Starting With SSS-rank: I Get A New Skill Every Livestream-Chapter 79: Execute perfectly
The first thing Amanda did was file a full report on Ethan and send it to headquarters. She included everything he had done.
Using Genesis for personal gain was a punishable offense, and Ethan had used his magic to lock someone inside a cubicle. That alone warranted punishment, one that would strike where it hurt him most.
His reputation. His pride.
Ethan was a well known officer in the organisation, someone who has scored well during his days as a cadet and also, he has the highest rate of sucess as being a leader in Fortis.
For someone at his level to be using his powers to try bullying someone...yes, he would become nothing but a joke.
Amanda always knew Ethan was persistent, even strange at times, but she hadn’t imagined he would stoop this low. That he would dare to harm the one she loved.
The mere thought of him laying a hand on Kyle made her blood boil. At the very least, he deserved to lose a limb. If Kyle hadn’t stopped her, she might have ended up facing harsher punishment than Ethan himself for what she would have done to him.
The urge to punish him with her own hands gnawed at her. She wanted to stomp on his face, twist his fingers, rip out his tongue, crush his ankles. She wanted to hear him scream, to hear him beg.
"Amanda... you’re shaking."
Kyle’s voice cut through her thoughts as he held her hand.
She turned toward him, her eyes dark, stripped of emotion.
Kyle sighed. "If you’re going to react like this, I might regret telling you what happened."
Amanda shook her head. "You did the right thing by telling me everything, Kyle. He won’t be forgiven for this."
The bus continued forward, steady and fast, but her heart raced even faster.
She knew Kyle was claustrophobic. Something from his childhood had left him terrified of confined spaces.
And Ethan...haah...Ethan...why is that person even allowing his existence to burden this world? Shouldn’t he jump out of the window and hope for a truck or something to crush his skull?
Kyle’s shoulders relaxed. "That’s... reassuring."
Amanda blinked in surprise and turned toward him. "Hmm?"
Kyle lowered his gaze. "For a while, I started believing you didn’t care about me anymore. I thought your priorities had changed."
He had been wrong. Completely wrong.
He had assumed she had found someone better than him. And that thought hadn’t come from nowhere. Kyle had grown up in a household where his brother, who excelled at everything, was always favored over him.
But when he looked at her now... the way she was ready to tear Ethan apart without hesitation...
He could see it clearly.
Amanda hadn’t moved on from him at all.
The girl smiled faintly, some of the tension finally easing from her shoulders.
Leaning slightly against him, she murmured, "I have a lot to tell you, and a lot of questions to answer. And I promise, this time I won’t hide anything."
Kyle gave her a teasing grin. "Are you sure you can do that? Once you open up to me, you’ll become an accomplice of a rogue."
Amanda let out a soft chuckle, careful not to draw attention. No one could know that the rogue Nightwalker was none other than Kyle.
Lowering her voice, she whispered, "Don’t worry. If we get imprisoned, I’ll throw a tantrum and demand they keep us together."
Kyle shook his head, amused.
All the heavy thoughts weighing on him faded away because of this one person.
.....
[During the mission, I need no mistakes. Kill them. All of them. I want that entire region defenseless by the time I arrive. Incompetence will be rewarded with death. Do whatever it takes, but no one survives the day.]
The command echoed repeatedly through the radio.
The three who heard it exchanged glances. There was hesitation in their expressions, but no refusal. They couldn’t refuse.
One of them spoke up, "What about the recent reports of the rogue Nightwalker? And that girl, Layena?"
[Are you seriously worried about rumors and a little girl? You three are only good for chasing women and getting dragged on the battlefield.]
Their expressions turned cold as they stared at the radio. The insult stung, but none of them dared to talk back. They had no choice but to obey.
[Listen carefully. If you want to join the Leagues, you will execute this plan no matter what. Even if it means massacring every student, do it. I want no interruptions during the ambush. Do you understand?]
Silence followed.
One of them suddenly smashed the radio into pieces.
For a few moments, no one spoke.
Then one of them muttered, "It’s decided. We go all out. It’s either us or them this time. I can’t keep living like this, being humiliated over and over again."
Another nodded. "We set aside personal preferences and kill those brats."
The third added, "We use the distraction... and strike when they expect the least."
....
Myuri: [Waah! Such a beautiful place! It’s decided, this will be our honeymoon destination. What do you say, Kyle?]
Ethara: [Hmm... greenery, silence, and open space. Perfect for hunting and training.]
Tharos: [Zzz... I feel sleepy... Kyle... hug...]
Kyle chuckled as he read the messages. He had started a live stream the moment he stepped off the bus and began exploring the area.
The destination was a small resort booked by the university for the trip, nestled deep within a valley and surrounded by lush green hills.
The air felt cool and earthy. Faint birdsong echoed in the distance. And since there was only a single route leading here, the usual noise of traffic was completely absent.
Amanda was currently with the professor, helping with the arrangements, so Kyle decided to explore the place on his own for a while.
The resort wasn’t grand, but it was spacious. And since it wasn’t anywhere near the summer break, there were barely any visitors around. Being off-season probably helped the administration secure it at a lower price too.
One-eyed: [Hmm... great place to copulate.]
Kyle blinked, caught off guard. "What the hell? Who’s co-ugh...what are you even saying?"
One-eyed: [I mean, didn’t you say you’re going to make up with your lover now?]
Kyle flushed slightly. "Seriously? That’s what you think making up means? Ugh..."
Myuri: [Ignore the old man, Kyle. For him, making up always ends in the bedroom.]
Tharos: [Alert... perverted old man detected.]
One-eyed: [...]
Kyle rolled his eyes and shook his head before asking, "Didn’t Brawler come today?"
Ethara: [Don’t talk about her, Kyle. That woman is trouble.]
Kyle smiled. "Just because she doesn’t agree with me doesn’t make her bad. And it seemed like she got along with Myuri."
Myuri: [Me and that bitch? Oh, hell no. Even if she’s the last person alive in this world, I’d still call myself the last one standing.]
Kyle chuckled. It appeared they didn’t like her very much.
He did not usually judge people based on just a few exchanged words. Yes, she was direct and blunt, but people like that were often the most genuine and transparent.
After a brief pause, another message appeared.
One-eyed: [While WarHorse arranged an instructor for you, it would be problematic for you to go there repeatedly.]
Kyle hummed. "Does my travel to that space affect the real world too?"
One-eyed: [Not really, but we shouldn’t take risks.]
That message had barely settled before another appeared.
Myuri: [The old man is just scaring you, Kyle. Your training won’t affect anything except you.]
Ethara: [WarHorse will let you know the requirements to visit the training space. Don’t mind the geezer, Kyle.]
So there was a requirement to access the training room. Well, considering how much he had gained during those hours under Aleda’s observation, it made sense that he would have to pay some kind of price.
Not long after, he ended the stream. He was still getting used to this new way of doing things. After all, he had not been a streamer for long, and until now, he had only been accustomed to having a camera in front of him.
So yes, he was slowly getting used to it. And that’s why, short streams....despite how many dislikes he got upon mentioning to see them later.
They...really are childish sometimes. And the strange part...even One-eyed ’booo-ed’ just now.
Shaking his head, he was moving toward the resort when suddenly,
"Kyle, can we talk?"
He was surprised. He didn’t sense the person coming this way.
He turned and found Layena standing there with a serious expression.
Just by her sudden arrival he felt something was wrong. He couldn’t tell why but the Layena back in the bus and this one seemed two different people.
’Do I need to be wary?’
