Steampunk: Sixth Era Epic-Chapter 1028 [Knowledge and Wisdom]: The Talent of The Chosen One
Chapter 1028: Chapter 1028 [Knowledge and Wisdom]: The Talent of The Chosen One
"The demon is tempting the Chosen One?"
Watching this scene under the moonlight, Shard thought suspiciously, if the other succeeded, it seemed another Ivan Daknis would be born. But the Chosen One of Wisdom is not the Chosen of Darkness, the former should not do this, otherwise he would not be qualified to inherit "Wisdom."
As expected, Sir Plisha sneered, he understood the language already cursed in itself:
"Even a Sage cannot define themselves, let alone me."
As he spoke, amidst the sound of whistles and bells, the Ring of Fate behind him slowly appeared in the Steam Mist. Contrary to the information provided by Miss Danester, he was not a Four Rings but a Five Rings. There were four rare Core Spirit Runes—
[Guiding Moon], [White Wings], [Book], and [Finger].
Seeing "Guiding Moon," Shard’s eyes widened instantly, as the four Core Spirit Runes simultaneously bloomed Spiritual Light under the moon, as if trying to oppress the male servant with the eerie smile.
The small mirror given by Danester for collecting Spiritual Light was on Shard, but collecting Spiritual Light required a range of 15 feet, so the conditions were not currently met.
And the demon facing Sir Plisha shook its head with a smile:
"A true Sage also does not use power to reason."
It seemed completely unaffected:
"Discovering you was purely an accident, and I originally wasn’t participating in the plans of the Sixth Era’s epic. But now the situation is a little different, I can be honest, yes, I need you. I offer you everything of mine, as long as you are willing to harbor my soul. I am willing to humbly serve you as my master, only hoping you can protect me from my enemies."
Lakin Prisia took a palm-sized small book from the large pocket inside his coat, and with a gentle toss backward, the book "melted" into the spinning Ring of Fate.
The massive pages turned at the center of the Ring, and there unexpectedly appeared three additional Enlightenment Spirit Runes. This scene not only startled Dr. Schneider, who was preparing to cast, but even Shard was shocked.
A whisper at the ear:
[The title of the book is "Illustrated Handbook of Practical Mechanisms and Devices for Mechanical Design."]
"The three additional Spirit Runes are [Power Welding], [Mechanical Fusion], [Brass Gear]."
Shard mentally added, then saw the three brand-new Spirit Runes responding to the Sir’s Miracle Spirit Rune [Dragon]. The Four Spirit Runes were forming an Arcane Technique, and even if it hadn’t been activated yet, Shard could almost sense that bizarre power.
"Can’t the Witches feel what’s happening here?"
[The Chosen One’s power is special; they can’t sense it from a long distance.]
The doctor gaped in awe at the scene before him and after a long while continued his casting. Shard suppressed his inner shock, having long known the Chosen Ones’ talents were mostly unreasonably extraordinary, but compared to Iluna’s "Balance Power," Daknis’s "Dark Vortex," and Barton’s "Death’s Extreme Affinity," Lakin Prisia was even more unreasonable.
"Fusing a book directly to create new Spirit Runes out of nowhere?"
Shard couldn’t even imagine such a talent existed. However, considering the scope of authority of the Ancient God [Secret-Keeping Mentor], when thinking carefully, this talent might not be so exaggerated.
"Exceptional power."
The demon’s words appeared unusually "slick," admiring this extraordinary talent:
"Do you really know what this power is?"
It softly asked, but Sir Plisha, whose face was illuminated by the Ring of Fate, remained unchanged in expression:
"Perhaps one day, I might get an answer from a true Sage, but I will never get it from your mouth."
The manor servant, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, shook his head with a smile:
"The sooner you know, the better for you. You are clearly already deep within the vortex of Fate, yet tragically unaware of it. Oh, young Chosen One, you need me as much as I need you."
The demon finally uttered the word "Chosen One." These ancient beings seemed very knowledgeable about the epic of the Sixth Era but also very averse to it. If it weren’t driven to despair, it wouldn’t have chosen to meet Sir Plisha.
"Chosen One?"
Sir Plisha’s expression still did not change, and the resonating Four Spirit Runes were almost activating the Arcane Technique. Under that vast starry sky, Shard and Dr. Schneider, who was almost ready to complete his spellcasting, simultaneously saw the shadow of a multi-headed gear Mechanical Dragon flash by.
The two hiding in the bushes remained silent, exchanged a glance, and clearly saw each other’s expressions.
"I don’t care who you are."
Sir Plisha shook his head:
"Please shut your mouth, sir. You now have two choices. Fight me here until the Church Ring Sorcerers protecting the Princess are alerted; or turn around and leave, and we both act as if we didn’t meet tonight."
