Chapter 3488: Su Shidao

Lu Yin did not stop Hu Wu. She and Tian Ya were not bowing to Lu Yin, but to the fact that he would be the one dealing with High Seraph.

Regardless of if it was him or someone else standing before them, even if the couple were enemies of the Grandverse Manor, they would still bow.

"Third Boss, I wonder, would your Grandverse Manor welcome us?" Hu Wu asked.

Tian Ya glanced at Hu Wu. He had not expected her to want to join the Grandverse Manor.

While joining the Grandverse Manor and wanting to deal with the High Seraph might seem the same, they were actually different.

The High Seraph could not represent the entire Spirit Nidus. Even if he was dealt with, someone else could become the next High Seraph. Hu Wu and Tian Ya were merely enemies of the current High Seraph.

Joining the Grandverse Manor was very different.

The Grandverse Manor represented the Tianyuan Megaverse. Upon joining it, one would become an enemy of the entire Spirit Nidus. Even if High Seraph was dealt with, anyone who had joined the Grandverse Manor would still ultimately be rejected by the Spirit Nidus.

Such things were very different concepts.

However, Tian Ya did not stop Hu Wu.

Her personality might appear reckless, but she simply had her own thoughts. If that were not the case, she would not have pushed Tian Ya to attack the Ascendant Hall for so many years. Hu Wu looked impulsive, but beneath that impulsiveness lay wisdom.

Lu Yin stared at Hu Wu. "You want to join my Grandverse Manor?"

Hu Wu nodded.

Lu Yin said, "The Grandverse Manor will welcome you happily, but have you truly thought things through?"

Hu Wu's expression grew serious. "We will never regret it."

Tian Ya also spoke up. "We will never regret it."

Lu Yin nodded and smiled. "Alright. Honestly, our Tianyuan Megaverse has never considered destroying any of the three megaverse. The Grandverse Manor is happy to welcome anyone, based on their actions, rather than their associations or past. You two are very welcome."

"It won’t be just us," Hu Wu added. "Throughout the years, while we haven't actively sought out information regarding the outside world, there are still some people that we've interacted with, some of whom have become friends. Those able to connect with us share similar experiences, which means they are generally not accepted by most of the Spirit Nidus. Can they also join the Grandverse Manor?"

Lu Yin smiled. "The Grandverse Manor’s rules are simple: we only distinguish between good and evil, and we do not care about a person’s past. As long as a person’s virtue is ensured, anyone can join."

Shortly thereafter, Hu Wu and Tian Ya left.

They looked back at the landmass. This farewell would once again see their lives changed.

Last time, their lives had changed when the Old Man Under the Stars had died. That incident had caused them to live the rest of their lives with hatred. This time, they were waiting for revenge.

"Why join the Grandverse Manor?" Tian Ya asked.

Hu Wu answered calmly, "Do you think that he told us the truth or a lie?"

"We’ve already confirmed what he’s told us with others. If he had been lying, we wouldn’t have returned to him," Tian Ya said.

Hu Wu looked at the man. "Have you still not understood anything after Grandpa's death? The megaverse is a very cruel place. One moment, you can be close friends, and the next, life and death can separate you.

"He represents the Tianyuan Megaverse. He founded the Grandverse Manor, and he is going up against the Ascendant Hall. While it looks like he’s in a deathmatch against the High Seraph, what if the High Seraph abandons the goal of resetting the Tianyuan Megaverse?"

Tian Ya looked away with a sigh.

"What if this person also wants to achieve Immortality by resetting a megaverse?

"The Immortal realm is every cultivator’s dream. By reaching that level, one becomes free from life and death. The rise and fall of other creatures or even megaverses will no longer matter to such people.

"He could actually recreate another Tianyuan Megaverse.

"Tian Ya, you're too naive about the world of cultivators. The more likely someone can actually deal with the High Seraph, the more qualified they will be to work with the High Seraph. Anyone like that is an absolute monster. The megaverses, other cultivators, and even humanity as a whole are all nothing more than the pieces of a game that those monsters play. They are the ones controlling the board."

Tian Ya could not hold back a question. "What does any of that have to do with joining the Grandverse Manor? If you join, will you be able to stop them?"

