Tsukiha Yaiba approached quietly and rested her head on the woman’s lap. The coldness on her face melted away as it was replaced by an unprecedented gentleness.

“Mother, I can visit you anytime now,” she said softly. “I’ve fulfilled the promise I made to you ten years ago. I finally have the power to avenge you and Father.”

She smiled, but within that smile, tears glistened.