"Leave? Aren’t you worried I might expose your secret?"
The demon’s mouth curved to an arc impossible for a normal person:
"I have seen your Desire, your ambition. The pursuit of knowledge is the driving force for human progress but also a bottomless abyss more terrifying than the Abyss itself. For your thirst for knowledge, how many wrongs have you committed?"
Shard glanced at the doctor again and found that he too was looking at him. Both realized they were about to hear "big news," but it was clearly too late to back out now.
"The things I have done, I will bear the consequences myself. You need not point them out."
The four-color aura on the spinning brass ring seemed almost overflowing at this moment. However, it was still a form of intimidation; Lakin Prisia wasn’t planning to take action here.
"Oh, is that so?"
The demon chuckled:
"Perhaps those around you believe you to be a decent, wise gentleman. But I know full well that in your pursuit of knowledge, you would sacrifice anyone. Yes, anyone."
It squinted slightly: freewēbnoveℓ.com
"The reason you haven’t strayed down the wrong path so far is simply that you haven’t encountered knowledge worth forsaking everything for. Your wisdom has allowed you to control your actions well. But do you know what kind of knowledge I possess?"
It nodded at its head again, and this time Sir Prisia’s expression finally changed a little:
"You’re not the first to tempt me, nor the first to threaten me. But those before you have all disappeared."
"Balancing between the Xerxes Higher Medical Academy and the Apna Library isn’t easy, is it?"
The demon asked with a smile:
"Perhaps you don’t have to fully accept me immediately; instead, let’s play a small game. I’ll give you a portion of my power, and you can try to embrace it, feel it. If you don’t wish to have this power, then I lose, and I’ll leave; if you do accept it, then I win, and I will offer you all my power."
It took out a blue crystal stone from its pocket, which looked quite familiar to both Shard and Dr. Schneider. It wiped its finger across the surface of the crystal, and a streak of pitch black appeared in the azure glow.
The crystal stone was handed to Sir Prisia, who shook his head slightly and said softly while looking at it:
"The Sage’s Glowstone that can only be gifted once? What a coincidence, I have two. One acquired more than a decade ago, and another just recently, thanks to a humanoid relic that helped me reclaim a lost valuable book."
In the grass, Shard pressed his lips tightly and said nothing:
"I have one, Iluna has one, Sir Prisia has two, and the demon holds one... five in total."
"But while knowledge is important, unfortunately, my wisdom tells me that knowledge has its weight as well. Although I crave knowledge, I have always been quite cautious, yes, very cautious. I have indeed concealed some dangerous pasts, but they were all worth it."
Sir Prisia seemed to have thought of something and chuckled softly:
"You aren’t the evil spirit demon of the Third Era, are you? I admit you have impressed me, but unfortunately, I am a naturally timid person. Leave, do not force me to take action."
The valet bent slightly, leaving the radiant stone on the ground:
"Aren’t you curious? Don’t I know some of your secrets? Those dirty, unseemly, and even somewhat disgusting ones..."
Roar~
Amidst an astounding dragon roar, a multi-headed gear mechanical dragon with nine dragon heads materialized from the starry sky. The nine slender brass gear necks entwined with each other, collectively spewing out pitch-black flames downward.
Lakin Prisia stood under the grape arbor, coldly watching this scene. After the dragon finished spewing, the valet had disappeared, leaving only Victor Fanny standing in his place.
It slightly bowed, saluting Sir Prisia:
"The Chosen One, I respect your decision. I will leave here, but regarding this Sage’s Glowstone..."
It pointed at the crystal stone on the ground:
"Inside, there is some knowledge that you might find interesting. You can choose to take it or ignore it. This is a gift I present to you in my personal capacity, so no one else can obtain it."
It said with a smile, then slowly retreated until disappearing into the grass beneath the grape arbor.
"Situation change."
Seeing the demon leave, the doctor almost immediately spoke, dropping a Silence Charm as well:
"Shard, you must temporarily obstruct Lakin Prisia, not letting him get close to me. Half a minute is enough; I’ll pursue that demon!"
Shard knew why Dr. Schneider had suddenly changed the plan; the doctor was also alarmed by Sir Prisia:
"No problem."
He took out the disguise rune stone gifted by Miss Rita Swift, Granny Cassandra’s young apprentice, pressed it into his palm, and after an unusual feeling of flowing water enveloped his body, Shard’s entire form grew taller, with clothes and features reshaping like clay:
"Thirty seconds!"
Shard said to the doctor.
The Southern Nation’s middle-aged sir ended the conversation with the demon and was hesitantly looking at the radiant stone on the ground. Suddenly, the grass swayed twice, and two unfamiliar figures emerged from it, under his surprised gaze.