Determination entered Hu Wu's eyes. "At least by getting closer, we will be able to see things clearly."

...

Back on the landmass, Lu Yin was still in the peach garden. He had not expected Hu Wu and Tian Ya to ask to join the Grandverse Manor.

It was clear to Lu Yin that Hu Wu was wary of him. While it might appear as if she had proactively joined the Grandverse Manor, the fact that she had done so really indicated that she did not trust Lu Yin.

Tian Ya was not blinded by hatred. He had his own perspective of things.

Hu Wu was blinded by her hatred, but that did not make her a fool.

The two of them would be added to the Grandverse Manor’s strength. As for their opinion of the organization or even of Lu Yin himself, that no longer mattered.

Additionally, gaining them meant that the Spirit Nidus had lost two powerful cultivators.

"Third Boss, congratulations! The Grandverse Manor has just gained two more powerful experts," Old Tao congratulated.

Lu Yin looked as indifferent as ever. "You are also the Grandverse Manor’s Second Boss, so you should be the one who’s congratulated."

Being called Second Boss disgusted Old Tao. He had never been able to enjoy the benefits of that title, yet he still carried the associated burden.

Things would be fine, as long as the Grandverse Manor continued to stand strong. But the moment it faltered, Old Tao knew he would become one of the most unlucky people alive.

"Next?" Lu Yin said.

Old Tao trembled. "Third Boss, you still want to find more powerful cultivators?"

Lu Yin shrugged. "There are still a great number of powerful experts. If all of them obey the High Seraph and come after me, then the Grandverse Manor might be destroyed. Right now, while we can still deal with them one by one, things are far more manageable."

Old Tao hesitated.

Lu Yin looked over at the old man. "What's wrong?"

Old Tao said, "There are some powerful historical experts who are still alive. Some of them are awaiting death in the Gate of Laws, having chosen to make a final contribution by helping to construct a sequence base. Others have gone into hiding because they are unwilling to donate their final strength, but they are also waiting to die. Some of those in hiding also want to fight for the title of Seraph.

"No matter how many years might have passed, those lingering powerhouses will always have limited numbers.

"We've already dealt with Qian, the Worryless Elder, and Hu Wu and Tian Ya. I don’t believe that there are anymore powerful experts that want to compete for the title of Seraph. But if there are, then they're hidden within powerful organizations, like the seven major powers. For example, the Phantom Reach has such an individual. It doesn't really matter whether or not we search for them in the outside world."

Lu Yin stared at the old man. "You’re talking a lot, but what’s going on? Is my next target going to be a tricky one?"

Old Tao glanced at Lu Yin, and then he said in a low voice. "Su Shidao."

"Su Shidao?" Palace Master Yao and Cai Keqing were both taken aback.

Lu Yin arched a brow. "Sounds like a big shot."

"Why have him look for Su Shidao?" Palace Master Yao asked in confusion.

Old Tao forced a smile, but it was bitter. "He is on the list provided by the Phantom Reach. They hope to use the Third Boss to eliminate a few experts who are likely to compete for the title of Seraph. That was the case of the last few, and Su Shidao is the last name on that list."

"Su Shidao won’t fight for the title of Seraph," Palace Master Yao protested.

Lu Yin frowned. He won’t compete for the title of Seraph?

Old Tao nodded. "That's why I suggested that the Third Boss doesn’t seek him out. Su Shidao will not join the next competition to become a Seraph. The Phantom Reach placed him at the end of the list because they want Su Shidao to eliminate the Third Boss. Since Su Shidao will no longer fight for the position of Seraph, the Third Boss is actually more likely to do so.

"The Phantom Reach has a business of assassination, but besides that, they also scheme and plot. This is one of their schemes."

Lu Yin was not concerned by the Phantom Reach’s plans. The entire Spirit Nidus was his enemy, so it was only expected for its inhabitants to plot against him. However, he was also interested in this Su Shidao.

Does the Phantom Reach actually believe that they can use Su Shidao to deal with me? Aren’t they afraid that, if he fails, I’ll go after the Phantom Reach itself?

Clearly, they are very confident in Su Shidao.

"Who is Su Shidao?"

