Star Odyssey-Chapter 3665: Ascending To The Heavens

Many people knew that the Wisdom Domain was even older than the High Seraph. That domain had risen during the same era as the invincible being, or possibly even earlier. The Wisdom Domain’s announcement silenced the people who refused to believe that Lu Yin was the invincible being’s disciple. Regardless of whether or not they wanted to believe it, they had to.

The entire Spirit Nidus was focused on the Hundred Grasses Domain. It was as if they could see Seraph Lu in that direction, supported by the faith of countless people throughout the Spirit Nidus.

In the Ascendant Hall, the High Seraph stood with his hands clasped behind his back, staring off into the distance.

His mind started to race.

Lan requested an audience. “My lord, shall I go to the Wisdom Domain on your behalf?”

“There’s no need.”

Lan was puzzled. The Wisdom Domain had openly submitted to Boundless, and other rumors were spreading across the entire Spirit Nidus. Why were they not stopping this? Was it possible that the rumors were actually true?

Lan stared blankly at the Apex Palace. Was it possible that Seraph Lu really was the invincible being’s disciple?

In the Primal Beastland, countless beast-form Spirit Rebirths let out deep roars. Old Salamander was staring at the Heaven’s Seal in his hand. He was also rather confused at this moment. Is he really the invincible being’s disciple? Yong Heng had made me certain that Lu Yin was from the Tianyuan Megaverse. Why would the invincible being accept someone from that megaverse as their disciple?

In the Spirit Treasure Domain, Su Shidao emotionally commented, “They really know how to play, each and every one of them.”

From now on, the Wisdom Domain will only follow Boundless, and he will do whatever you ask him to do.”

Lu Yin lowered the spirit cloudstone, muttering, “What’s going on?”

That old man has to be scheming something. Submitting to Boundless? I don’t believe it.

At that same moment, Old Yu arrived just outside of the Roaming South Realm. His expression was solemn as he moved towards the valley.

As the news spread across the megaverse, Old Tao had definitely already reached out to Lu Yin. However, Old Yu had never made any attempts to send a message to Lu Yin. Instead, the old man was paying him a personal visit.

Lu Yin was lounging on his recliner as he watched Old Yu arrived.

As soon as he arrived in front of Lu Yin, Old Yu took a deep breath. He looked conflicted as he offered a respectful bow. “Greetings, Seraph Lu.”

Lu Yin laughed. “Old Yu, you’ve never shown me such courtesy before.”

Old Yu did not rise as he replied, “With the Ru family gone, my Wisdom Domain’s support in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse is crumbling. In comparison, not only is Seraph Lu the invincible being’s disciple, but you have also attracted the attention of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. If I can follow you, this old man is willing to do anything.”

“Follow me? Are you trying to tell me that those rumors spreading around were started by your Wisdom Domain?” Lu Yin asked.

Old Yu replied, “It is a fact that the Wisdom Domain has submitted to Boundless, but my Wisdom Domain has nothing to do with the spreading news regarding your identity.”

Lu Yin stared at Old Yu. “How do you know that I’ve caught the attention of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse?”

Old Yu respectfully answered, “A representative of a Lesser Sancte has visited the Wisdom Domain. While it looked like they were trying to recruit Yong Heng, their ultimate goal was actually you, Seraph Lu. I would like to congratulate you on drawing the attention of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. You are destined to become the next High Seraph.

“The Wisdom Domain owes its very existence to the invincible being, and you are their disciple, Seraph Lu. Therefore, the Wisdom Domain is willing to serve you.”

Lu Yin frowned. “Yet you don’t actually seem to belong to the Spirit Nidus, which is what you told me yourself.”

“Where one belongs doesn't matter. What matters is where one is able to live. The Ru family was destroyed despite being the family of a Lesser Sancte. They were completely unable to mount any resistance. What can my Wisdom Domain hope to accomplish?”

