champions’ Stage Hell to strengthen his Karmic Dao.
In addition to Mr. Li, there were also other top experts hiding in Ninerings City. Lu Yin had a feeling that he could obtain rather significant rewards in this place.
Suddenly, Ninerings City fell silent. Countless eyes looked up at the starry sky. The group that they had been awaiting was about to arrive.
Most people were present for the Nine Horizons, but some had come to observe Lu Yin and his entourage.
When Lu Yin arrived in Ninerings City, he drew almost every eye in the city. As for him, his gaze turned towards the Waterspire Grove.
The sedan was carried all the way to the Waterspire Grove with Lu Yin lounging in it. He continued to snack on fruit without saying a word. He simply observed the Waterspire Grove.
No one knew his intentions.
On the far side of the Waterspire Grove, Young Master Yu and Mr. Li were both watching Lu Yin.
From across the Waterspire Grove, Young Master Yu nodded to Lu Yin. There was no sign of any anger from being thrown off of Boundless.
Intelligent people knew better than to reveal their emotions.
Mr. Li was the same, though he felt even more apprehensive than Young Master Yu.
The older man’s Dukkha was still unstable after his brief battle with the Third Boss. The young man wielded incredible power, and extreme caution was necessary when meeting him.
Behind Young Master Yu were several young elites, including Ru Mu. They all watched the events play out. Was that young man the Grandverse Manor’s Third Boss? He was so young, and yet he had managed to defeat Palace Master Yao, Yu Shan, and several others. Just how had he cultivated?
Lu Yin suddenly moved. He reached out, took a piece of fruit from Palace Master Yao's hand, and then tossed it in the air, casually throwing it at Young Master Yu.
The red fruit left a streak of light as it tumbled through the air above the Waterspire Grove, heading straight for its target.
Young Master Yu's pupils shrank. His vision was occupied entirely by the approaching red light. He was unable to move. He could not avoid it. He could not even escape.
A hand appeared in front of Young Master Yu, already holding the fruit. Mr. Li had intervened.
All the eyes near the Waterspire Grove were focused on the scene. No one had expected Lu Yin to suddenly attack Young Master Yu.
The Wisdom Domain held a special status within the Spirit Nidus, and no matter where Young Master Yu went, he was always treated with respect.
Attacked? It had been a long, long time since such a thing had happened.
No one dared to attack the Wisdom Domain’s disciples, with the exception of those who were listed on the Black Spirit List as public enemies.
Ru Mu was startled. She had not expected Lu Yin to suddenly attack Young Master Yu. Was this Third Master truly that unruly? He broke laws and endorsed taboos, repeatedly provoked the Ascendant Hall, and had captured Palace Master Yao. Every action he took seemed to specifically challenge the limits of what the Spirit Nidus could tolerate. What level of confidence did the Grandverse Manor possess?
Ru Mu suddenly regretted her decision of publicly announcing her intention to speak with the Third Boss. This person was too audacious, and he had no reservations at all. That made him all the more terrifying.
Mr. Li lowered his hand while staring at Lu Yin. Apprehension filled the older man’s eyes. “We should leave now. He might actually attack.”
Young Master Yu said nothing. His expression returned to normal, though he mentally relived the scenes that had occurred aboard Boundless. No, while this Third Boss appeared to be a reckless individual, he was actually subtle and scheming in reality. He was nothing like the persona he displayed.
“Let’s go,” Mr. Li urged. The longer he was confronted by Lu Yin, the more uneasy Mr. Li felt. He feared that, eventually, his Dukkha would collapse, and he would regress from being a Dukkhan. That would be a catastrophic loss.
A Dukkhan served as the guardian for the Wisdom Domain’s heirs; was such an expert really just some lackey? Of course not. Mr. Li intended to take advantage of the Wisdom Domain to gain an opportunity to break through and achieve Immortality.
Resetting either the Consciousness or the Tianyuan Megaverses would allow experts from the Spirit Nidus to enter Immortality. That was something that the High Seraph had promised.
Was that really true?
Anyone capable of a bit of thought would understand that the situation was not nearly that simple. Mr. Li did not know what the High Seraph was actually planning, and he did not want to get close to the High Seraph. M. Li’s only path forward was with the Wisdom Domain.
He had approached the Wisdom Domain and agreed to serve as a guardian for the domain’s heirs in order to gain an opportunity that the Wisdom Domain would provide. That was the price of his services, as his goal was to become an Immortal.
That meant that Lu Yin was someone Mr. Li absolutely did not want to confront.