Old Tao’s expression grew serious. "He’s an ancient monster who is overcoming Dukkha."

Lu Yin was not surprised. When it came to combat power, Ortusers and Dukkhans were essentially the same. The distinction in realms was not determined by anything associated with strength. Of course, there were also many Dukkhans who were significantly stronger than Ortusers, but that was due to insights that they had gained while overcoming Dukkhan, not from entering a different stage of cultivation.

All of the targets that Lu Yin had been given so far had been Ortusers, at best. They were people who were qualified to fight for the title of Seraph, but the true candidates who could actually seize the title were all powerful Dukkhans.

How could there be a competition for the position of Seraph without a Dukkhan participating?

Such powerful experts might stay hidden within the seven major powers.

There were quite a few powerful experts throughout the megaverse, but such people were regarded as independent cultivators.

"The last time there was a competition for the title of Seraph, Seraph Meng Sang won, but at that time, Su Shidao made a move. He fought against Meng Sang, and if not for a bit of bad luck, Meng Sang would have been the one to lose.

"Many claim that Su Shidao’s weakness is not his combat power, but rather his luck. He is truly powerful enough to rival the Seven Seraphs, and he might be even stronger than people like Seraph Meng Sang and Seraph Bao Qi.

"However, after that last battle, Su Shidao announced that he would no longer strive for the title of Seraph. When the position opened up and Bao Qi succeeded in becoming a Seraph, Su Shidao never participated at all. If he had, there is no doubt that he would have taken Bao Qi’s place as the newest Seraph.

"He is absolutely as strong as the Seven Seraphs."

Lu Yin listened calmly. As strong as the Seraphs, huh? It’s not like I haven’t dealt with such people before.

Seraph Meng Sang had already lost to Lu Yin, as had Bao Qi and Seraph Yi Shang.

The Spirit Nidus still had not yet seen Lu Yin’s true power.

He had not used his full abilities in any of his previous battles. If he had, Qian, the Worryless Elder, and even Hu Wu and Tian Ya would have never had so much as a chance to attack.

Lu Yin could have destroyed any of them with his consciousness alone.

He had proceeded forward step by step, gradually revealing more and more of his strength to the Spirit Nidus. Ultimately, he would face the High Seraph himself, but only after arming himself with the unshakable confidence of certain victory. That was Lu Yin’s path forward.

Hu Wu and Tian Ya had already seen this for themselves. Their Thunderclap—Skyrend was a very powerful attack that they had developed specifically to kill the High Seraph. It was because their attack had not managed to injure Lu Yin in the slightest that the couple had realized that Lu Yin might be a freak on the same level as the High Seraph.

Old Tao still did not understand what level Lu Yin’s strength had reached.

"Su Shidao is known as the Celestial Grandmaster. He is the Spirit Nidus’s greatest Spirit Treasure Grandmaster. His Epoch Blade can cut through anything, and his swordsmanship has intimidated the entire Spirit Nidus. His strength is formidable, and even the High Seraph has praised him. Of the Seven Seraphs, few are able to actually defeat Su Shidao," Palace Master Yao added.

Lu Yin’s eyes flickered. "Celestial Grandmaster?"

Sourceboxes existed in all megaverses, not just his. The people of the Spirit Nidus referred to sourceboxes as spirit treasures.

A Spirit Treasure Grandmaster was the same as an Array Grandmasters in the Tianyuan Megaverse.

Was Su Shidao really the most powerful Array Grandmaster in the Spirit Nidus? That surpassed Lu Yin’s expectations.

He had not done any lockbreaking in a long, long time.

Old Tao’s expression grew serious. "That’s correct. Su Shidao is the Celestial Spirit Treasure Grandmaster, and he rules over one of the thirty-six domains, the Spirit Treasure Domain, while also presiding over the Spirit Treasure Society. He wields immense influence throughout the entire Spirit Nidus.

"If not for all this, the Phantom Reach would not be confident in using Su Shidao to eliminate the Third Boss.

"Third Boss, if possible, we should avoid antagonizing Su Shidao. He won’t fight for the title of Seraph, which means that he’s of no threat to us."

Lu Yin nonchalantly asked, "Where is Bao Qi? Has there been any news?"

Old Tao hesitated again.