Lu Yin slowly smiled as he stared at Old Yu. “Have you really submitted to me?”

Old Yu bowed low once more. “Only if you are willing to accept me, Seraph Lu.”

“Of course I’ll accept you. Still, I need to have some sort of token.”

“Please, Lord Seraph Lu, give me your orders,” Old Yu agreed, as he had no choice. He had allied himself with Yue Ya, and yet the Lesser Sancte had required Old Yu to get close to Lu Yin. For that, a price would have to be paid.

Lu Yin crooked a finger, and Qing Xiao arrived with tea and snacks.

Lu Yin took a bite, still staring at Old Yu. “Where is the Nine Odysseys Megaverse?”

He had asked Jiu Xian this question after the battle at the source of the Fu River, but the woman had simply pointed upward and said that the megaverse was over their heads. At the time, Old Yu had commented that her answer was not entirely wrong.

Lu Yin had received an answer, but he still did not understand it.

Old Yu looked up at the stars in the sky. “The Nine Odysseys Megaverse transcends the Spirit Nidus. I don’t know how it was accomplished, but it is indeed above us.”

“Why are you so certain?” Lu Yin asked.

“Because the only way to reach the Nine Odysseys Megaverse is by ascending to the heavens.”

“How does one ascend to heaven?”

“That depends on whether the Nine Odysseys Megaverse offers any guidance. If it does, one can ascend. Without that, not even the High Seraph can reach it.”

“What is your exact relationship with the Ru family?”

Old Yu bowed and apologized, “Before this, we were neither friends nor enemies, Seraph Lu. Because of that, certain matters were too complicated to explain, and there were even some deceptions involved. I now offer my apologies for those matters.”

“There’s no need for that. Just explain things clearly.”

“The Wisdom Domain was placed in the Spirit Nidus by the Ru family to keep an eye on the Ascendant Hall.”

Lu Yin laughed. “You once told me that your Wisdom Domain sent the Ru family into Heavenspire in order to keep an eye on High Seraph. Now, you’re telling me that the truth is the exact opposite.”

“Please forgive me, Seraph Lu.”

“Since the Ru family is gone, why aren’t you looking for someone else to support you?”

“I don’t need to hide anything from you, Seraph Lu. The Greater Sancti rule over everything in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. The Ru family controlled Heavenspire and oversaw the Wisdom Domain by the Greater Sancti’s decree. With the Ru family gone, anyone who takes action will be forced to pay the price. For that reason, no one in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse will accept the Wisdom Domain. The only way is for another Lesser Sancte to replace the Ru family. Even then, that Lesser Sancte will most likely prefer to establish a new organization, or maybe reveal one that has been long hidden within the Spirit Nidus. They will not work with my Wisdom Domain, which is too ambitious.”

“If the Wisdom Domain was established by the invincible being at the very beginning, shouldn’t it be considered a part of the Spirit Nidus?”

“That is true, but ever since the invincible being disappeared, things have changed for my Wisdom Domain. We were once considered a part of the Spirit Nidus, but we have since become a subordinate of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.”

“Aren’t you afraid that the invincible being might deal with you?”

Old Yu fell silent. After a long moment, he softly replied, “The invincible being has been gone for too many years. While his mere existence is enough to prevent the Nine Odysseys Megaverse from overstepping, if the Nine Odysseys Megaverse truly intends to do something, then the invincible being might not be able to stop them.”

“Despite that, you still want to submit to me?” Lu Yin asked in confusion.

Old Yu’s voice grew helpless. “If the Wisdom Domain does not find someone to stand behind us, then the High Seraph could wipe us out by merely flipping his hand.

“Given that you are supported by the invincible being and have already accomplished so much, it seems possible that the invincible being will make a move. I, for one, am not seeking assurance that my Wisdom Domain will endure. I simply wish to stay alive myself. That is my entire goal.”

