Stars In His Eyes-Chapter 1785: Their Happy Times 17
After listening, Ding Father let out a long sigh. He understood his daughter; Ding Jinshi might be more inclined towards Western independence and autonomy because of her studies abroad, unlike most families in China who tend to focus on fulfilling traditional family roles.
"Since you’ve made up your mind, I naturally have nothing to say. The path is for you and your husband to walk; walk in a way that makes you happy," Ding Father ultimately did not express disagreement. He was also pleased that Ding Long consulted him before making a decision, showing him respect.
Ding Jinshi did not know what Ding Long discussed with her father. She only realized when she got home in the evening that the two brothers and her daughter were already reconciled.
"How strange!" Ding Jinshi laughed, "Only two hours and they’re no longer angry? Already calling each other brother affectionately?"
Upon entering, she saw her daughter feeding the two younger brothers, showing no sign of having been upset.
"Exactly, when Ding Long first arrived in the afternoon, Baobei’s eyes were still red, not wanting to talk. Later, Ding Long went to the study with your dad, and I took the kids for a walk in the courtyard with the nanny. Unexpectedly, while I wasn’t looking, the four little ones got into a fight with other kids from the courtyard. Upon inquiry, I found out two boys from another family pushed Baobei and made her cry. Seeing their sister being bullied, the second and third brothers immediately joined their little uncle and fought back against the older boys, who ended up sitting on the ground crying. By the time we adults got there, the third brother was still pressing down on them, unwilling to get up!
"That’s how it should be! You can bully your own sister, but others can’t." Ding Father laughed heartily, not intending to scold his son for joining the two little ones in fighting.
Ding Jinshi comforted the two little rascals by patting their heads and smiling, while Ding Baobei proudly declared, "Mom, I still want to be good to my brothers! They are the best brothers in the world, and they will protect me from being bullied!"
After she spoke, the unmentioned Ding Family little nephew snorted in dissatisfaction. Ding Baobei quickly added, "Little uncle is also the best in the world! When I grow up, I will introduce my best friend to become his wife!"
Ding Baobei’s remark, a mix of childish innocence and premature maturity, amused everyone in the room!
"You said it! Your little uncle’s future wife depends on you! If he can’t find a wife, you must offer your best friend!" Ding Father laughed so much he couldn’t hold his teacup, the green tea inside gently trembling.
Thinking of his delightful granddaughter and grandsons, Ding Father felt reluctant about this family’s plan to immigrate abroad.
If they move overseas, he would likely only see his daughter and her family a few times a year instead of gathering weekly.
After having dinner at her father’s house, Ding Long brought his wife and daughter home. After settling the child to sleep, Ding Long called Ding Jinshi to their bedroom.
Ding Jinshi had just bathed, and as she approached Ding Long, he could smell the faint lavender scent from her shampoo and shower gel. Since having children, Ding Jinshi and Ding Long had essentially stopped using perfume, growing accustomed to this fresh and clean aroma.
"Judging by your look, you have something to discuss with me?" Ding Jinshi sat beside Ding Long with a smile. After being married for years and spending so much time together, Ding Jinshi understood her husband well.