Lu Yin understood that the old man was trying to survive because no one in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse would accept him. After so many years of clashing with the High Seraph without the personal strength to stay alive, Old Yu was ultimately forced to rely on someone else at the end of the day.

“Are you not afraid of the Spirit Nidus attacking Boundless? Aren’t you worried that I might not actually be the invincible being’s disciple? Aren’t you afraid that the High Seraph might break through and become an Immortal?”

Old Yu gave a wry smile. “More than that, I fear that the Ru family will be followed by the Wisdom Domain, and...”

The old man paused and stared intently at Lu Yin. “Seraph Lu is only in the Spirit Ancestor realm.”

After the battle with Emperor Wu, one of the questions that Old Yu had asked Lu Yin was about his cultivation level. It had been the old man’s final question. He was still unable to believe Lu Yin’s answer, as it had shocked him more than anything else.

The reason for his shock was that, when he thought about things, Lu Yin’s answer was not completely unacceptable.

Lu Yin tapped a finger on the arm of his chair, but he said nothing. He instead closed his eyes and started thinking.

Old Yu did not move.

Yuan Qi was watching from the distance, feeling rather conflicted.

For many people in the Spirit Nidus, the Wisdom Domain stood above even the Ascendant Hall. This was because the Wisdom Domain represented the history of the Spirit Nidus. Despite that, Yuan Qi was watching the ruler of the Wisdom Domain act like Lu Yin’s subordinate.

For someone from the Spirit Nidus, it was hard to accept this sight.

There was no denying that the Tianyuan Megaverse was at a disadvantage, or that the Spirit Nidus perched high above and believed that they could reset the Tianyuan Megaverse at any time. The Origin Progenitor had been outmaneuvered, and the Tianyuan’s potential had been curbed and limited. The Spirit Nidus’s overall strength far surpassed the Tianyuan, so how had things taken such a turn?

Qing Yun and Qing Xiao were similarly unable to accept what they were seeing.

After some time, Lu Yin opened his eyes. “Is the Wisdom Domain really willing to do anything for me?”

Old Yu answered without hesitation, “I shall follow your orders, Seraph Lu.”

“Alright, then go and ally yourself with Yue Ya,” Lu Yin commanded in a low voice.

Old Yu was completely stunned and bewildered.

Lu Yin met the old man’s eyes. “Don’t tell me that you didn’t know that Lesser Sancte Yue Ya was the one who wiped out the Ru family. He is also the one who’s been keeping an eye on me. You have to have known about this.”

Old Yu did know this. After all, he was the one who had informed Yue Ya of certain matters, such as the fact that Lu Yin had been cooperating with Yong Heng and receiving information through the man.

Lu Yin knew that Old Yu had to be aware of various matters.

"Aside from submitting to me, you have another option: join Yue Ya."

Old Yu was at a loss for words. He stared at Lu Yin in confusion. Could he be saying this because he knows that I’ve been working with Yue Ya? Is he mocking me? Has everything been said just to toy with me?

Lu Yin stared at Old Yu. "Go join Yue Ya. Tell him that you are only putting on a show of submitting to me, and then share some of what you know about me with him. He will believe you."

Old Yu remained stunned for a while. Finally, he asked in a hoarse voice, "Why?"

"I want to know exactly why Yue Ya is trying to get me to go to Heavenspire," Lu Yin replied.

Old Yu let out a breath, as he realized that Lu Yin did know that Lesser Sancte Yue Ya was trying to lure him to Heavenspire, but he did not know the reason why.

"You should have already guessed the truth. Emperor Wu most likely received the Nine Heavens Transformation from Yue Ya. That Lesser Sancte was using Emperor Wu against the High Seraph, but now that Emperor Wu is dead, Yue Ya wants me to go to Heavenspire. I suspect that this is also a scheme against the High Seraph, but I cannot take the risk. You should first pretend to join him so that you can learn his intentions. After that, report back to me," Lu Yin ordered.
